The past

Flashback to many years ago. Touya is 12 and Keigo is 11 (I don't know who is older tbh)

"Hey, Touya!"

Keigo and Touya were meeting up at their favorite park which they did every day. It was a beautiful park surrounded by many trees and paths. It also had a playground and a baseball field. When Keigo first starting coming to this park he tried to make many friends. He had an outgoing personality. Many of the kids called him annoying and told him to leave them alone except for one kid. He had white hair and beautiful turquoise eyes. He was the only kid who actually talked to Keigo. His name was Touya.

"Hey, Keigo!" Touya said while walking over to hug Keigo.

"You have more bandages? Did he do it again? Are you okay?" Keigo said observing his arms

"Yeah, I'm fine just a few burns and cuts, nothing major."

Keigo knew deep down he wasn't okay not with the look of fear and worry in his eyes. Keigo knew Touya was scared of his father. Keigo wanted to do something, he wanted to do anything to help his best friend. The only real family he had. The only person he has ever felt so close to. That was the last day he saw his dear friend. The last time he ever got to look into those bright blue eyes.

"Touya Todoroki has been missing for over two weeks now. Reporters say Enji Endeavor, the number two hero, is now pronouncing him dead and will be holding a funeral for close friends and family."

Keigo sighed and shut off the tv. He didn't want to hear it. He should be out there looking for Touya but he was stuck inside with his abusive drunk father and his mother who never even looked at the boy anymore. He laid back onto the couch and closed his eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Keigo was woken up to a loud bang. He sprung up quickly and looked around. He quickly got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen. He found his mother on the floor, surrounded by her own blood. He stood there in shock at the sight he had just seen. He walked over to his mother and shook her. She didn't respond. He looked around for his father but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Mom? Please wake up."

He quickly walked to her bedroom and picked up the house phone. He dialed 911 and waited for someone to answer.

"911 What's your emergency?"

"Um... My m-mom is bleeding in the kitchen. I-I need someone to come help her."

"Okay, what's your location?"

"My house?"

"What's the address sweetie?"

"I'm not sure."

"Okay I found your location an ambulance is on the way. Do you know what happened?"

"No, I just woke up to a loud bang and found my mother on the floor. I can't find my father."

"Okay, what's your name?"

"Keigo"

"Okay, what's your mother's name?"

"Mary"

"Okay who all lives with you?"

"Just my mom and dad."

Keigo then heard a knock on the door and he quickly opened it. Two paramedics walked in and asked where his mother was. He led them to her and they quickly found the source of the blood. They picked her up and laid her on a stretcher and took her out of the house. Keigo tried to follow her but was stopped by the police.

"That's my mother!"

"We know but your gonna come with us while they make her better ok?"

Keigo went with the police to the station where he waited for hours. One of the phones started to ring and one of the men picked it up. Keigo couldn't hear what they were saying but the look on the man's face told Keigo something was wrong. When the man hung up the phone Keigo walked over to him and asked about his mother.

"I'm very sorry to tell you this but your mother didn't make it. She passed away at the hospital."

Keigo wasn't sure how to respond to this. He knew what it meant and he knew that his mother was gone but he just didn't want to believe it. He stood there in shock until the man patted him on his shoulder.

"Well with your father missing and a suspect in this murder and you don't have any other family, You will be going to the hero commission because of your quirk and there you will train to be a hero."

Keigo was excited to become a hero although a part of him wished he was still back home with his mother and father. A few days went by since his mother had passed and he was now on his way to the commission. When he got there he was taken to a lab where they performed many tests on him. Keigo wasn't too sure of what the tests were but they sure did hurt. Over the next few years, Keigo was trained all day and early in the morning. It was intense training. They would test his physical abilities over and over again by breaking his wings or burning them just to see if they were capable of growing back. They would build up the strength of his wings and individual feathers. If he didn't do good in his day training he was forced to train all night. Keigo wanted nothing more than to go home and be with his family once again... to see Touya again is all he wished.

Once he turned eighteen he left. He left far away from there and the first place he went was his old home. When he got there he noticed the lights were on and there were different cars outside. He walked up to the house and looked through the window. There was a new family inside. What once used to be his house with his parents was now another's. What once used to be a dull-looking house was now filled with happiness and joy. What once used to be the only place he ever lived was now someone else's.

Keigo left his old house and walked to Touya's old house. He wasn't sure if Touya's family still lived there but he went anyway. When he got to the house he knocked on the front door and waited. The door opened and revealed the number one hero, endeavor.

"May I help you?" The tall man asked

"Oh hi um I used to be a friend of Touya's and well I haven't been around for a long time and I was just wondering if he ever came home?"

Endeavor invited him inside and sat on the couch next to him.

"Are you by any chance Keigo?"

"Yes.." Keigo said looking up at the man.

"Touya mentioned you a few times. We tried looking for you when we had his funeral but no one ever knew where you were. It's like you vanished from existence."

"Oh, I was at the hero commission, training..."

"Oh! Does that mean your gonna become a hero?"

"Well yeah, I just have to find a job first and somewhere to live."

"Well you could come work for my agency and I can get you set up in a place if you would like."

"Oh, you don't have to."

"No, it's not a problem. I can help you with training as well. You can start at my agency on Monday and we can find you an apartment to live at and I can pay for your first month there."

"Wow thank you so much!"

"Of course I'm glad to help. Let me just make a few calls first and then I can help you get to a new apartment."

Endeavor left the room and Keigo sat there patiently waiting. What Keigo didn't know was that Endeavor's training was gonna be just as bad as the commissions and what he didn't know is that Endeavor wasn't the nice man he pretended to be that day.
