"Happy birthday!" Everyone present including Anna screamed. I chuckled lightly and faced Anna "how did you know?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked and then pouted her lips. She looked so cute

"It's not important" I replied. The last birthday I celebrated was my tenth birthday. It didn't end well because of my dad. He can home furious that afternoon and told everyone to go home and then after that day I just didn't feel like throwing a party but I had to admin that the surprise party made me feel special, made me feel wanted.

My close pals came close to me and gave me hugs. Michael, Jesse, Angel, Rebecca and my classmates in school. They all had gifts for me.

I turned to Becca "you planned this right?"

She shook her head and then pointed to Anna who was busy talking to a guy at the entrance of the bar. They looked like they were in an argument and  the guy really looked familiar  "I assisted her anyways"

"Thanks" I muttered before strolling off to where Anna stood, when she boy left, she smiled

"Birthday boy" Anna held my hands and dragged me to the middle of the room. I was confused till she started singing.

She gave me a kiss on the lips and then pulled me into an embrace. My heart skipped a beat.

"Was that my birthday gift?" I whispered into her ears

She smiled "part of it"

The cake was brought forward, It was a pretty huge cake but it looked nice. There were eighteen candles on it.

"Say your wish" Mofe, one of my classmate beside me said.

I said my wish in my mind and then blew the candle lights off.

Music started playing and everyone was dancing. Apart from me and Anna. We just stood close to each other and talked.

"Oya everybody let's move to the pool side!" Micheal shouted and then went out through a door. Everyone followed suit.

The pool was very big and I was about stripping when I remembered I wasn't with my swimsuit.

I tapped Anna "I didn't bring my swimsuit"

"Don't worry I brought one, let's go to the changing room"she replied.

She picked up a small duffel bag and we went to the changing room. When we got there I hugged her again
"Thanks"

"For what?" She asked

"For everything"I replied. I leaned in closer and our lips touched. I placed my hands on her waist and was about to deepen the kiss when we heard voices just outside the door.

We pulled apart and I cleared my throat. "Well be fast, I want to swim" I said

She nodded and then opened the bag, she brought out a navy blue swimming trunk. I collected it and entered the first cubicle. Anna occupied the second one.

I changed into the swimming trunk and then stepped out of the cubicle. I leaned on the door as I waited to Anna to step out. I was anxious to see her in a swimsuit.

Minutes later, she wasn't out ."Anna it's everything okay there?" I asked

"I can't come out in these" she whined like a child

"In what?" I asked

"I told Becca to get me a swimming trunk but instead she bought bikini, its too revealing" she replied. I laughed a bit

"Oya come out let me see how it is" i teased

"Nooooo"she replied" its like I won't swim again"

I frowned "Don't say that. Its my birthday party o"

I heard her sigh "okay please tell Becca to give you a scarf or something "

"Why na? Just come out" i grumbled

"No!"

I sighed and then left in search of Becca. After some minutes, I saw her with Angel. They were in their swimsuit ready to swim.

I touched her "Anna said the bikini is too revealing and that she needs a scarf". Becca laughed "she better come out because I didn't bring any scarf"

"What should..."

She ran to meet Michael  before I could finish.

I went back to the changing room and then knocked on the door
"Who's that? Someone's here" Anna said

"Its me. Becca said she didn't bring any scarf"

"Damn!"

"Anna, come out. Everyone's in a swimsuit so don't be shy" I said trying to convince her

"I'm not shy" she said flatly

"Then what? Or are you ashamed of your body?" I asked

She didn't reply

"Ohhh,that's why. Don't be, if you must know, you're the only girl I see"

She chuckled but didn't say anything. Few seconds later, she stepped out.

She was in a navy blue bikini and she looked nice. Why was she shy when she had a nice body?

"You're okay now" I teased her

She bit her lips "shut up"

I smiled and stared lusciously at her body

"There's another problem" she said

"What again?" I thump my feet on the ground

"I can't swim, I want you to teach me"

I laughed "Easy"

It wasn't easy. Anna continued thinking she would drown. I took her to the four feet part of the pool but still she was scared. After thirty minutes I was tired already. I could see my male friends in the deepest part swimming  in different styles, which was surely to make all the girls go "ohh" and "wow". Showoffs

"Okay first of all, how many seconds can you stay under water?" I asked her

"I don't know. Let me check"

She bent down so her head would be under the water and i counted till she stood up "twenty one seconds, you tried"

The next stage was flapping. I taught her how to flap her legs which she was horrible at doing no matter how many times I showed her

"Place one feet on the wall with your two hands straight and then push yourself forward. Make sure your head is under the water" I said trying to teach her how to glide for the tenth time.

She nodded and for a moment i thought she would do it. She didn't.

"I'm going to drown, I'm going to drown!" She screamed and everyone laughed. She flew into my arms and I laughed "you will never learn as long as you are scared of water"

"I'm not" she replied

I went under the water and was about to drag her when my hands mistakenly touched her butt.

She gave me a deadly look

"I'm sorry, mistake" I said.

She laughed "its okay. I'll be back, I want to pee.

I nodded and watched her come out of the pool. Nearly all the guys present had their eyes on her. Who could blame them?

After swimming for a while, I looked round but I didn't see Anna. Hope she didn't drown in the toilet? I decided to check oh her.

I saw her, but she wasn't alone. She was with Dozie they were kissing and then it dawned on me that the boy she was talking to earlier was Dozie.
