the "5/5" was at my house, since I offered them a ride to the fair since my mom owned as cadillac escalade. which would be big enough to fit all of us.

I got changed a hour earlier into an, 'essentials' track suit with some tan foam runners nothing to extreme since we're planning on staying out there til midnight.

"sol?" dd said making me look up from my phone screen displayed by 'hello kitty cafe' . "hm?" I said , turning my phone off and directing my attention to him.

"your mom said we're leaving soon" he said sitting on the edge of my bed. "oh okay, are they still playing hide n seek?" I said talking about vani, notti and ddot.

he shook his head yes, causing me to laugh at how anything could entertain the group.

I felt something rustle under my bed causing me to peep under there seeing ddot places his finger to his mouth indicating for me not to say anything.

I laugh at the boy as I grab my phone, swiping left to open the camera app viewing myself. dd glancing at me the whole time.

"you takin pictures today?" dd said, looking down at his phone, I set my phone in my lap "actually, why don't you take them for me!" I said standing up.

he groaned before standing up, as I took him by the arm leading him outside to the darkness; opening the car parked on the side of the street and sitting down.

"just hold down on the button, so it takes them all at once" I said handing the boy my unlocked phone. "nigga I know how to take pictures" he said angling the camera perfectly.

I just posed as he took the pictures, letting the light of the car and streetlights meet my skin complextion nicely.

he handed me the phone when he was done, swiping through the pictures I found one that stood out to me posting it on my insta story with the song "letter 2 you by J.I"

"thanks dee" I say smiling at the lightskin sliding my phone into my pants pocket. "mhm, send me the pictures" he said looking at the me.

I nod my head pulling my phone out and sending 10 attachtments to his contact '𝖽𝖽 🤍' .

I seen his face light up as he switched through each of the picture, causing me to get this weird ass feelings.

solána tighten up, cause I know you didn't just get butterflies over this druggie. I said trying to pep talk myself.

"sol?" dd says interrupt my train of thought; I shook off my thoughts coming back into reality seeing my mom, notti ddot and kavani walking out the door.

"wait, I need my purse" I said running back into the house; and up the stairs to my bedroom grabbing my black marc jacobs snapshot bag and putting my essentials in there.

I ran out the house, locking the door on my way out and entering the cadillac escalade, sitting in the third row with dd.

solána placed her right airpod pro in her ear and playing lil babys new album, she hummed to the song "never hating".

she looked out the window, nodding her head to the song before glancing at the lightskin beside her seeing him looking out the opposite window.

"david" she said causing the boys attention to turn to him, he quirked his eyebrow up in response. "let's make a deal" she said.

"don't let it be no stupid shit"

solána smiled, knowing exactly what she wanted from the boy it was the one thing she's been wanting since she's was 7. "I want you to win me the giant unicorn, like the one in despicable me" she testified.

"what am I getting out of this?" he said pausing the music being blasted from his AirPods.

solána choked at the question, not knowing what really to give the boy she didn't know what he liked, wanted or found amusing.

"we'll decide that later, so deal or no deal?"

dd looked at the brownskin who was smiling, which showed him she really wanted the item. "okay, deal" he said shrugging his shoulders before she smiled directing her attention back to the window.

A smile was planted on the boys face when she turned away..

we arrived at the fair, skipping the line since we had the express pass as the group stood at the entrance of all the rides.

"what first?" kavani yelled out, over the loud noises the group looked around; ddot's eyes trailing off to the food court. "nigga, fuck the rides let's get food" ddot says taking kavani by the arm notti following.

I made a gc with me, kavani notti and ddot making a plan for them to "magically" leave me and solána alone, I was trying to get to know the girl for who she was.

as a friend of course, we've made it clear we were just friends.

"let's get on the drop zone" I suggest as the girls eyes widen at my sudden words.

"hell nah, haven't you heard of that accident in the summer?" she said crossing her arms giving off an sassy attitude.

"that can happen with any ride, stop being pussy" I said laughing at the girl who looked at the tall drop zone in the distance.

"ooor we can get on the spinning swings" she said pointing to the swings swinging in the air; a little far away.

I shrugged my shoulders as we started walking in the direction of the swings, it was a long ass line so we waited me leaning against the railing as she stood infront of me.

"after this, we can get in the drop zone" she said looking up into my eyes, I looked down at her and nodded. "if you're scared we don't have to" I said, I didn't want her to be uncomfortable.

"I'll be fine, as long as you hold my hand" she said breaking the eye contact as she looked down at her feet.
she did this often when she was around me.

I just laughed at the girl as she hit me on my shoulder, before the line moved up a bit. She pulled out her iPhone and moved closer to me snapping a picture of us.

"for streaks" she said drawing an s on the picture before sending it off to people on snapchat.

the ride finally ended as it was time for me and solána to get on, she walked around the circular platform picking the two empty seats next to each other sitting down on the green one leaving the red one unoccupied.

I sat down and pulled the latch down, making sure it was secure before the workers did. "haven't been on this in a minute" she said pulling her latch down.

"mane this shit for babies" I said, hearing the girl groan in response kicking me with her leg closet to me. "I was tryna be nice, but you pushin it" she said looking at me.

I laughed seeing how heated the girls easily gets over small comments, which reminds me of myself.

the worker comes and checks all the seats, before constructing the ride, the chairs lifting as it spun around slowly, speeding up after every go around.

"ooo look at the view" the brownskin says pointing and smiling like a kid in the candy shop; I couldn't help but smile the thought of her just made me smile.

"why you looking like that?" solána says making me snap back, she laughed as the ride started coming to an end.

"ight now time for the drop zone" I said, following the exit sign from the circular platform the girl close behind.

she groaned as we were getting closer and closer to the ride I've been dying to get on, she grabs my for arm wrapping her arm around it as we continued walking.

"you promise to hold my hand before I get on this shit?"

I bursted out laughing at how serious the girl was about the 'dropzone' , I held out my pinky to her as she interlocked mines with hers a smile plastered on her face. "I promise" I said letting go of her pinky.

"𝐀𝐇𝐇𝐇𝐇𝐇𝐇𝐇" I screamed it getting cut off by the lack of oxygen as I gripped the lightskins hand sitting beside me, I could feel my breathe getting heavier.

all I heard was laughing beside me, as the ride started slowing down as it was coming to the end meeting the metal platform it was displayed on.

I quickly undid my seatbelt jumping out of the seat and running into dd's arm "I hate you, I hate you" I said burying my head into his chest; he laughed as he patted my back directing us to the exit.

"it won't even that bad, your such a baby" he said as we finally made it off the death platform. I hit him causing him to stumble back a little holding his hand against his chest in a "hurt" motion.

we both laughed, our laughter falling together as my phone started vibrating in my purse.

Incoming FaceTime called from '𝗏𝖺𝗇𝗂𝗂𝖻𝖺𝖾👩🏽‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏾' .

"heey" the girl from the other end chimed in, notti and ddot on either side of her. "yoo" I said placing the phone to my ear.

"we all about to get on the ferris wheel so meet us there" she said over a crowd of people. "Igh, we'll be there" I said speaking for me and dd.

I hung up the phone placing it back in my bag, zipping it so nothing comes out; interlocking me and dd's hand as I direct us to the ferris wheel.

"slow down" dd said as I'm practically dragging him by his hand to make it to the others before they get on the ride without us. "walk faster then" I said looking back at him as he picked up his pace .

"finally, y'all took forever" kavani said spotting the two walking up, causing solána to look at dd as he rolls his eyes for blaming him.

"yoo ána bro, they had the biggest bags of cotton candy" notti said, stuffing some of his leftover in his mouth. solána mouth dropped.

"and nobody brought me a bag?" she said looking at the group of 3, and seeing ddot with 4 bags. "no, but you can have one of mines" ddot said handing her one.

she scoffed taking the bag, as the line cut shorter as people were getting let on the ferris wheel. As they walked up, all 5 of them getting into one cart.

I sat in between notti and dd, as ddot and kavani had the other side to themselves, it was literally no room inside of the pod.

"bru this tight ass space, solána sit ontop of dd or something" notti said budging me over a little causing me to elbow him.

I look at dd and he moves his hand off of his lap, showing that's it's fine and I sit there, he carefully ravels his arms around my waist.

"awhhh" ddot and kavani called out, causing my face to immediately heat up burying it in my sweatshirt, as I felt dd's grip around me get tighter.

"y'all so eww, hope everybody here end up being related" notti said looking out the opened window from the pod, as the pod starts rotating.

"you suggested it" I said sneaking a look at notti lifting my head up from my sweatshirt. He sucked his teeth causing dd and ddot to laugh.

"notti wait til kavey comes we got you for real y'all perfect for each other" kavani said, causing me to shake my head in agreement.

I look out the pod, as we're finally high enough to see the whole fair grounds spotting the colorful lights from above, a smile being placed on my face.

"this is painnn" ddot said looking out of the open window, pointing down to the ground him and kavani's hands interlocked, I smiled finally see my heart happy.

the ride came to an end, as we got off we all were making small jokes and conversations as we were walking around we made it to the booth I was waiting for.

"DD, I want it I want it" I say jumping up and down like a five year old, pointing to the gigantic unicorn.

he stops, causing ddot notti and kavani to stop and viewing the unicorn, "bro that shit is bigger then you" ddot said, kavani spotted the giant monkey and begged ddot for it.

so the boys had a mission. ' get the giant stuffed animals' .

ddot and dd , we're making buckets left to right trying to make twenty points enough to win the giant stuffed animals the girls been begging for while notti helped each of them.

and finally ' we have two winners' the worker called out asking the boys what they'd like, them both picking out the items the girls begged them for.

"awhhh, he's so fluffy im gonna die" i said smiling at the big fluffy unicorn that was placed into my arms by dd. causing him to laugh.

"thankkk you" I say pulling dd into a hug placing a kiss on his cheek, seeing his face light up.

I looked over at my bestfriend who was now raveled up with ddot, her obviously happy about the item she just got.

our fair trip came to an end, but it was by far the best day ever!
