•Oh So Long•

Kyle and I have been talking for quite some time now, nine months.
Nine months of us talking, going out, hooking up, kissing.
Nine months and he has yet to ask me if I'll be his girlfriend, at this rate he should just ask me to be his wife!

I'm kidding of course! I think...
I don't know! I just know that I love him, and love is a strong word, but that's how I feel, I'm so deeply in love with him and he doesn't even know it!

"Kyle?" I answered my door, it's currently ten at night, so this visit was a surprise.
"Hi." He smiled staring at the ground, he'd yet to make eye contact with me since I've answered the door.
"Hi, umm what're you doing here?"
"I missed you." He spoke, but it sounded more like a question than an answer.
"Come in." I moved aside so he could come inside, I watched as he moved past me, he still hasn't made eye contact, though I did notice the way he was continuously rubbing his hands over his pants, he did that a lot when he got nervous.

"Tuck, are you okay? You seem nervous."
"I'm umm, can we talk?" He stuttered.
"Sure." I lead the way to my living room, taking a seat on the sofa.
"So?" I questioned while staring at him, he wasn't making eye contact, and I'm only making it such a big deal cause he is huge on eye contact.
"I know this isn't romantic or anything, hell I should've waited to actually give you a night out, a fancy dinner, something more than this." Kyle rambled.
"Y/n, we've been talking for a while, like a long time and I've been so hesitant on asking you this question..." Kyle began to trail off, he straightened his posture and finally made eye contact.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked solemnly.
I wanted to overreact, and scream 'YES' as if he'd just proposed, but I was stumped as to why he'd been hesitant on asking me.

"Took you long enough!" I laughed pushing his arm.
"So that's a yes?" He smiled widely pulling me into his lap.
"Yes, I will gladly be your girlfriend and soon to be fiancé." I smirked pressing my lips to the corner of his mouth.
"Is that so?"
"Nine months to be your girlfriend? I deserve to be your wife at this point."
"Someday." He smiled, staring directly into my eyes.
It was chilling, the way he stared so intently, like I was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, it made me feel so warm yet so cold at the same time.

"Kyle." I whispered into the silence that had surrounded us.
"Mmm?"
"Why were you so hesitant on asking me to be your girlfriend?"
Kyle inhaled a deep breath and softly blew it out before tucking a strand of lose hair behind my ear.
"I was afraid you'd say no, that maybe you weren't ready yet." He sounded truthful, I understand why he'd think that, he knows about my last relationship.
I nodded my head and turned my face away from his.
I felt tears begin to well up in my eyes, I'm not sure why I'd got this sudden wave of emotions.

"Hey, look at me love." He cupped my face and guided it towards him.
"What's the matter?" He asked wiping the tears off of my face.
"I don't know!"
"I've got you." Kyle frowned at my saddened state and held me in his arms.
"I love you Y/n, more than words." That's the first time he's said 'I love you' and it quite literally took my breath away.

Although I'd been feeling love for him for months now, I never had the courage to say it.
"I love you Kyle..."

This sucks, I hate it.

I promise they'll get longer, and more interesting? As time goes on, I just kind of have to adjust myself into the baseball imagines, I've been writing the NFL ones for so long that my mind is still partially thinking of those personalities when I'm writing for MLB.
I promise they'll get better.

Apart from this imagine, today I got a Tatis jr baseball card! I was talking about how much I love Tatis yesterday, and this morning my mom's bf handed me a Tatis card. I'm so happy, I adore Tatis so much🥹🫶🏻

I took a picture to show you all!
It's now in my phone case🤭 so now I get to see Tatis 24/7😍🫶🏻
