you sit in katsuki's room awaiting his return to see if you could clear up the thick air that had been formed, until you heard a shriek downstairs.

"KATSUKIIIIIII!!!"

'uh, who's that?'

you were unaware of the voice, and didn't know who it belonged to.

'and why are they on a first name basis with him?'

'nope, this is karma for you y/n. it doesn't matter who they are anyways.'

yet you still got up from the seat, crept down the stairs.

"it's been way too long katsuki!"

you look and see a fawn haired female hugging katsuki as he tries to push her off.

"not long enough, now get the f*ck off of me."

you cringed at the awkward situation you were watching.

the fawn frowns. "oh c'mon katsuki! is that anyway to speak to your girlfriend?!"

your eyes widen and you cover your mouth in shock. 'GIRLFRIEND?! HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A GIRLFRIEND!'

you crouch down and cover your head with your hands. 'sh*t! i was about to become a homewrecker!'

katsuki scoffs and rolls his eyes. "don't pull that sh*t camie, it's EX girlfriend. so i don't really care how i speak to you."

'oh, phew, it's his ex. WAIT, WHEN DID HE GET THE TIME TO GET AN EX?!'

you facepalm. 'duhhh, probably the same time you did y/n?!'

your facepalm was a bit too loud and that led the duo to look over to your direction.

you pick yourself up from the floor, and dust your clothes off and act as if you were just coming down the stairs.

once you reach their sight, you bowed slightly. "katsuki. stranger." you the point to the kitchen. "i only came to get something to drink, don't mind me."

katsuki noticed your over formal speech, but thought it was just because someone you didn't know was there. so he brushed it off.

katsuki sighs and looks over at the female in front of him. "what are you even doing here camie?"

camie looks down with a slight blush and fiddles with her fingers. "i- well... wanted to see if you wanted to get ba-"

you knew what camie was after, so you interrupted her. "ALRIGHT, NOW THAT I'VE GOT MY DRINK, I'M GOING UPSTAIRS! HAVE FUN!"

you grit your teeth and head up the stairs while mumbling. "but not too much fun, or i'll kill you both."

or at least you pretended to head up the stairs when in reality, you went back to your hiding spot.

"so what were you saying again?"

camie laughs and pushes it aside. "ah, no, i wanted to know if you wanted to hang out."

katsuki puts a hand behind his neck contemplating his choices. "i don't know if that's a good idea. we broke up for a reason."

camie sighs but tries to convince katsuki otherwise. "yeah, but we were really good together!"

'they were...?'

"we only broke up because we didn't have much time, but now both of our schedules are clear, so i wanna try again."

katsuki stands there for a minute before his response. he lets out a sigh with a small smile. "yeah, okay. let's try again."

'what?'

camie giggles and throws her arms around him.

this time katsuki didn't push her away and wrapped his arms around her body.

"okay, i'll call you tonight!"

camie starts to head out the door, but katsuki stops her. "wait, let me walk you home."

the girl nods excitedly, and katsuki puts his shoes on, that were near the door.

after that, they left.

you didn't even realize the tears that were streaming down your face.

you put your hand up to your face and wipe the tears.

you look down at your tear stained hand. "huh? when did i start crying?"

you shrug your shoulders and head up the stairs. "oh well, it's not the first time i've been disappointed..."

you walk to kaoru's room and take a deep breath as you put your biggest smile on.

you open the door. "KAORU!!"

she jumps outta bed and engulfs you in a hug.

she wiggles her eyebrows. "sooo~ did you and kats talk?"

you giggle. "so that's the reason you called me over her?"

"well of course! anyways what happened?!"

you put a finger on your chin. "well, katsuki got mad at me for ghosting him."

you let out a slight chuckle remembering how kaoru wasn't even mad, just worried. maybe because she knows your situation.

"i apologized to him. and i almost kissed him."

"WAIT, WAIT, LIKE A REAL KISS?!"

"yes, yes, like a real kiss."

"THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU?!"

you shrug. "i chickened out."

kaoru sighs. "okay, what happened next?"

"well before we could talk about anything, someone was at the door."

"oh yeah, i heard mom calling him. do you know who it was?"

"oh yeah, it was his ex girlfriend. well maybe i should say current girlfriend."

"wait, BACKUP?! EX?! CURRENT?! WHAT THE H*LL IS GOING ON HERE?!"

"oh, they recently got back together. like just a couple of minutes after she came to see him."

your lips start to quiver and your eyes water, but once again you didn't notice it.

"i don't think he's home right now, he ended up walking her home." you look up at kaoru with your tears overflowing. "you know i watched the whole thing go down. i watched as he smiled at her with the same smile he gives me."

at this point you were breaking down. "h-hey, kaoru, is there something wrong with me? am i-i not enough for him? i should have just told him how i felt right? direct rejection would be better than indirect r-right?"

kaoru's eyes start watering with you and she engulfs you in a hug to comfort you. this is the first time she's ever seen you break down, and it broke her heart.

"it's not j-just katsuki either. it seems like my life is in shambles but everyone expects me to smile when i never asked for this. the abuse, the hate, the heartbreak, ALL OF IT! all i want is my family back. WHy did mom have to leave him? WHY DID SHE LEAVE HIM WITH ME?! I HAtE It SO MucH KAORU! S-SO F*CKinG much..."

your grip on her shirt loosens. "i'm so tired... i'm tired of it all..."

kaoru's voice comes out in a whisper. "i'm so sorry y/n... if i could take your pain away, i would. and i know your tired, but you can always come to me. i'll be your energizer, okay?"

"yeah... i'll always have you kaoru, thank you. for everything."

kaoru gives you a soft and genuine smile. "you don't have to thank me for anything. i'll stay by your side till the end of time."

she then places you in her bed, and you end up crying yourself to sleep.

'it's you and i till the end of time.'
