dailyprophet A recent attack in Diagon Alley, not far from our own business, left several civilians injured and resulted in the disappearances of three witches and wizards.  Shopkeepers near the attack report their businesses being ransacked, objects ruined and stores overturned.  The phrase 'Our blood will not be polluted' was carved into the street in Diagon Alley.  It's unclear what the motive behind the attack is.  When reached for comment, all the Ministry had to say was that there is no connection between this event and the reported contacting of Delphini Riddle.  Tap your wand to the image above for more information!

ministryofmagic In light of recent events, we have come to the conclusion that our community is in need of further assimilation and improved relations with non-magical people as well as eliminating the long-standing prejudice which continues to isolate and dehumanize those with Muggle ancestry.  In an effort to do so, the Blood Isonomy Act will be passed immediately in an effort to provide equal rights and protection to all witches and wizards regardless of blood 'purity' or ancestry, and to keep vulnerable communities safe from the threats they are presently facing.

The Blood Isonomy Act will do the following things:

1.  Implement a new branch of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement tasked with the objective of investigating hate crimes and eliminating potential threats immediately upon suspicion by whatever means deemed necessary by level of danger (more on this on clause three).  As this threat is becoming increasingly dangerous not only to the target demographic but to the indirect victims as well, it will be made a priority.  Due to the immediate nature of this, the designated Aurors will be able to alter traditional protocol and overrule presiding statutes in order to complete the given task in the most effective and quick way possible.  They will have full immunity from established legal ramifications, should they choose to partake in this.  This department will be known as the Eradication of Muggle-based Prejudice And Targeted Hate (EMPATH).

2.  Due to the patterns that have emerged through the extensive research of professionals hand-picked by the Ministry for this project, we will be taking extra precautions by not only improving existing security measures but adding new ones, including but not limited to the following: increased Auror presence in highly-populated magical places; placing a Taboo on certain key phrases used commonly by the offenders; sporatic mandatory wand checks by any Ministry official who sees fit; and more.  Failure to comply will result in consequence deemed fit by severity of the crime and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  These alterations to our current state will be active indefinitely.

3.  Opposing forces have been divided into two distinct categories and will be dealt with accordingly.  The first is the more prominent category, which consists of current emergency—level threats.  These are the things and people which pose an imminent threat and must be stopped immediately, often catastrophic situations which are presently occuring.  The second level is for those for which Ministry officials have reasonable suspicion of criminal activity (prejudice, participation in hate crimes, etc.).  Any witch or wizard who promotes, encourages, or is complicit with the persecution of the victims falls into this category.  Those with any association to Voldemort or his followers, whether currently or otherwise, is also considered a part of this.  Any person in this category is susceptible to investigation, interrogation, arrest, or other actions which the Ministry sees fit.

4.  The Ministry recognizes the resurgence in anti-muggle sentiments in recent months, but all evidence authenticate the notion that the attack in Diagon Alley was an isolated incident.  Many have suggested that a current Azkaban prisoner is plotting a rebellion, but these accusations are unfounded.  These lies have encouraged conflict and furthered the escalation of that which is already plaguing our nation.  In an effort to combat this misinformation, the Ministry has hereby banned all discussion of said 'threat.' As stated in clause 2, certain words have been given a Taboo to prevent the discussion of them.  Any witch or wizard who fails to comply will be considered guilty of treason and will be punished accordingly, which will vary based on the severity of the given action.

All witches and wizards are reminded that those who conspire against the Ministry and what our community has come to stand for will face consequences for their unfortunate choices.
