yeonjun's doorbell rang a few seconds after he put down his phone, and he rushed to open it, giggling happily as he crashes into beomgyu's arms as if his life depended on it.

beomgyu turns pink as usual and yeonjun doesn't notice, intertwining their fingers together just like they always do and yeonjun skipped down the street, dragging beomgyu behind him.

"why are you so jumpy today?" beomgyu asks, laughing as he runs behind yeonjun, and yeonjun just laughs, which makes beomgyu extremely happy.

"i have a feeling that today is a good day." yeonjun says, grinning widely at his best friend before taking off again.

"catch me if you can bitch!"

beomgyu laughs loudly and chases after yeonjun, and they take off down the street, to soobin's humble abode.

so the two of them reached soobin's house, and they were panting and sweating.

"did a bull chase you here or...?" kai asks, giving them a questionable side-eye and soobin let out a laugh that sounded oddly like a roar.

taehyun came through the door a few minutes later, and beomgyu screeches loudly and body slams himself on taehyun, which instantly cause protests from the other three.

"i want to be taehyun so badly." yeonjun complains

"why doesn't hyung hug me like this." kai whines

"I HATE THE TAEHYUN PRIVILEGE." soobin whines even louder, and it made everyone laugh.

"anyways, kai and i have an announcement." soobin clears his throat, slinging his long arm around kai's back.

the other three looked at them expectantly, not knowing what was going on.

"yes?" taehyun asks, big doe eyes swinging from kai to soobin repeatedly.

"we are...a couple now."

the room went quiet, and the newly announced couple stared at the other three, and the other three stared back.

"you're being for real?" yeonjun asks, his eyes widening in disbelief.

kai nods shyly, hands on soobin's thigh which looked oddly romantic than friendly.

"what the actual FUCK." yeonjun screams, laughing loudly and tackling kai on the floor, placing a platonic kiss on kai's cheek and soobin instantly complains.

"that's my boyfriend."

"and that's my best friend."

"screw you."

taehyun runs to soobin and pulls him into a hug, giggling into his ears and soobin's heart instantly flutters.

"i'm so happy for you!" taehyun exclaims, his doe eyes shining in excitement, and soobin smiles at the younger, letting out a giggle and ruffles taehyun's hair.

"kai and i were so scared if you all thought we were weird." soobin says, a pout visible on his face and yeonjun and taehyun instantly yells a variety of
"no"s, which makes the couple extremely happy.

but beomgyu didn't say anything yet.

kai looks at beomgyu, who was sitting on the couch with a blank look on his face, and a feeling on uneasiness starts eating his insides.

"beomgyu hyung? you ok?"

beomgyu snaps awake from his trance and he looks at the other four who were staring back at him.

"i..i'm fine."

"if it's too much for you to handle then of course we'll distance ourselves! we understand." soobin says in a hurry, afraid that beomgyu would just walk out of the friend group without a second thought.

beomgyu looks at taehyun and yeonjun, who were looking at him, waiting for him to say something.

beomgyu doesn't really know why he was so emotionless over this, and he wanted to be happy for the couple, but something inside of him was just thinking.

thinking about what if soobin and kai was him and yeonjun instead.

they were closer than over, and there was no fractures in their relationship at all.

and he tries his best to smile, and he says "congrats." to the couple before he was dragged into the gigantic group hug, but he felt empty, like a empty clam.
