twenty nine >>> shock

I run my hand through my hair as I make my way down the hall. I smirk at the ground, still able to feel Lexa's lips on me. It felt nice even the memory feels nice. A soft chuckle escapes as I get to my room and turn the door opening the door. I get in and shut the door behind me. When I turn around I find Titus sitting on the bed with an almost sad expression acrossed his face.

"Titus?" I say, tilting my head. He picks his head up and glares at me. "What are y-you doing in here?"

"I tried...I tried so hard to get you to leave," he spoke, looking away from me now and to the ground. I clench my jaw and look around the room honeslty really confused.

"W-What are you talking about?" I ask.

"You can't be here. All you've done since you've got here is distract the commander-" Titus pauses and picks his head up looking to me. Our eyes locking. "She has a duty Y/N. A duty to be our leader and you're clouding her judgement."

"Clouding her judgement? Titus, she can make her own decisions-"

"Yes she can, but with you around she's changed our peoples way. The commanders before her they can't be happy," he cuts me off and I roll my eyes, shaking my head.

"She's changing history-" I stop and go to turn till I see Titus stand and my eyes lock with something I know only my people have. I clench my jaw, fear rising in the pit of my stomach as my eyes stay on the gun. I turn back around, facing the bald headed guy slowly putting up my hands. "Titus think about what you're doing- She's going to know."

"No...Not if I cover it up. Act like you left with your people."

I shake my head, biting down on my teeth every several seconds. "Okay look. I'll g-go. I'll leave r-right now with Clarke and Octavia." He picks up the gun and points it at me. I back up a bit and let my hand linger on the knob.

"I can't let you do that now-" Titus pauses as he places his hand on the trigger. "Because as long as you live Lexa will never execute her duty!" Quickly I duck seeing his finger pull the trigger. I stand back up and dodge to the right then to the left and open the door, but duck once more, but hear my name. I freeze and look up, standing up just as quickly to meet Lexa's eyes. My eyes glance down to where her hands slowly rise seeing blood seep through her outfit.

"Lexa!" I shout taking a step forward as she falls forward. I catch her hearing Titus shout Heda, but I pay no attention to him as I pull Lexa into the room and over to the bed, laying her on her back. I clench my jaw feeling tears well up into my eyes. I look from her green eyes and down to the bullet wound, quickly placing my hands over it letting blood soak them.

"I need something to stop the bleeding!" I shout looking to my hands and applying pressure. My teary eyes look back up to Lexa moments after and shake my head. "You'll be okay. Just l-lie still okay? L-Lie still."

Lexa's eyes stare back into mine and soon I feel her hand reach up and place against my cheek. Barely her thumb moves back and forth on my cheek, as I stare down at her. "Don't be afraid," she barely gets out.

I shake my head and clench my jaw. "You're going to be fine, Lexa. Just stay still." My breathes get heavier as I keep pressing. I hear Titus doing something behind me, but once again I don't pay any attention to him. All I care about is Lexa and making sure she'll be okay. She has to be okay.

"She's losing a lot of blood-" I pause and look to Lexa's eyes finding them opening and closing. "Hey! Stay with me." As the words escape my lips I see Titus get closer and I spot something in his hands. "What the hell is that? Stay away from her!"

"Forgive me Heda," Titus whispers. Lexa's eyes tear from mine and look up to Titus.

"Yu na nou na again attempt gon bash op Y/N. Swear em. (You will never again attempt to harm Y/N. Swear it)," Lexa chokes out. I clench my jaw staring at her.

" Ai swear em. (I swear it)," Titus responds nodding his head.

"Then dula op bilaik dula.Β  Badan op nes as yu don served Ai, flamekeeper (Then do your job. Serve the next as you have served me, Flamekeeper.)"

I shake my head and lift one of my hands off of Lexa's wound and grab her hand from my cheek. I close my eyes together tightly. "Please, you can't go. Y-You can't give up," I whisper.

"Y/N..." her voice trails and I quickly open my eyes meeting her's. "I'm not giving up... My spirit will live on."

"No. I'm not letting you die- CLARKE!" I shout glancing over my shoulder. I feel Lexa's hand barely squeeze mine. I turn back around and lock eyes with Lexa's once more now seeing tears well up into them.

"There's nothing you can do now...The next Commander will protect you."

"N-No. I don't want the next Commander. I want you. I've always wanted you!" My voice was heavy, deep. Lexa closes her eyes and I squeeze her hand taking it off of my cheek. Her eyes reopen and she looks to Titus. Before anyone else could speak footsteps enter the room, but I can't take my eyes off of Lexa.

"Oh my god," Clarke's voice whispers and I don't see her beside me, which only means Titus has stopped her. I close my eyes clenching my jaw once more feeling Lexa squeeze my hand.

"Y/N..." Lexa whispers.

"I'm here... I'm here-" I say back, squeezing her hand back and getting closer to her as much as I possibly could.

"Ai gonplei ste odon (my fight is over),"Lexa whispers and I shake my head.

"No... I can't- I can't accept that-"

"You were right... life is about more than just surviving..." I shake my head and close my eyes bringing Lexa's hand up to my lips placing a gentle kiss against it.

"In peace may you leave the shore. In love may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels until our final journey on the ground... Ai hod yu in." Lexa's eyes go wide but I clench my jaw and close my eyes leaning down and placing a gentle kiss against her lips tasting the blood that spilled from her lips moments after she was shot. When I pull away Lexa's eyes flick to mine and I feel her squeeze my hand one last time.

"Lexa? Lexa?" My voice gets louder as I keep repeating her name. But she stares blankly at me. The life that once filled her eyes were no longer there. I close my eyes and clench my jaw tighter than I ever have and shake my head from side to side violently. I let go of Lexa's hand and turn to look at Titus immediately running towards him.

I swing my right arm managing to get one good punch in before feeling arms around me and pulling me back. I shake my head and struggle against Clarke as tears roll down my eyes as the memory of Lexa's eyes stay locked in my head anytime I close them. But I can't sit there. I fight back against Clarke and end up managing to get past her and run back to Titus. Within seconds I grab a hold of the gun in his robe. Clarke and Titus shout my name and I can hear Clarke saying something to me. But none of it matters as I place the gun to my right temple and finger on the trigger, closing my eyes....
