Author's notes: Heyyy guys, so (Y/n) won't actually meet Gloxinia until a few chapters later because I want to focus on these next few chapters on (Y/n)'s relationship with Meliodas and his new friends who she has of course never met before.

Anyways, please enjoy this chapter! ❤

My hands shake terribly as I place them on the cold marble railing of the largest balcony there is in the palace.

"Do it," I whisper to myself. "Come on, (Y/n)."

After we had discovered that the Ten Commandments had returned to Britannia, my attendants and I agreed that I had to publicly address our people about the possibility of war, and the reaction was absolutely devasting. There were frightened screams and yells and panic and it took quite a while to calm down the whole crowd.

When we finally did this, I reminded them of our battles against the Demon race 3,000 years ago during the Holy War and how we had come out victorious when we were forced to face three of the Ten Commandments. We beat them once, we could do it again.

That seemed to lift their spirits a bit and then a second later, all of them were crying out their allegiance to me, their faith in me. But I am not the same Elf I was 3,000 years ago.

My attendants assured me they would deal with everything else while I conversed with nature. And nature only had one thing to tell me: Go to the one who was there when you took your first breath.

Meliodas.

I immediately refused. Though the eldest son of the Demon King sealed away his own race 3,000 years ago, he doomed himself and my best friend to a dreadful curse that would last for aeons.

But I now realise that I have no choice. If my people and I are to survive this, if Britannia is to survive this, I must push aside my pain and anger and face the one who both raised me and betrayed me.

"Queen (Y/n), what are you doing?"

I blink, looking down to see that I have stepped onto the marble railing. Silently, I turn around to see my youngest attendant staring at me with a fearful expression on her face.

"Why are you afraid?" I ask softly.

"My lady, please," she whimpers as she takes hesitant steps towards me. "Do not leave us now."

"I am not abandoning you, sweet Nova," I assure her as she reaches me. "Nature has told me what to do next and I'm afraid I am not entirely pleased with this idea."

"What is it, my lady?" Nova asks me, her hands clenching onto her dark dress.

"Don't. You will wrinkle the dress," I scold her as I bend down and cradle her face in my hands. "You must tell the others that I have gone to search for Meliodas."

"The Demon Prince?" Nova asks in shock as her hands release their strong hold on the dress. "Really, Queen (Y/n)?"

"I must," I tell her and then smile gently. "I must face my past now. I always had to in the end. It seems now is the time for that."

"Oh, my lady," Nova murmurs as her eyelashes flutter over eyes that are similar to mine, (dark/light) (y/e/c).

I remember very clearly that Nova's mother had the same eyes as I did and almost everyone had wondered whether she was my sister. But nature had told me she was not.

Though I never did care whether she was or not. I still treated her like she was my little sister but after Nova's parents were killed in the Holy War, I took the newly born Elf in and raised her as my own.

There are times where I cannot help but carry out little acts that make it clear to everyone that I see her as my daughter at times rather than one of my attendants. Acts such as tidying her hair, patting her head, pinching her cheek. But my sweet Nova means everything to me.

3,000 years ago, not only did I lose my best friend, Elizabeth, but I also lost Nova's mother, the one I saw like my sister, and my younger brother, my own flesh and blood. When I lost them, my world crumbled to bits and there were just enough pieces to hold me above the water.

But then they were cruelly snatched away from me when I found out that my other best friend, the first Fairy King, was the one who killed my little brother and had joined the Demon race.

If I ever face him again, I will make sure that he feels the disastrous pain I felt all those years ago. I will make sure that he wished he never came back to Britannia.

"Will you be back by tomorrow, Queen (Y/n)?" Nova's soothing voice brings me out of my thoughts.

"I do not know for certain, sweet Nova," I answer as I pull back her long hair across her tiny shoulders.

To my surprise, the young Elf flinches when I do this and pulls away. "Sorry, my lady," she quickly apologises as she bows her head.

"Is everything alright, Nova?" I ask quietly but don't make any advances on her.

"Please come back, Queen (Y/n)," she says instead as she looks up to me with pleading (y/e/c) eyes. "Please."

I can't help but smile when she says this. "I always come back. You of all people know that."

"Promise me," the younger Elf begs. "Promise me, my lady."

I straighten my back and shuffle on my feet, slowly creeping to the edge. "I promise I will return to you and our people, sweet Nova."

And then I jump off the ledge.

***

We are nearly there, the winds say gently when I am about to nod off.

"Hmm, right," I say sluggishly as I rub my sleepy eyes.

The winds have been carrying me on this long journey and have technically done all the work but I cannot help but feel mentally tired. We are about to reach the Kingdom of Camelot where nature has felt the magical power of Meliodas.

You are scared, the winds murmur. Why is that?

There's no point in denying it. I never have and never will be able to hide from nature.

"I am about to face the Demon who hurt my best friend and took her away from me," I answer flatly. "I suppose I am still angry with him, even after all this time."

But you were the one who ran.

I bite the insides of my cheeks. "That was different—"

How? You could have stayed behind and helped Meliodas to break the curse and free both him and Elizabeth.

"One cannot simply break the curse of a God," I say coldly. "And in this case, two Gods."

Hmmm, the winds hum. You are still running, but you cannot do that forever.

"I'm not planning to," I say and then squint my eyes when I spot large, grey walls in the distance. "Is that the Kingdom of Camelot up ahead?"

It is, the winds reply. Ready yourself, Queen (Y/n).

I frown. "For what?"

The moment I ask this, I feel a dreadful amount of ancient magic weigh down on my whole body and I instantly know whose power this is.

"Galand," I snarl as the winds toss me over the high walls of the Kingdom of Camelot.

Water from several houses nearby dash out through windows and doors, grab me, and then bring me down in the middle of the battlefield.

Letting out a slow breath, I get up and look up to see a group of various races. Which means that the Commandment of Truth is right behind me.

"Well, well, well," a familiar voice speaks up. "Look who's here."

"Hello, Meliodas," I greet rather bitterly and move my head slightly to the side.

"If it isn't Queen (Y/n) of the Elf race!" I hear Galand exclaim from behind me. "Now this will be more fun!"

Before he makes a move on me, I say quietly, "I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now."

Getting my hint, the earth under the soles of my feet erupts right behind me and I can tell from everyone's shocked faces that Galand has been taken high into the sky. Good, this gives me some time to speak with the eldest son of the Demon King.

"Looks like you still got it, (Y/n)," Meliodas comments cheerfully as he and his group stare up at the blue skies.

"These are not my powers, Meliodas," I say, annoyed. "I have already explained this to you so many times."

"Sir Meliodas, who is this?" I hear a faint voice ask.

Glancing over to it, my heart drops to my stomach when I see the one who always stood by my side before the Holy War, before everything fell.

"Didn't you hear Galand, Elizabeth?" Meliodas says casually. "This is Queen (Y/n) of the Elf race."

Something comes crashing down behind me but I still don't bother turning around. Instead, I cross my arms and simply blink.

I hear Galand coughing. "You little—"

"Like I said, I'm not here to deal with you," I cut in and then snap my fingers.

The water that brought me here zips past me to the Demon who is not that far away from me and makes a sickeningly sound when it crashes into the Commandment. I hear it lift Galand off the ground and then bring him back down painfully.

"Aww, then did you come to visit me, little (Y/n)?" Meliodas teases.

I snap my fingers one more time, and nature immediately follows my will. The earth, wind, and water all plunge into the Commandment of Truth and he skids across the rubble ground before stopping at my side.

"Like hell I would visit you," I growl at the Demon.

Meliodas gasps mockingly and places a hand over his chest. "Such language is not fit for a Queen."

I click my tongue in irritation. "I don't need to be polite to be Queen."

"You kinda do," Meliodas says and then sticks out his tongue at me.

I sigh. "What I came for was—"

Moving quite quickly, Galand swings out his weapon at me but my impatience has finally gotten the best of me. The water stops his strike and it brings his weapon closer to me so that he's forced to face me.

"Stop interrupting me," I say in a deathly voice before the water whacks the Commandment to the side.

"Yeesh," I hear someone say.

"All of you better let me finish what I have to say," I say in a quiet voice as the water hovers over my head. "I, Queen (Y/n) of the Elf race, came here to make an alliance with Meliodas."
