I got broken up with yesterday. And I have writer's block! The thing is, I'm more upset about the writer's block. This will probably have like no plot, because I can't think of anything else to do. Fml.

That day's lunch was rather awkward: Petunia refused to speak to anyone and looked in disgust at us all; James and I were both too embarrassed to look at each other, which was worse because we had been forced to sit opposite each other (Sirius was trying to make us sit next to each other, but Lily saved me); Lara and Louis started asking awkward questions ("What did James and Y/N do when Sirius covered our eyes?" or "How was I made?"); Dad, Mr and Mrs Potter and Lily's Mum were too engaged in their own conversation to answer.

"Why won't anyone answer my question?" asked Lara, glaring at us all; nobody wanted to explain how babies were made.

With a sigh, Sirius started, "Well, kid, when two people get very, very drunk β€”"

"Pads!" hissed Remus, whacking his boyfriend on the arm.

{Time skip - that night}

"What's up with you and James?" Lily asked later that night, when we were alone.

"Hm? Oh, nothing. Why?" I asked, turning away from the redhead to hide the obvious blush on my face.

"Oh, come on! I know when you're crushing on someone, don't pretend like I don't," Lily said in an obvious tone. "Anyway, you weren't talking at dinner or at lunch β€” what happened?"

"Well, they were about to kiss earlier today."

Both mine and Lily's heads whipped to the doorway, where Sirius was leaning against the doorframe. I turned away again to hide the red on my cheeks.

"What do you want, Sirius?" I asked, kind of rudely.

"Woah, woah, no need to be sour," said Sirius calmly, putting his hands up in surrender. He walked into the room and sat next to Lily on her bed; Lily scooted away as far as she could.

"What is it, Black?" Lily hissed, narrowing her eyes at the black-haired boy, who so rudely invited himself to sit on her bed.

"Twins say we've gotta sleep in one room tonight," Sirius explained, still rather calm. "Slumber party."

Damn it. That means I'll be in the same room as James for an entire night. . . Wasn't lunch and dinner bad enough? Please someone tell me whyβ€”

"Because the twins said so, and, I mean, c'mon, no one can resist those two little demons."

"Shit... Did I say all of that out loud?" I asked, turning to look at the door to make sure no one else β€” *cough* James *cough* β€” heard. Luckily nobody was there.

"You kind of mumbled it..." Lily said quietly, giving me a sheepish look.

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. Why me?

Sirius laughed.

"I said that out loud too, didn't I?"

"Yup."

I needed to get this under control; Merlin, what if I accidentally confessed how I really felt about James to his face? He'd probably think I'm a weirdo, stop being my friend, and tell everyone about it... But James wasn't like that... Would he really, I mean, really do that?

Guess I'd have to find out...

"It's Christmas Eve! We've got to stay up and find Santa!" insisted Louis to Mrs Potter, who was growing more sceptical by the second.

"Pleeeeeeeeease, Mum?" begged Lara, beginning to pout, eyes watering. I swear, those two would become amazing actors one day.

"Oh no, don't cry, don't cry β€” sure! You can all stay up and try to spot Santa!"

Lara high-fived her twin behind their backs.

Apparently, they'd also convinced someone to put up enchanted mistletoe; the little plants were hung from doorframes or just in the middle of the room; if two people walked under it at the same time, they'd be stuck there, like in a bubble, until they kissed; it had already happened to Remus and Sirius, but that was probably just Sirius's excuse to kiss Remus.

I was sure it was Lara who suggested the mistletoe to her mother; either that, or Mr Potter, who was, of course, the 'cool dad' (as he called himself).

But I swear, I was going to murder whoever put it up; what if I got stuck under there!? Then what? How were we supposed to get out of it?

And worse, what if I got stuck under there with an adult!? Like, gross! Whoever came up with the idea of enchanted mistletoe is disgusting, I could have to kiss Petunia! Just the thought of it β€”

I ran into something hard. But there wasn't anything in front of me. I had just been entering the room all the kids were to stay in, with my blanket and pillow, but as I tried to take a step, I was stopped. It felt there was a wall in front of me, but I could see the room through it. Oh please dear god, noβ€”

I looked up above my head.

Fucking. Mistletoe.

I heard a groan behind me and turned around quickly. James looked down at me, a nervous expression on his face. As if this day wasn't already awkward enough!

"I β€” um β€”"

"Oh my God."

I turned around quickly, searching the room for whomever said that. Lily was standing there, one hand over her mouth, the other holding a pillow. She didn't seem to know whether she should be excited or pitiful; she was somewhere in between. Suddenly, another pillow hit her in the head from behind, and Sirius came running in through the sliding door. Lily hissed at him to stop, whacking his arm. Sirius stopped, but just then, Remus came running through, accidentally crashing into Sirius, making the two boys both fall over.

When the two boys stood back up, they were having a silent argument through their eyes, but Lily whacked them both up the side of the head and pointed at James and I under the mistletoe.

Sirius's face lit up immediately.

Both Lily and Remus slapped their hands over Sirius's mouth, but we could still hear him squealing like a little girl.
