Bubbles

Aja burst into Krell's room, eyes sparkling with excitement. "Look what Steve gave me!"

Tossing a small bottle into Krell's hands, Aja exclaimed, "I think it is a special kind of drink! The label says it is called the rainbow bubbles."

Eli, who had been sitting on the end of Krell's bed with a book in hand, quickly snatched the bottle away before Krell could drink from the bottle.

"Er, it's not a drink, it's a toy."

Krell and Aja blinked at their friend, not understanding.

"Let's go outside and I'll show you."

The three headed outside, where Eli fished around in the bottle and pulled out a small wand. "See this? Dip it into the bottle and it looks all shimmery." Eli dipped the wand into the bubble solution and pulled it back out, grinning when the alien siblings' eyes lit up. "Then blow through the little loop at the end, like this."

Aja and Krell gasped when the first shining bubble appeared, flinching when it floated its way towards them. Aja was the first to attempt to touch it, squeaking when the bubble burst before her finger could reach it.

"Where did it go?" Aja's eyes flicked over her surroundings. "Do these bubbles become invisible?"

Eli shook his head. "Nah, they just disappear. Try it!"

Seizing the wand, Aja blew a strong breath against the wand, eyes widening when a long stream of bubbles burst from it. "This is so magical!"

Next it was Krell's turn. The alien teen tried a different way than his sister had, blowing his air into the wand in a slow, careful way. He was rewarded with a single massive bubble- one that promptly popped in his face, showering the teen with bubble mist.

"Ahhh! That it not nice to my eyes!" Krell exclaimed, while doing his best to rub the stinging sensation out of his pupils.

Eli passed the bubble wand back to Aja and gave Krell a comforting pat on the back. "Yeah, try to avoid that next time."

Soon the stinging faded, and Krell rejoined the fun, grinning at all of the bubbles floating around the yard.

Eventually the bottle became empty, and the three teens regretfully put away the bubble wand.

"Thank you Eli for showing us how fun the bubbles can be." Krell gave his friend a hug, and Aja nodded behind him.

"I am sad that the bubbles are gone, but they were so awesome! I am glad that we did not drink them."

Eli said his goodbyes not long after, and Krell and Aja resigned themselves to a future without more pretty shiny bubbles.

That is, until Eli returned the next day-

With piles and piles of bubble bottles piled in his arms, and Steve in tow with even more bottles.

"You didn't think the fun was over yet, did you?"

Aja and Krell were so lucky to have such thoughtful and loving friends. Now they would never run out of this great new thing!

Let the bubbles begin!
