A lone empty plate was set on a table, the room dead quiet only shuffling of sounds we're heard and a certain male's soft breathing.

Xiao was on his bed with his face burrowed on his pillow. He had finished his Almond Tofu earlier while a lot of thoughts occupied his mind making his supposedly stress-eating time very unpleasant to bear. He decided to just let the plate be and not run into Scaramouche in the living room as he didn't want something similar to happen earlier, he also hoped that his roommate had atleast calmed down and not eager to fight him as much as Xiao wanted to as well.

It's not like they've actually gotten to a full on fist fight having both Zhongli and Ei involved just to stop them, ofcourse not haha...

He actually wanted to switch dorm mate's before as it seems that having two males with severe problems wasn't really a good idea, but ofcourse the school didn't allow him as he also requested if he can switch to be your dorm mate instead so now he's stuck with Scaramouche until the end of his school days.

Back to the present, Xiao was trying to think of ways to face you especially after what Scaramouche had said to you. He knew you'd bother him with it, he was actually debating whether he'll straight up say that he has feelings for you or avoid you until he's ready to face you. But the latter seemed rude and unreasonable even for him.

If it weren't for a certain annoying bowl-cut he wouldn't have to worry so much right now, just right on cue Xiao's phone lit up as a notification showed on his screen which was beside him.

He slowly lifted his head out of the pillow to look at his phone and groaned when he saw the contact, he nevertheless opened it and read the message.

Sighing and closing off his phone,

'Doesn't he also live here? Whatever'

Xiao switched his laying position so now he was facing the plain old ceiling of his room, with his roommate going out he can finally think in peace with no distractions whatsoever. Maybe come up with solutions to his problems right now, it was such a pain that he had to deal with the outcomes of his poorly made decisions but this is life afterall, you don't get what you want.

Now about you, would he take the risk again and confess this time without backing out? He honestly wants this all to end, he was done, he doesn't even care if you'll return his feelings or not at this point. He just wants to relieve himself of the heavy pull at his heart, surely getting rejected wouldn't be that bad right? Oh how wrong he was.

He would just confess and not expect positive results, you both could stay friends if you don't return his feelings. Sure it would hurt a lot for him but he's dealt with worse he'll just have to deal with it.

But what if you reciprocate his feelings?

He never really thought about it, you returning his feelings would make him feel very...happy, something like that very often feeling he gets when your just smiling, laughing, heck even just standing so close to him makes his stomach flutter. He absolutely dreads the feeling but also wants more of it.

Grumbling he put his arm over his eyes, he was so weird he thought. These feelings he never assumed he'll feel one day was now the sole problem he has, if only there was a way to numb away everything.

Wait, was he even deserving of you?

He opened his eyes lowering the arm that was on his eyes as he blankly stared at the ceiling.

Was he? He had never made you giddy like a child, make you smile so big, and even make you laugh until there we're tears in your eyes. But unbeknown to him that he actually made you do all that and even more than that but he'll never know, perhaps someday he will.

Doubt was slowly engulfing Xiao, he wasn't worth your feelings. He wasn't the most affectionate so how would he even treat you when the both of you are together? You we're better off with someone else who can treat you better than him, but a side of him also didn't want to see you with someone else thinking that he can treat you better.

Xiao sat up with his amber eyes narrowed,

'What the hell?'
He thought, what's wrong with him? Was this feeling making him think all of this? He knew for sure he wouldn't think this way.

Maybe he'll actually just confess right here and let fate do him. No, that's too sudden, is it?

This wouldn't of happened if he just didn't back out confessing to you that day, he shouldn't of thought it through again just because he saw you being so close to Ayato and Kazuha that day.

Xiao deeply sighed, deciding to sleep it off he layed back down on his side looking at the framed picture on his nightstand.

The picture contained both you and Xiao sleeping soundly on each other's shoulder. Venti took the picture when the whole class was having a vacation to Inazuma, once the both of you woke up and saw the picture you both got embarrassed. Still the two of you liked the picture in the end so Xiao decided he'll keep it as a memory, framing it and put it on his bedside table. You also have a similar one but the scenario was different, you we're holding the camera giggling and pointing it at a soaking wet Xiao who looked like he was done with his life. Even soaking wet he still looked pretty. He didn't want that kind of picture to be framed but didn't have a choice when you wouldn't give up wanting it to be framed just because he also had one that embarrassed you alot, it was only fair that you had one that was embarrassing to Xiao.

A subtle smile formed on his face as he recalled the memory, he closed his eyes ready to drift off to sleep but opened it once he heard the ring of his phone.

He can ignore it but... He chose not to and take his phone opening it up to see another message from his dorm mate,

He groaned at the thought, he has someone to rival now it seems. Xiao wouldn't call it a rival since Albedo is a whole level ahead him already and has nicer qualities than he did.

'The Mondstadt Festival huh?...'

He silently thought that maybe he'll go there just to see what both you and Albedo would be doing. Afterall it was just you and Albedo alone, something could happen between all those alone time together right? So it's better for Xiao to see than hope that he has a chance with you.

How would he go to the festival without seeming suspicious? He knows everyone would attend and when they see them without you they'll definitely question him why he's there when he's known to just stay indoors and never go out unless you personally asked him to.

Just as Xiao was thinking his phone dinged making him glare at it,

He sat up grabbing his phone and opening it ready to curse Scaramouche out for texting him again for the third time but stopped and raised his eyebrow when he saw it wasn't from his room mate.
