"Okay everyone gather around" the coach clapped, grabbing the attention of the Kitagawa Daiichi players. They all gathered around the coach and a set of a couple of new first years. "I'd like to introduce you to the new first years joining the team!"

The coach continued to ramble on about the names and positions of the new members, but you couldn't care any less, they were just some first years who probably weren't going to end up playing that much.

"I-I'm Kageyama Tobio, I can play any position but I mainly play setter!"

Your attention was brought from the floor to a pair of gorgeous blue eyes, they looked like the ocean. No, the ocean's color looked lighter, the sky maybe? A definite nope.

You stood staring at the boy's eyes trying to decipher what kind of blue they were.

"Helloo~ M/N-chan! You're staring~" you saw a hand wave frantically in front of you.

You were snapped out of your thoughts, realizing you kept staring at the poor boy, and as luck would have it, was staring right back at you. To be honest, it could have been because you were weirding him out. "Wow M/N-chan already starting to take interest in a first year~"

"Oh shut up Oikawa" you push his face away, you turn back to the blue eyed boy and mouthed sorry to him with a nervous smile. He gave one back in return, and you swear you could feel butterflies inside your stomach. You looked back to the ground fiddling with your fingers going back to your previous thoughts, 'what does it look like..?'

"Alright let's get back to practice then!" Coach Amada yelled "I'll be pairing up the first years with some of you so you can help them feel more welcome!"

"Right!"

All the players walked back onto the court going back to what they were previously. You grabbed a ball and stared at it intensely 'it's on the tip of my tongue i know it.'

"Wow i don't think I've ever seen N/N-chan so concentrated during practice Iwa! He must actually be using his brain for something!" you grew a tick mark and threw the volleyball straight to Oikawa's face. "Would you shut the hell up! I get better grades that you shitty-kawa!"

The brunette got up holding his pounding head. "That's because you a second year M/N-chan. Third year classes are for more big brained people" he stuck his tounge out bidding behind Iwaizumi.

"Yeah yeah whatever." You rolled your eyes as you grabbed another ball from the cart near by.

"Kageyama since your mainly a setter I want you to work with Yachi and Oikawa."

Your head perked up and meet with the majestic blue eyes from before. The coach pointed toward your direction and the 1st year slowly walked in your direction.

Suddenly, Oikawa was right by your side. "Hey! Kageyama right?" The younger boy nodded his head. Oikawa placed his arm onto your shoulder and leaned on you.

"Well I'm Oikawa Tooru and this guy here is Yachi M/N. We're the setters of the team so we'll make sure to teach you good, underclassmen" you shrugged his arm off making him almost trip.

"Just so you know Tooru is a pain in the ass to deal with so I'm sorry if he gives you a hard time." You sighed and looked in his eyes again. 'Midnight blue maybe? No, that's kinda lighter..'

"N/N-chan why do you gotta be so mean~" he said clingy onto your arm. You slapped him in the head making him let go. "Come on Kageyama, we can see what your progress is right now. Well work with Iwa!" You flashed a smile at him.

His eyes seemed to be filled with determination and sparkled. "Okay, sure!"

'I can't find what it is.... I guess they might just be one of a kind.'

3rd year

"Damn it!"

You threw you shoes against the wall in the boys locker room. Tears started to flow down your face as a thousands of thoughts ran through your mind.

'why didn't I send it to Kindaichi. He had to opening shot. No blockers were there. And the team got 4th because of me.

You screamed into your towel falling onto the floor. After you removed the towel you tried you best to regain your breathing.

"M/N, are you okay..?" You hear a very familiar voice.

Your head snapped up and looked in the direction of the voice. There Kageyama was kneeling in front of you. You held your breath, his eyes looking confused and concerned.

"I'm sorry" you held your head down, ashamed "I should have sent the ball to Kindaichi, I cost us the game."

You feel him scoot closer, looking up you immediately see him holding out a can of F/D for you. "I figured you'd feel bad about that so I got you the last one in the vending machine." He gave a rare soft smile.

You couldn't help but smile back at him, a soft blush came across your face as your hands slightly brushed when you took the drink.

"You did your best out there M/N-Senpai" you gave a breathy chuckle and looked back up to him. "I told you Kageyama, you can call me M/N. We're close man I don't mind."

"Ah right" he said embarrassed. "T-then you can call me Tobio so it's fair!"

You looked at him a bit shocked at first but gave a big smile "Alright then. Tobio."

2 weeks before graduation

You were walking to the school gates with your friends until you heard an all to familiar black haired boy call out for you.

"M-M/N!" You turn around with a smile on your face. "Hey Tobio! What's up dude"

He was looking down, fiddling with his fingers. "Can um- can I speak to you, alone?" Suddenly 'OoH's' started coming from behind you.

You immediately became red and threw your wattle bottle at your friends behind you "Oh shut up!" You grabbed Kageyama's hand and walked off.

"Yeah get some M/N!" You hear your friend, Emi, say from a distance. A tick mark grew on your head. I swear to God Sakai Emi, your getting it when I see you tomorrow.'

You pulled the both of you away from the crowd and ended up behind the volleyball gym.

"So what's up Tobio?" You looked back at him, he seemed to nervous.

Cute.

"Well I-" he began trying to look you in the eye, but turning red immediately after. He slapped his cheeks and muttered to himself. You looked at him v e r y concerned. "Tobio? Are you-"

"M/N I like you!" He said with his head down. "I um- I wanted to tell you before you left.." his hands started to shake a little.

You look at him in disbelief and with a very red face. You immediately start crying because of the overwhelming serotonin you just got.

" Ah! M/N! What's wrong?!" You grabbed onto his shoulders and looked up at him tears still going down your face. " You LITERALLY have NO idea how long I wanted to tell youUu" your voice cracking a little at the end

He started laughing at your reaction, and it's like you fell in love all over again. He looked down at you with a sincere smile, the rare ones you were so thankful to get to see. He looked down to the side and you looked at him confused.

"Um can we- can we keep this a secret? I'm not really out yet.."

You looked at him and smiled. "Dude of course, how ever long it takes you. I'm willing to wait till your ready." He smiled at you again "thank you M/N"

You took a hold of his hand and threw both of your arms up in the air "Haha! Now commit, your stuck with my clingy ass now!!" You looked proud, placing you hands on your hips, still holding Kageyama's hand.

He sighed and looked at you "well it's not like you weren't already."

Miyagi Prefecture Tournament Volleyball Competition

You looked down to the court from the stands as a whistle was called. Your heart dropped as Kageyama was being switched out.
"Damn that really sucks. But I guess it was probably the best thing, no one's able to keep up with his sets." You hear Tanaka say from behind you. You couldn't hear Suga or Daichi responses, your mind was just racing with thoughts of what Kageyama was feeling.

'He's changed his play style.. but I guess that's what happens when you become official setter and the pressures on you to send good sets..'

As soon as the tournament was over you started to go on your own. "Hey! M/N! Where you going?" Tanaka yelled for you the two soon to be 3rd years stopped as well. "Ah. You guys go on without me, I wanna meet an underclassmen of mine!"

"Alright, get home safe!" Daichi said as they started to walk away. You gave a nod and started to look for Kageyama.

You turn the corner outside seeing Kageyama walk away from an orange haired kid, 'oh the kid with the incredible jump!' you say to yourself as you watch from the background. As soon as you see Kageyama start to walk away you make your way to him.

"Tobio!"

He flinched and slowly turned around, as well as some of the other teammates.
"Wow Yachi-Senpai, what are you doing here?" Kindaichi spoke, looking confused.

You swung your arm around Tobio and looked at the team "What? Can't come watch my underclassmen's tournaments?' you chuckled.

"It's good to see you again Yachi. How's Karasuno treating you?" Coach Amada asked. You took your arm off of Tobio and stuffed them in your pockets. "Ah, coach Ukai is really what they say he is. Hardly gives us a break" you let out a breathy laugh.

"You guys did great today! It was exciting watching the games!" They all smiled at you, "thank you"

You let out a chuckle "well I gotta get going now, I got tournaments coming up too"

"Ah well I hope you keep your promise of going to National's, Yachi" The coach said with a low chuckle and continue to walk to their bus.

"Ayo coach! You don't mind if I take Tobio do ya?" You say holding Kageyama behind be the collar of his jacket. "as long as you take care of him Yachi, I don't mind at all"

You gave a smile and turned back to Kageyama. As you too started to walk away from the rest of the team you could hear little snickers and remarks.

"Always the king's loyal knight in shining armour saving him."

You turn to glare at the teams remark. You know Tobio hated the stupid nickname his teammates gave him. And you especially hated it when you got called his 'LoYal KiGHt', it made it seem like Tobio was weak with out him.

And it made it seem like your only purpose for being around was just to be Kageyama's personal bodyguard and stand up for him.
"Say it again Kunimi, I dare ya!" You threw your fist up as you were walking backwards now. The team flinched and turned the other way continuing to walk to their bus.

You let out and sigh and looked towards Tobio. You knew he was feeling like a complete loser right now. You slowly took out a small yogurt you got from the vending machine early. You held it in front of the taller boy "here, I hope this can make you feel a little better."

He gave you a soft smile, even though it's not really anything much he deeply appreciated the gesture. You grabbed his free hand and continued to drag him down the street "Come on! Toka's making pork curries tonight!"

Beep! Beep! Be-

The H/C male slammed the snooze button, and pulled the covers over his head hiding himself from the sunlight.

"M/N!! Your going to be late for school! Hitoka is already ready and waiting for you!"

The boy groaned as he pulled the blankets off of himself and started his daily routine to get ready for school.

'huh now that I think about it, Tobio never told me what school we was officially going to. I wonder where..'
