Aurora had stayed with Emilio and Luca for only three days before Emilio had convinced her to go back home and 'face her fears'. So she was saying her goodbyes, mentally preparing herself for what might happen when she returned after being AWOL for about a week.

She really did enjoy her stay with her favourite boys and would miss them greatly, but she promised she would visit soon and she intended on keeping that promise.

"Okay, bye aunt Rory." Luca sniffled, finally letting go of her.

Aurora stood up from her position on the floor where she was crouched in front of the little boy and stared up at her brother with teary eyes.

"I'll miss you, Leo." Was all she could get out without choking up.

"You'll be okay, won't you?" He questioned, hugging her tight.

She didn't reply. And she didn't have to either, because he knew. He always knew.

After a tearful goodbye, Aurora left Leo's house and got into the nearest cab, telling them her address and dreading what might happen when she got back.

She reached into her back pocket and turned on her phone after having it off for a week.

She frowned at all the notifications.

14 missed calls from: future mrs rogers

27 missed calls from: eyepatch

5 missed calls from: bird-boy

Aurora sighed, before clicking onto her text messages.

Director Fury said you haven't answered his calls.

When Aurora's cab finally pulled up outside her apartment complex, she paid and thanked the driver before entering the building. She walked up three flights of stairs before getting to apartment 23 and noticed something.

Her door was unlocked.

And open.

And there was someone in her apartment.

She pushed open the door and came face to face with the intruder.

"Bonky?"

A knife flew past her ear, barely slicing her cheek. She stared wide-eyed at the assassin before her.
