Five months later

"Why the hell would they name their first child after you, Nia?" I say and roll my eyes when the first Fairy King places a hand on his chest, faking a gasp as his amber eyes widen in mock shock.

"Just picture it, darling," he insists and spreads his pale hands above our heads, our shoulders bumping. "The first child of Sir Darval and Lady Alya, Gloxinia. Actually, scratch that idea. You know what? Maybe they could use my nickname? Nia could be used for either a boy or a girl."

"I'd rather they didn't," I whisper as we start climbing up a hill. "I gave you that nickname and..."

"And?" my husband gently pushes on and pokes his head over my shoulder. "What's wrong—"

"That was a name I gave you," I say shyly as I slowly push back a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"Oh," Gloxinia says simply as he pulls back. "Oh, I see. That's a name for just the two of us."

"Idiot," I say quietly once we reach the top of the hill that oversees a mass of green trees.

"I'm sure Darval and Alya already have a couple of names in mind," Gloxinia notes and grabs my hand to drag me into the huge forest that leads to the Elf kingdom. "We'll find out soon."

"Uh-huh," I agree with him and let myself get pulled along. "How're your wings feeling today?"

"Good as always," my husband answers me and shoots me a flashy grin. "How're your feet?"

"We haven't been walking for that long, Nia," I tell him. "It's only been three hours since we left."

"Good thing we weren't that far from the Elf kingdom," Gloxinia says as he unconsciously rubs his thumb along my cool knuckles, his warmth spreading over my entire hand.

Ever since Adonis and Nova's grand wedding three months ago, the first Fairy King and I have been travelling around Britannia to visit different kingdoms and sites and these three months have been just so much fun for me. Knowing the Elf kingdom will be in good hands has allowed me to relax and enjoy my time with my husband who's been a huge goofball the entire time.

But while the two of us have been enjoying one another's company, there has always been the looming thought of my end drawing closer and closer. However, I don't regret my decision of keeping this a secret from the others because this has allowed me to see everyone happy and comfortable with their new duties and responsibilities in this new life where we're all free.

I may not have long left to live but these past couple of wonderful months have brightened my world so much more and if my heart is this content when I die, then it was all worth it in the end.

But what really terrifies me is the fact that I may be resurrected in a time when there are brand new generations I won't recognise. I mean, look what happened to my younger brother. It took 3,000 years before he was reborn again. What if that happens to me when I'm reborn again?

And if this does happen to me, I won't be able to see any of my family and friends again and such a dreadful thought makes me want to throw up right now. I won't be able to see Elaine, Ban, Gowther, Merlin, King, Diane, Meliodas, Elizabeth, Zeldris, Gelda, Hawk, Darval, Garion, Alya, Vespera, Adonis, Drole, Gerheade, Arthur, Nova, Gloxinia—

"Woah, easy there," my husband murmurs, quickly catching me when I trip on one of the roots of the trees. "You alright there, love? You seem a bit distracted. Is there something on your mind?"

"No, don't mind me," I answer, smiling at him as I look up. "I was just thinking about the baby."

"Hmm, me too," he says quietly and returns the smile, wrapping an arm around my waist before kissing the corner of my eye. "Can't wait to see the little one. But hey, we're nearly there now."

"Nia," I say his nickname and he instantly hums as a sign that he heard me. "Say that I lost my memories and I could be literally anywhere in Britannia, would you come looking for me?"

"That's a really weird question," he notes. "Why're you asking something like that, darling?"

"Because I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if the two of us were cursed just like Elizabeth and Meliodas," I lie through my teeth. "What if you were in the same position as Dad?"

"I would search Britannia a million times to find you, (Y/n)," my husband says adamantly and then squeezes my hand. "Trust me, nothing in this world would stop me from finding you."

"But you know, I would still want you to live your life," I say quietly and tilt my head to the side.

The Fairy next to me immediately flinches at this and opens his mouth to say, "But I wouldn't—"

"I would want you to help our daughter grow," I go on. "I would want you to help guide the Fairy King in any way possible. I would want you to keep checking up on Dad and Elizabeth in Liones."

"Please let's not talk about this, (Y/n)," Gloxinia says with a strained voice as we come to a stop and he presses his forehead against mine, a pained expression taking over his pale face. "It really hurts my heart when you talk about stuff like this. I know you can't help it at times since this is something we always did during the Holy War but it's all over now. You can rest now, darling."

My heart shatters terribly when I hear the love of my life say this so I say nothing else and let him kiss me softly on the lips, gently pulling me along again. Biting hardly onto my bottom lip, I lean my head on my husband's warm shoulder and focus on the grassy path ahead of the two of us.

"I love you so much, (Y/n)," I hear Gloxinia whisper once we catch sight of the Elf kingdom.

"I love you too, Nia," I respond quietly as always and allow a weak smile to take over my lips.

"Lady (Y/n) and Sir Gloxinia are within sight!" I hear someone suddenly yell gruffly before several armoured Elf soldiers appear in front of us. "Your Majesty, are the two of you well? Would either of you like anything? We have a few drinks and some food if you're thirsty or hungry."

"Oh, how thoughtful of you," I murmur when some of the Elf soldiers offer us a tray of different foods and glasses of water. "Why, this is very kind of you to wait for us on the outskirts. Well, I wouldn't mind having some water and trying out some of these snacks. What about you, Nia?"

"I think I'll just have some water," he answers and grabs a glass after I have. "Thanks, guys."

"Of course," the Elf soldier who first spoke says and bows his head respectfully to the both of us.

"Why don't we all head over to the palace while having these snacks," I suggest and all of the Elf soldiers nod their heads at this and start leading the way while Gloxinia stays close by my side.

"So is the baby well?" I openly ask while grabbing some of the delicious looking biscuits.

"The baby is healthy, Lady (Y/n)," the Elf soldier from earlier answers but says nothing more.

"I notice you haven't mentioned the gender of the baby," I point out with an intrigued smile.

"Lady Alya would have our heads if we did," he responds and then visibly shivers at the thought of angering my old attendant. "She told us to say nothing about the baby's gender to you."

"I see," I say once I've finished my biscuits and then chuckle when some of the Elf soldiers still look quite nervous. "Rest easy. I promise my husband and I won't ask more about the baby."

Once all of us have passed through the main gates of the Elf kingdom, I hear loud cheers and I blink in shock when many Elves crowd around us, happy and cheerful faces filling my vision.

"My lady, how have you been?" someone calls out from the mass of Elves.

"Do you need to eat or drink anything before you head on?" someone asks before I can answer.

"Have you been able to rest well, my lady?" someone else questions just as I open my mouth.

"Everyone, thank you for checking up on me," I say with a very grateful smile. "My husband and I had an amazing time travelling around Britannia and the sights we saw will forever remain as precious memories in my mind. We've already eaten and we're heading to the palace right now to see Sir Darval and Lady Alya's newborn baby. Has anyone actually seen the little one?"

"None of us have, my lady," one of the Elves in front of me answers with an excited grin. "Queen Nova has kept both Sir Darval and Lady Alya inside the palace with the newborn baby. They wish for you and Sir Gloxinia to see the baby before officially revealing the child to all of us."

"Ah, I see," I say as I loop my arm around Gloxinia's. "Then I suppose my husband and I should quickly head over to the palace to see the little one so that all of you can see the baby as well."

"Take care, my lady!" a couple of the Elves call out as Gloxinia and I slowly start walking towards the large palace while other Elves say, "It's wonderful to see you again, my lady!"

"Thank you," I say cheerfully and bow my head to all of them. "Thank you, everyone."

"You're still so much like a Queen," Gloxinia muses and I playfully bump my hip against his.

"It's been quite a while since we've been back here," I say breathlessly when we enter the palace through the main entrance. "Our daughter's tidied up the place a little bit since last time."

"Indeed, she has," Gloxinia quietly agrees with me as we climb the stairs to the second floor.

"Lady (Y/n) and Sir Gloxinia, this is the room," one of the Elf soldiers says and extends a hand to one of the doors as he stares at the ground. "Please call out to us if you require anything."

"Thank you," I say and the moment I say this, the Elf soldiers swiftly head back downstairs.

"Ready?" the first Fairy King asks me as he places his palm flat against the wooden door.

"As long as you are," I tell him cheekily and Gloxinia fondly rolls his amber eyes at this remark.

After I nod my head affirmatively, my husband pushes open the wooden door and the two of us slowly enter the massive room and immediately start frowning when we notice that there's no one in the room. But at the centre of the room, there's an elegant-looking cradle that clearly has a baby in it. I let go of Gloxinia's arm and we both head over to the cradle and take a look inside.

"Oh, look at you," I coo quietly when we see an adorable baby fast asleep. "You're beautiful."

Looking over to Gloxinia, he smiles widely to let me know that I can go first so I gently pick up the baby wrapped in warm blankets from the cradle and slowly bring the little one to my chest. Cooing quietly, my husband raises a pale hand and lightly strokes the baby's rosy cheek.

"You must be a boy," I whisper as Gloxinia moves closer. "Look at all of these blue decorations."

"We have the perfect name for him if you will allow it, (Y/n)," we hear a voice suddenly speak.

Heart beating quicker, Gloxinia and I squeak and turn around to see Nova, Darval, and all of my old attendants standing at the entrance now, smiles and smirks on all of their pleased faces.

"The perfect name?" I question and raise an eyebrow. "And what might that be, Alya dear?"

Alya shares an elated look with her husband and then turns back to us, saying, "Eero."

Sucking in a sharp breath at this, I purse my lips to control myself but my lips still start to wobble and I can feel large tears fill my eyes but not fall yet. Chuckling softly, Gloxinia gives a quick kiss on my cheek and then looks down at the little Elf in my arms with pure love in his amber eyes.

"Really?" I choke out, voice filled with emotion. "You want to name your son after my brother?"

"We have a backup name if you'd rather not," Darval says, waving his hands in front of him.

"We do?" Alya questions and shoots her husband a confused look. "Since when, dear?"

"Yeah," he says very slowly, blinking. "I mean, we can always name him after me."

"Darval, no," Alya groans while everyone laughs quietly so we don't wake up the baby.

"I'm sure my younger brother wouldn't mind at all," I say and look back down at the little one.

"Then we're naming him Eero," Alya says happily, squealing when everyone starts hugging her.

Silently, I admire the baby Elf's smooth, olive-green hair he got from his father and the pale skin he got from his mother. I gasp lightly when the newborn shuffles around a bit in his blankets and then slowly opens his eyes for the first time. And I can't help but smile at the magnificent sight.

"Hello, young Eero," I breathe as I stare into the little one's glowing blue eyes that are the exact copy of his mother's. "I'm sure you're going to grow up to become someone your parents will be very proud of. The Holy War is finally over so you were born into a world of peace and harmony so as a descendant of this era, you have the duty of keeping this peace and to be happy, Eero."

One month later

"Something on your mind right now, (Y/n/n)?" I hear the Demon who raised me question quietly.

"Hmm?" I hum lightly. "No, sorry. My mind's just wandering to random places it shouldn't be."

"Oh?" the King of Liones says as we continue to stare at the clear blue skies above. "Like where?"

"Thoughts about the future," I answer slowly as the sounds of laughter get louder behind us.

"I mean, it's not bad to think about the future," Meliodas says, a gentle breeze tugging at his hair.

"A future after we're all dead," I say before I can stop myself and from the corner of my eye, I can see Meliodas turn his head slightly to shoot me a concerned look. "It's alright. Ignore me."

"You've never really been one to think that far ahead, (Y/n/n)," he says with a sombre tone and turns his gaze back to the skies above. "So why are you thinking about stuff like that now?"

"Because I'm an idiot," I speak the truth. "Like I said, just ignore me. I'm having a weird day."

"I raised you like you were my own daughter," the eldest Demon Prince whispers after a while. "And I'm proud that you became an incredible person after I was no longer able to stay by your side. You continued to grow and let nothing stop you from becoming the Queen your people desperately needed after the Holy War. And when you were forced to come out of hiding, you were able to forgive and move on. Not many people can let go of the past like you did, (Y/n/n)."

"Dad," I say quietly and turn to him, my cheeks burning with both delight and embarrassment.

"You're my little girl," he breathes and finally turns to me, his emerald eyes quivering with love and adoration. "Ever since I first held you, you've changed me in so many ways and I truly am grateful for that. Whether you see it or not, it's clear to everyone else that you've changed them for the better, (Y/n/n). And I'm certain you're going to continue doing this in the coming future."

"Why do you have to be so damn cheesy, Dad?" I say, sighing as I rub the back of my head.

"And what might you two be talking about?" his lover asks as she appears from behind Meliodas and throws her arms around his neck. "Both of you have been out here for quite a while now."

"The future," Meliodas and I say at the same time and the Queen of Liones laughs at this.

"Of course," she murmurs and places her chin on the top part of Meliodas's head. "And may I ask whether this future supposedly has more children who are a mix of Elf and Fairy, dear (Y/n)?"

"Oh hush you," I say with a snort and the two lovers burst out in laughter at this.

"Hey, you guys!" we hear the Queen of the Giants call out to us. "We've got all of the food ready!"

A couple of weeks ago, I made a request to have a large picnic with the old gang.

The Fairy King and the Giant Queen made time to come over and the King and Queen of Liones have also made time for this picnic; the Fox Sin of Greed, Elaine, and the Goat Sin of Lust were nearby and were also able to come; the Queen of the Elves, her husband, and all her attendants immediately agreed to come; the King of Chaos and the Boar Sin of Gluttony also came over not only to spend time with everyone but to also check up on the seal that's on my magical powers.

"We're coming!" the Dragon Sin of Wrath yells in response as he holds onto Elizabeth's hand.

"Come along then, (Y/n)," the Goddess says as she and her lover start heading over to everyone.

Taking a deep breath in, I then exhale comfortably and relax my body when I see my husband excitedly waving me over and then aggressively pointing at all of the snacks Ban has made.

To be blessed with all of these amazing and extraordinary people in my life is truly my greatest treasure. Honestly, I would have never become the person I am today if it weren't for all of them.

Just as I take a step forward toward my family, something terrible erupts from within me and I let out a pained scream that echoes absolutely everywhere. Heat ignites on my skin and it's so hot that my head starts to spin like crazy and it's only now that I realise I'm still screaming.

"(Y/n)!" I hear someone cry out but my vision suddenly blurs when fire surrounds me.

Unable to breathe properly, I slowly fall to my knees and hug my sides tightly as the blazing fires grow stronger around me. Frost swiftly spreads over all my skin and I can feel the ground begin to shake beneath my legs, the trembles vibrating my entire body and wrecked mind.

"No, no, no, no, no," I whimper when I see the mountains around us start to shake and crack.

"Merlin, put a seal on her again!" I hear my younger brother cry out over the raging fires.

"I can't!" the Daughter of Belialuin responds. "Her magical powers have become too powerful!"

"Wait, what?" the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins questions. "A seal? What are you on about?"

"I put a seal on (Y/n)'s magical powers after our fight with Cath," Merlin explains to everyone. "It was too much for her to deal with but the seal was eventually going to fade away in the end."

"You little—Why the hell did you not tell us about this?" I hear my husband demand angrily.

"Captain, what the hell do we do?" the Fox Sin of Greed yells as my fingers dig into my scalp.

I hear Arthur say very weakly, "It's too late. We have no other choice now. We have to—"

Heart burning with agony I have never felt before in my long life, I toss my head back and scream as the cold ice on my skin becomes too painful and steaming flames take over my hair.

"I'm not killing my daughter!" I hear my father roar. "There has to be another way we can—"

"Captain, we have no other choice right now!" Merlin argues with him and I can hear the pain in her voice. "If we don't, the whole of Britannia will be wiped out with (Y/n)'s magical powers!"

"Somebody please!" I howl as a large mountain nearby explodes. "Somebody kill me!"

"Merlin, stop!" I hear Elizabeth cry hysterically while yells and shouts of protest fill the air.

Closing my eyes, I can't stop the loud wails that escape my lips as my insides start to freeze up and the flames from my hair quickly spread all over my skin and painfully dig into it.

"I'm right here, sweetheart," I hear a familiar voice whisper and my eyes instantly snap open to see the first Fairy King standing right in front of me. "It's alright. I'm right here, (Y/n)."

"St—Stop," I stutter through my pain as my husband gently wraps his arms around me and hugs me. "Nia, st—stop! You're go—going to get burned! Nia, pl—please. You'll g—get hurt!"

"I made you promise," he murmurs softly, pulling away only a little bit and my heart aches when I see that a part of his pale face has already been burned. "I'm not leaving you again, (Y/n)."

Hands shaking, body burning, I start crying as Gloxinia kisses me and when he moves back, I see the cold ice has ripped his lips and it's bleeding so much but he doesn't seem to notice this.

"I love you so much," he whispers to me, his voice cracking horribly. "I'll always love you, (Y/n)."

"I love you too," I respond quietly and then give him a trembling smile. "My fallen King."

My eyes widen when I feel something sharp suddenly stab through my abdomen and I splutter out blood as I slowly look down to see a knife driven into me. Trying my best to breathe, I feel Gloxinia quickly pull out the knife and lay me down on the ground, tears in his amber eyes.

"I'm so sorry," he chokes and his tears fall from his face onto my own. "I'm so sorry, baby."

Even after all these years, you still look so stunning.

No matter what I go through, nothing will change my feelings for her.

I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure she stays safe in this damn war.

If he lays a single finger on (Y/n), I'll kill him and any other Demon who stands in my way.

I never stopped loving you. And I never will.

I promise I will never you again, my wonderful (Y/n).

If I ever break this promise, then you can just let me burn in the raging fires of Purgatory.

I never want to see you cry again so I'm going to stay by your side and keep my promise.

We're both going to grow old together.

And through it all, I'll be holding your hand. I'll be right here, (Y/n).

As long as I have you, that's all that matters to me, (Y/n).

Stay with me in this journey, (Y/n).

I promise to give you everything you want from now on.

I would search Britannia a million times to find you, (Y/n).

Trust me, nothing in this world would stop me from finding you.

Smiling with all of the strength I have left, I quietly say to the love of my life, "I forgive you."

As everything around me blackens and I lose the feeling in my body, I feel a pair of rough lips kiss my forehead and hear the whispered words, "I promise, I'll find a way to bring you back."

Unknown time period

Author's POV

They say that the day the eldest child of Chaos, the Princess of Chaos, the former Queen of the Elves, was brought to her end by the first Fairy King, every being in Britannia stopped moving.

They say that on that day, every single being in Britannia heard the outraged screams of the first Fairy King and, even though the magical powers of the Princess of Chaos had disappeared, the grounds of Britannia continued to shake because of these screams filled with grief and sorrow.

They say that on that day, nature cried for the first Elf it had created over 3,000 years ago and that its tears fell from the heavens to all of the inhabitants of Britannia down below.

They say that you can actually still hear the echoing pained cries and screams of the first Fairy King during the freezing cold winters when the howling winds try to speak to you.

They say that the winters and summers are no longer the same since the winters have brutally become so much colder while the summers have fiercely become so much hotter.

They say that if you stand in the place where the eldest child of Chaos lost her life, both your body and mind will get confused about whether or not it feels heat or cold.

They say that if you stay in that place for a while, you will see the colour (y/e/c) take over your sight and hear the whispered words, Embla will be reborn again.
