Third Person

Y/N held onto James tightly, burying her face in his shoulder. James could feel her body shaking, whether it be from the cold or from fear he didn't know, but guessed it was a bit of both.

Y/N's ankles were untied now, thanks to Lily, who had tears welling up in her eyes at the sight of her best friend. Y/N was sobbing silently, shaking violently in James's arms.

Sirius cried to himself silently, feeling this was all his fault. How couldn't it be? He had stopped Remus from going outside when he heard something, he was the reason she was there.

Remus, while still relieved, seemed to be the only one thinking logically.

"We need to get out of here before they wake up," he said quietly, his brows furrowed and a frown on his face as he stared down at the two unconscious men on the floor. "We've got to get back to the house- we need to get your dad, Y/N."

"NO!" Y/N shrieked, finally pulling herself away from James. She looked terrified; her face was tear-stained and red, her eyes darted around the room manically.

"Come on, Y/N," Lily consoled, putting her hand on top of Y/N's. The smaller girl flinched away, her eyes wide and scared. She looked an absolute mess.

"Y/N, please, Remus is right," James urged, slowly taking her hand in his. She watched as he did this, allowing him to take her hand. "We have to go back and tell your dad, he'll know what to do."

Y/N's hand flew away from James as she stumbled back over herself, scrambling to get away from them all. She ended up hitting a box at the edge of the warehouse, causing something inside to break as a small crack sounded from behind her.

"Hey, hey, hey- it's alright, you're ok," James whispered, leaning closer to the petrified girl. "Let's just get you back home, ok?"

"No! Not with him!" she whimpered, tears spilling out of her eyes.

Lily, James, Remus and Sirius all glanced at each other, each looking for possible answers from the others. Lily was the first to speak again.

"With who, Y/N? Do you mean your dad?"

The girl cried out, "He is not my father anymore." She looked scared and angry now - betrayed. James held out his hand to her, allowing them to choose whether she was comfortable with holding onto someone. She slowly held his hand in hers as more tears built up in her eyes.

There was a shout from outside - "KIDS! WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE, OH MY MERLIN!" the trembling but relieved voice of Euphemia Potter shrieked.

Euphemia had evidently found her two youngest children.

Within seconds, Euphemia and Fleamont were in the warehouse, both of their wands raised. Lara and Louis trailed behind them cautiously, still not sure what was going on.

"What is going on here!?" Euphemia yelled, her eyes glazed over but still terrifying. She stopped in her tracks when she saw the two unconscious men on the floor and Y/N curled up in the corner. The scene presented in front of her was certainly a bizarre one, but she had no time to contemplate it.

"Never mind that, let's get you all out of here," Fleamont sounded his wife's thoughts. He tried to grab his eldest son, but James fought back, trying to get back to Y/N. She was holding her legs up to her chest, sobbing silently.

"It's ok, we won't go back there," James told her quietly, voice barely above a whisper. She allowed him to inch his way over to her, watching as he held out a hand to her once again. "We do have to get out of here, though."

She nodded, reaching out slowly and taking his hand in hers.

There was a scuffling sound across the room. The men were waking back up. Mr and Mrs Potter Stupified them both again, keeping them unconscious for a while longer.

"Come on, we're going back home," Euphemia said, referring to the Potters' house. She helped Y/N up and took her and the others outside quickly.

"You all ready to Apparate?" Fleamont asked quietly, holding one of his youngest in his arms, the other holding onto his hand.

Euphemia held Y/N and Lily's hands, while James held onto Y/N. Remus and Sirius held hands, Lily holding onto Remus's free hand.

With a loud crack, the group disappeared and reappeared again outside the Potters' house. Fleamont led them inside, still holding one of the twins, who had almost fallen asleep by now. When they stepped into the warm house, a small House-Elf scuttled over and offered to put the twins to bed.

While Fleamont and the Elf took the children upstairs, Euphemia took the others into the lounge room. There was a large, roaring fireplace lighting up the otherwise dark room, the flames dancing and crackling. There were three couches placed neatly in a circle, facing the fireplace, a coffee table sitting in the middle of it all on top of a deep red rug.

James led Y/N to one of the couches, guiding her stiff body to sit down on the soft cushions. The others followed their lead and sat awkwardly on the couches. Euphemia crouched down in front of Y/N, holding her hand comfortingly and rubbing her thumb over the surface of her cold skin.

"Are you hurt at all, dear?" she asked in a motherly voice. Y/N motioned towards her other hand, which, surely enough, was forming a large bruise.

Without a word, Euphemia took out her wand and fixed it up - she was a Healer after all. "Anywhere else?" she asked patiently.

"I-" Y/N started, but didn't seem to know how to make more words come out. "He um, I was kicked, um, a few times, in my stomach."

Euphemia quickly checked for any broken ribs and fixed anything that was wrong, the bruises that were forming disappearing in the process.
