THE PAST

OH MY FUCKING GOD. i made izzy cry. i made izzy actually burst into tears. i felt fucking terrible.

i've never seen izzy cry. actually, i have, like in photos and when we were younger, but not recently in person. to add to that, i've never seen izzy drunk. i've never even seen her drink alcohol because i knew niko would kick her out if she did so. she's only nineteen after all.

everything happened so fast. for starters, i bumped into izzy at this random rager, and then we get into a fucking argument about the rumors and about us.

yeah, i know what izzy said was heartbreaking and honestly sweet, but she was drunk. i couldn't take it. and plus, she has been ghosting my ass for weeks.

i suddenly got snapped out of my delusions when the voice of matt spoke to me. "chris, are you good? you've been standing out here for five minutes."

i was outside standing on the porch steps and leaning against a pillar. i rolled my eyes at matt's words. "i'm fine. can we go home?"

matt tilted his head to the side slightly. "why? we just came, like, thirty minutes ago..."

i clenched my jaw. "i know that and i want to go. now."

now me, matt, and nick were in the car in our usual unassigned assigned seats.

matt drove while nick was on my ass with another one of his usual rants. this one was about how i've gotten more boring because of the whole dating my best friend rumor. obviously he wouldn't know how i felt, he has no friends. (that was a moment of weakness.) happier than ever by billie eillish was playing on the speakers of the car, nick had aux if that wasn't obvious.

nick continued speaking. "honestly chris, you need to get over the fucking rumors because god knows there has been worse things spoken on the internet about you. you're making this a big deal when you could just simply ignore the words people say and move on with your career."

i looked out the window and at the dark sky and the shadows of the passing by trees. this kid was speaking bullshit. he doesn't know izzy like me.

nick wouldn't stop rambling. "you're such a fucking baby. grow up."

"you know what, nick? if you want me to grow up i would fucking grow up. but it's not that easy! i don't have a fucking magic wand where i can just make everything normal again! everything is ruined because of the stupid camera we use constantly. everything is ruined because of our supposed called 'fans'. me and izzy are ruined. so don't tell me to grow up when i'm still a fucking kid."

matt glances at me, a startled look on his face. nick looks bewildered, i can see him bite his tongue and lean back in his seat.

that was it. i have snapped.
