I woke up late on Monday, It was all Juliet's fault. Last night she didn't let me rest as she kept asking how the party was and how many fine boys were there, she also asked if I saw any boy her age. I was frustrated.

Then I had to make the hairstyle for the week which was all back and base. Thank God my mom learnt hairdressing when she was young.

We finished the hair around twelve mid night and by then I was already dozing off.

I woke up by seven am and when I was done preparing for school, it was almost eight am. I was already late. When I closed my house main gate, I looked towards Timi's house wishing to see him walk out but it wasn't possible. He usually left for school early.

As  I walked outside the estate where I will take a bike to school, I remembered I didn't say my morning prayers so, I silently prayed.

When I got to school, Timi was at the gate and he smiled as I got down from the bike.

"Good morning."

"Good morning." I replied.

"You're late."

"I know, I slept really late last night." I muttered with a yawn. I still felt tired and sleepy.

"But we got home early."

"Yeah but I had to make my hair," I said touching my weaves. His eyes followed my hands" Its nice, You look beautiful."

I rolled my eyes. Who tells a girl she looks beautiful with cornrows.

I laughed."Please help me beg your friend to let me pass."I pleaded as I remembered the wicked but cute punctuality prefect always waiting to punish late comers.

He laughed and nodded. He took my hands in his and walked me inside the school. The punctuality prefect wasn't even there. It was someone else.

"Isaiah please let her go." He told the slim brown skinned boy.

He was the head social prefect. He smiled at me and nodded " Oya go."

I thanked him with a smile and walked to the class. Becca was writing something on her note when I sat down.

"What's that?" I asked with curiosity.

"Its Maths assignment I'm copying o, we're having maths now," She said it so fast that I barely heard what she said until saw the math teacher walking into the class. I rushed to do mine too.

During lunch break I went to the abandoned class at the back of the building which i was sure would be empty, I wanted to read and I needed to be in somewhere quite.

I asked Becca to buy me something when she was coming back to the class so I would have something to eat later.

I moved to a seat at the back of the class. It was close to a window. I needed fresh air.

When I was at page ten of the book I was reading, I felt a presence close to me. I looked up and I saw Timi standing at the door.

"How can I help you?" I asked and once again just seeing him made my heart race.

He walked closer to me "Is this seat taken?"he asked pointing to the seat beside me.

"Yes."

"Aw, sucks for them." he sat down.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well I didn't see you at the canteen so I decided to check on you here."

"You said I could come here if I needed to be alone."

"Yeah, alone with me."

I laughed "You're so full of yourself."

"What can I say? I'm awesome."

"Awesomely stupid you mean," I laughed harder. I noticed my heart beat faster when i was with him. I was falling for him .

We talked about random things. We argued about which universe was better in Marvel and DC. I choose DC but Timi kept saying Marvel.

"But you can't deny that DC movies are sweeter, for example flash and arrow. Everyone loves those movies." I argued.

"DC movies are too childish for my liking and they never end."

I opened my arms in surrender and laughed." I give up! Our DC fans are too much sef  we don't need you. Thank you."

"And we don't need you too," he chided.

"And I'm very sure you would say Wizkid is better than Davido." I eyed him.

"But he is!"

" I said it!" I screamed." Start going, I don't talk to wizkid's fan." I pushed him out of his seat and as he fell, he pulled me with him. Timi landed on his back and with me on top.

Our eyes locked and our body froze. One of his hand was on my waist and the other was locked with his on the floor. No one wanted to move. His eyes fell on my lips and I silently begged for him to close the distance between us. When it seemed like my wish was going to happen, the bell went off signalling the end of lunch break.

It was like the sound zapped Timi and in a second he stood up and helped me up.

"I'll see you later. Let's go home together today."

"Okay" that was all I could say. I almost kissed Timi moments ago. I didn't know what to feel. He had a girlfriend, but I liked him.

Yeah I did.

I walked to the class some minutes later and Becca was already there .

"Where were you?"she looked worried.

"Just around. I was just looking for somewhere quite to read."

"Timi was nowhere to be found too. Were you with him?"

I considered lying but I decided against it. Becca was my closest friend right now and I didn't want to lie to her.

"Yes."

She sighed"Anna be careful."

"Why?"

"I know Timi is a nice guy and all but be careful."

I was confused"I don't understand."

"Well,you know he has a girlfriend."

"I know but can't I be friends with him?" I asked with curiosity .

"You can anyways, but I know what I'm saying."

"But we're just friends"I continued.

"Hmm na so" she pouted.

"I'm serious. I wont deny that I like him but its not possible. He has Sylvia besides I met this cute boy yesterday, he promised to call me."

"Oh I forgot! Tell me everything!"she shouted and everyone turned to look at us. I gave her this I can kill you right now look.

But I told her everything I knew about Dozie.

"I know him." She said and I frowned."Form where?"

She laughed and slapped me playfully on my arms.

"Chill, our schools usually have combined parties together. Just like the last one yesterday."

"Do you know him personally?" I asked again.

"We've talked once or twice. He's a nice guy sha, I don't really know. But one thing is sure, h-e is cu-te". She said laying emphasises on her  words.

Before I could reply the CRS teacher walked in. "Good morning ma." We all stood up and chorused.

"Morning, Sit." she said with a frown. I still don't get why teachers always put their frustration on we the innocent students.

"Where did we stop in our last class?"

After Crk, our math teacher came back to the class to inform us inform us about the coming up continuous assessment text next two weeks. He also told me I wasn't doing well in  math and that I needed to buckle up since I started during second term.

He wasn't lying, I never could understand maths which was frustrating. I had to look for a solution.

After school I waited for Timi outside the school for almost thirty minutes. He finally came out with Sylvia,they were laughing together at something she said and I couldn't help but feel hurt.

He noticed me finally and walked over "Hi."

"Hi."

"Have you been waiting here long?"

"No I just came outside" I lied. I didn't want it to seem like I really wanted us to go home together.

But I did.

"Sorry I have to go somewhere with Sylvia then I'll walk her home before I go home."

"Oh"was all I could say. 

Thanks for wasting my time.

"Hope you are not angry?"

"No, I'm even waiting for my sister." Another lie.Juliet had left with her friends since. And I was here waiting like a fool.

"Okay then I'll -"he started but Sylvia interrupted.

"Timi!"Sylvia shouted " Let's go!"

"See you later."He said finally, I just smiled and nodded.

After they left, I began my journey home alone.

When I got home Daniel was watching television. I was in no mood to talk to anyone so I locked myself in my room.

My phone lit up with a new message, I picked it up and unlocked it.

Unknown; Hey

Me:hi who's this?

Unknown:guess

Me:i dunno

Unknown:Dozie

Me:ohhhh😁😁awayu

*unknown changed to Dozie*

Dozie: im fine jare. U?

Me:im good

Dozie: will you be chanced on saturday?

Me:Yeah i think so
Of course I would be. I grinned like a love sick girl.

Dozie:thank God😪 i want us to go out on a date

Me:okay.

Dozing:is that a yes?

Me:😒 yes na

Dozie:thanks🤗

After we texted I quickly called Becca and told her about my date on Saturday. She was so happy and she promised to help me prepare for that day.

I smiled as I slept that night. If i couldn't have Timi at least I could have another guy. I was anticipating .
