Hope

Haruhi's POV

"What do you mean we can't be together?"

"My family...they set up an arranged double marriage for me and Kaoru".

"What?"

"Once we finish high school, Kaoru and I are getting married to a couple of England's richest girls, and it's to tie our family businesses together".

"But, you told me your parents said you would only move to England if you and Hikaru wanted to, so why would they force you to get married?"

"It was never really our choice to come here, it was just a matter of time before they brought us here anyway; even if we stayed at Ouran, we still would have gotten married after".

"Isn't there anything you can do...anything I can do...to stop this?"

"No...the marriage is practically set in stone, I doubt there's anything we can do..."

"Well...you said the marriage is to have a good relationship between the family businesses right?"

"Ya..."

"Then, isn't there something else you can do to create that good relationship?"

"I don't....I don't know....maybe?"

"Then there's still hope! We have to try! Come on, let's go ask your parents right now!"

I grabbed Hikaru's hand and started running.

"Wait Haruhi! First of all, we need Kaoru" Hikaru pointed at a tree about 20 feet away from us. "You can come out now!"

Kaoru stuck his head out from behind the tree and walked over to us. I guess he was just creepily watching Hikaru and me the whole time.

"I'm so happy to see you Haruhi!" Kaoru pulled me in for a big hug, and of course I hugged him back.

"Hey," Hikaru angrily said, "hands off my girl". He tried to keep a straight face to act serious but he couldn't help laughing.

"Alright," I turned around and look out into the distance, let's go fix this!"

I started walking when I realized they weren't following me.

"Guys, come on let's go".

"Haruhi, do you even know where you are going?"

Whoops, looks like my desperation to get Hikaru back made me forget that I have no clue where his parents are.

Hikaru grabbed my hand and started walking in the other direction. It took about an hour for the three of us to walk and reach their home. In the meantime we were able to catch up on a lot of things.

"Wait, Haruhi, how did you even get here?" Hikaru asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you were in Japan, how did you get to England?"

"I got on a plane".

"But..." He looked so confused. "How did you afford a plane ticket?!"

"Oh...well, I just spent all my savings on it".

"So you're telling me, you spent all the money that you had just to come here and talk to me, and you didn't even know if I was even going to come back?"

"Yes. That's how much I love you".

"Awwwwwww!" Kaoru said like a kid looking at a puppy. "That's so cute!"

"Shut up," Hikaru playfully pushed Kaoru, then turned and kissed me on the cheek.

We kept on walking and we finally reached the new Hitachiin estate. It was bigger and bolder than the last mansion and it looked like you could fit about 10 guest bedrooms in there.

Before we walked in I stopped the twins and said, "Do we actually have a plan?"

They looked at eachother, turned back to me and simultaneously said, "Nope".

I guess we were just gonna have to wing it.
