─────────────── Together you and Elena walk down the stairs into the kitchen where you can near the TV placing throughout the bottom floor.

"Scum ball. Scum bucket" Jenna says to the TV

"Who are you talking to?" you and Elena ask in unison

"Him" Jenna says pointing to the news guy

"The news guy?" you ask her

"Also known as Logan Scum Fell, did your mum ever tell you why i moved away from Mystic Falls?" Jenna asks the two of you

"No way, you and him?" you ask her again

"He's cute" Elena says sitting down at the table

"He is not cute. there is nothing cute about him." Jenna says and turns off the TV as you sit down next to Elena

"Yeah, i gotta agree that guy is not cute" you say making Jenna smiles at you

"What are you doing with that?" Jenna asks looking at what Elena is polishing

"I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box. Mum told Mrs Lockwood that she would loan it to the Founders Council for their heritage display" Elena says and Jenna grabs a ring

"Is that Grandma Beths wedding ring?" Jenna asks

"Originally it was Great-great-Grandma Mary's wedding ring" you tell her when Jeremy walks over and grabs the watch

"How much do you think this stuff is worth on eBay?" Jeremy asks

"No" you say snatching it out of his hand and putting it back in the box

"You're not gonna find out" Elena says to him

"That stuff is mum and dads you cant just give it away" Jeremy says walking over to the kitchen

"She's not giving it away" you tell him

"It's called a loan, Jeremy" Elena says as the doorbell rings

"Hey, bon bon" you say walking into the kitchen to see Bonnie sitting there

"Hey, i wanted to ask you something" she says to you

"Sure, what is it?" you ask sitting down next to her

"I was wondering is you would go to the Founders party with me?" she asks you

"I would love to. I'm guessing Caroline is going with Damon"

"Yeah she is" she says and grabs some nails polish

"Delicate Flower versus Naughty Vixen?" she asks

"Touch call" Elena says

"Mmm Delicate Flower" you tell her and she nods

"Look at you getting all pretty for your date. You seen happy-ish" Bonnie says to Elena

"I am happy-ish. Tonight's gonna be a good night. But don't let that stop you from telling me whatever it is you wanted to tell me as soon as you walked in the door" Elena says as she sits down

"What if i tell you in the morning? I don't want to ruin the night" Bonnie asks the girl

"Bonnie spill" you say turning in your seat to her

"Okay, but it has to go in the vault because Caroline will kill me if it gets back to Damon that she squealed" Bonnie says looking at both of us and you nod

"Uh-huh" Elena says and Bonnie puts on a worried expression looking at you both

"Do you know what happened with his ex-girlfriend Katherine?" Bonnie asks

"I know that they both dated her and that's why they have issues " Elena answered

"Yeah, they both dated her, only she chose Damon and that drove Stefan mad. So he did horrible things to try and break them up. He manipulated Katherine. He filled her head with all these lies until finally it worked and she turned against Damon" Bonnie tells the two

"That sounds like one persons side of the story" Elena says

"Meaning Damon's" you finish off

"I just wanted you to know" Bonnie says

"Anyways his past relationships are none of my business" Elena says

"Unless he's a calculating, manipulative lier. That is you business" Bonnie says painting her nails

"Stefan is none of toes things" Elena tells her

"Yeah how do you know?"

"Hi Mayor Lockwood" Elena says the five of you walk up to the Lockwood mansion

"Hey! Hey guys come on in" Mayor Lockwood says to us

"Thank you" Stefan says

"Have fun" Mayor Lockwood says

As you walk inside arm in arm with Bonnie you look over to see Caroline talking to her mum than you turn to see Damon as he is already looking at you.

He was completely stunned in how you look, he could feel his heart skip a beat when you smile at him making him smile back as he watches you continue to walk with Bonnie.

"The founding family's of Mystic Falls welcome you to inaugural Founders Council Celebration. Wow. Look, it's the original guest registry. Look all these familiar names Sheriff William Forbes, Mayor Benjamin Lockwood" Elena reads as you stand with her and Stefan

"Is that Damon Salvatore? And Stefan Salvatore?" you ask confused as you look at the register

"The original Salvatore brother. Our ancestors. Tragic story actually" Damon says coming up to the three of you with Caroline

"We don't have to bore them with stories of the past" Stefan says to him

"It's not boring Stefan. I'd love to hear more about your family" Elena says to Stefan

"(n/n), you look hot" Caroline says looking at your dress and blazer

"Thank you Carebear, you look hot too" you say linking arms with her and you turn to see Damon smiling at you 

"Well, i'm bored. I wanna dance and Damon won't dance with me" Caroline says

"Mm-hmm" Damon sounds looking away form you

"Could i borrow your date?" Caroline asks Elena

"Oh, uh" Elena stutters unsure

"I don't really dance" Stefan says to her

"Oh, sure he does. You should see him. Waltz. The jitterbug, the moon walk. He does it all" Damon says smiling

"You wouldn't mind, would you Elena?" Caroline asks

"It's up to Stefan" Elena says with a shrug

"Well, sorry, i'm not taking no for an answer" Caroline says grabbing his arm and dragging him away

"I want to apologise to you (y/n), for being such a world-class jerk the other night when i tried to kiss you. There is no excuse. My therapist says i'm acting out trying to punish Stefan" Damon says looking at you

"For what?" you ask him

"It's all in the past. I don't even want to bring it up. Let's just say men in the Salvatore family have been cursed with sibling rivalry. And it all started with the original brothers. The Salvatore name was practically royalty in this town until war, there was a battle here-"

"The battle of Willow Creek" Elena cuts in

"Right" Damon says forgetting she was still with the two of you

"We talked about it in class. Confederate soldiers fired on a church with civilians inside" you tell him

"What the history books left out was people that were killed, they weren't there by accident. They were believed to be unique sympathiser. So some founders on the confederacy side back then wanted them rounded up and burned alive. Stefan and Damon had someone they loved very much in the church. And when they went to rescue them they were shot. Murdered in cold blood" Damon explains to the twins

"Who was in the church that they wanted to save?" you ask him

"A woman i guess, doesn't it always come down to a love of a woman?" Damon says looking into your eyes

"Look i'm sorry that you and Stefan have this thing between you, but we can't get in the middle of it, Damon. I just hope you two can work it out" Elena says to him

"I hope so too" Damon says looking away from you to Elena but then back at you

"This is my fault. I planted doubt. i'm a doubt-planter" Bonnie says to Elena as the three of you sit in a room as Elena explained what happened with Stefan

"It's not your fault. I said i wouldn't get in the middle of it and that's exactly what i did. I got all snotty" Elena says annoyed

"Elena, honey, there you are." Mrs Lockwood says walking into the room "I noticed the watch still isn't in the collection" she says

"Oh, um" Elena stutters out

"I'm sorry, Mrs Lockwood we couldn't find it. It much be still boxed up in our parents things" you tell her for Elena knowing she gave it to Jeremy

"I see. Well please let me know if you both do find it" she says

"Okay" you and Elena say unison

"Carebear, i miss you, ditch Damon and hang out with me" you say hugging her as you and Elena walk into the bathroom

"Definitely will, i need some time with my best friend" she says smiling

"So Elena, how are you and Stefan?" Caroline asks as you fix your necklaces

"Great. Just great" Elena answers as she touches up her lipstick

"Really? Well my radar must be off cause i was getting all sorts of other vibes" Caroline says and she leans forward which makes her scarf lift up and you see something on her neck

"What is that?" you ask her

"Hmm?" Caroline sounds questions, you than go to move her scarf but she moves back "D-don't" she says but you ignore her and lift it up to see a bite mark

"Oh my god!" you say and Elena comes over to see it

"Caroline, what happened?" Elena asks her

"Nothing, okay?" Caroline says

"That is not nothing" you tell her

"Did someone hurt you?" Elena asks

"No, okay, it's nothing, it just my mum would kill me" Caroline says and you pull down her cover and see another bite mark on her shoulder

"Did Damon do this?" you ask her

"Did Damon hurt you?" Elena asks

"No of course not" Caroline says pulling her cover back up. Elena than goes to check more places but Caroline stops her

"Just leave me alone okay, Elena, (y/n)? God" Caroline says walking out of the bathroom you go to call out to her but the door closes but that doesn't stop you, you walk out of the bathroom to find Damon

"There is something serious wrong with you. You stay away from Caroline or i swear to god you won't be happy at how it ends. I will go to the Sheriff, her mother. You got it? Stay away from her" you say to Damon angrily as Elena grabs your hand and pulls you over to Stefan

"I'm sorry. I take it all back. You're completely right about Damon" Elena says to him

"What did he do?" Stefan says

"There are bruises all over Caroline, bite marks. He's got her all confused and messed up in the head" you tell him

"You don't look surprised" Elena says confused

"Um, i'm handing it" Stefan says

"Handing it?" you and Elena both say

"What the hell does that mean?" you ask angrily "He's hurting her Stefan, i can't just wait for you to handle it, she's my best friend"

"Stefan, you should be having him arrested" Elena says

"Elena, (y/n) please, i-i don't expect you both to understand-

"We don't understand anything, Stefan, why don't you clear it us for us?" Elena asks

"Look, there are things that you both don't know, okay? Things that i want to tell you, but i can't. And may never be able to. And i need you both to trust me" Stefan tells her

"Trust is earned" you and Elena say

"We cant just magically hand it over" Elena says

"I'm so sorry. I have to go" Stefan says walking away

"I need to find Caroline" you say to Elena

"Yeah, i'll help"

You and Elena have been looking all over the Lockwood property trying to find Caroline, the both of you walk down in the back where the lake is and you see Caroline standing in the middle of the grass.

"Caroline" you and Elena call out 

"There you are" you say running up to her "We've been looking for you everywhere"

"Are you okay?" Elena asks her catching up to you

"Yeah, I'm fine" Caroline says

"Caroline, What happened?" you ask her as she begins to breathing heavy

"Are you hurt?" Elena asks

"I'm fine" Caroline says

"No, you're shaking" you say putting my hands on her shoulders

"Caroline" Elena says and she starts shaking even worse

"I'm find, i'm fine" Caroline says shaking her head

"No you're not, come here" you say pulling her into a hug and she starts to sobs on your shoulder and you feel Elena join "Its okay, i got you, it's going to be okay" you say rubbing her back
