A fantastic story about the music business for kids and teens everywhere, RISE PATTY LASCALIA, RISE explores the colorful world of 1960s pop music and its impact on our culture. Patty LaScalia, a precocious teenager growing up in New York City in the turbulent 1960s, is blessed with a talent that is original and fresh. She knows she has something special, but she soon finds out that being a trailblazer is a lonely path that is difficult to navigate. Along the way, she meets the real life characters who have made the music industry what it is today and wrestles with the talent that propels her far from the world that she documents in her song. Told with gusto and care, and reminiscent of the relationship between Laura Nyro and David Geffen, RISE is a cautionary tale set at the crossroads between are and commerce.
16 year old Hecate Blackwood does not seem like your typical 16 year old girl. Heck, I bet you expected me to say she does. Not even a little bit.Not even a little. In fact, this teenager seemingly void of emotions, has embraced the dark arts and is on her way to becoming one of the greatest witches of the 21st century. But what happens when this introvertial witch gets into a fight with a strange killer over who gets to murder a street cat?50 chapters of none stop madness, friendship and maybe...A little romance.
I walk into my lab, shut then lock the double-doors behind me. I begin to press a few buttons and flip on some switches. The usual things needed to turn on this huge machine. Every flicker it makes, the more excited I get. It took me nearly ten years to master this machine. This machine that could open a vortex-like hologram that can transport biotic things like food, school materials, small things like that. I have never sent people through this though. Ever since the incident that happened a few years ago. Also because I use it for a completely different reason. I use it for a completely different reason. I use it to create an animated world into reality , well sort of.I use a whole series of 72 books, download it into this machine and through that I can see the lives of these characters come to life on a huge screen. Of course they don't know that or can see me or anything. So far I have them in the middle of book 3. Which series is this? One that I have loved since a kid, Naruto. The Japanese manga. There is only one person who knows about this, the person I will once again meet within a few minutes, the protagonist himself, Naruto.
