Hayden

"It's time! It's time It's time!" Riley said running around the kitchen in excitement.

"It's not! It's not! It's not!" Dana said chasing after her.

"What?" She said stopping in her tracks and looking back at us "But Mom said that we were going after breakfast!" she said with an offended look in her face.

"You heard Mom say that." I said picking her up and setting her on the counter as I tried to wipe her breakfast off her face"That's not even close to what I said."

"You said that after breakfast we would go to the airport." she said crossing her arms and pouting her lips "To pick up grandma and grandpa."

"What I actually said was that after breakfast you needed to go take a nap." I said pulling her off the counter and setting her on the ground before I led her to her big bedroom "and that Mama and I will come get you when it's time to leave."

Riley had been awake since 4am this morning, I have never seen her so excited. But her excitement has led to our exhaustion. "I don tink you say dat Mommy."

"Nevermind." I said shutting her bedroom door with a laugh and walking to her nursery "I did say that baby." I said quickly helping her into a pullup and laying her down in her crib, quietly walking out of her room once she fell asleep.

"She finally sleeping?" Dana asked as I walked into the living room a few minutes later and sat on the couch next to her with a smile and a nod. "Get some sleep, I'll wake you up when it's time to leave for the airport." She said as I yawned and watched her grab the remote and turn on the TV.

It felt like a few seconds passed before I was woken up by a knock on the door and looked next to me and saw Dana sleeping on the couch. "Dana!" I said "You were supposed to wake me up." I said shaking her awake and running towards the door.

"We must have got our wires crossed at some point." Ron said with a smile as I opened the front door and watched a taxi drive away "we thought you guys were picking us up at the airport."

"We did say that!" I said with a sigh pulling them both into a hug "Riley was up at 4 this morning and once we finally got her to go down for a nap we accidently fell asleep."

"Technically I accidentally fell asleep." Dana said walking up behind us "I was supposed to wake Hayden up so we could leave on time, sorry guys."

"Oh it's fine." Penny said with a wave of her hand "We're just excited to finally be here, where is she?"

"She's napping." I said with a smile "I'll run upstairs and grab her." I said quickly running into her room to wake her up. "It's time to wake up baby." I said rubbing her back and waiting for her stir in her bed. I picked her up and handed her Leo as she rubbed her face into her ears.

"We go get granma and granpa now?" She said resting her head on my shoulder with a yawn.

"Well." I said patting her bottom as I walked out of her room and down the stairs "Mama and I accidently fell asleep, so Grandma and Grandpa are already here."

"Eally." She said wiggling down from my arms when we made it to the bottom of the steps. She ran around the corner and shrieked in excitement when she saw everyone sitting at the table.

"She's awake!" Ron said standing up as Riley ran into his arms with a laugh.

"Hi granpa, hi granma." she said looking at them with something akin to hero worship.

"I was going to make lunch." Dana said with a sigh "But you know, we fell asleep. So how about we go out and get some food."

"Come on Riley." I said taking her hand and starting to lead her upstairs "Lets gets ready to go."

"No!" She said with a smile "wan granma to do it." she said clapping in excitement.

"Okay." I said laughing and giving her hand to Penny "There are more pullups in the drawers of the changing table and clean clothes in the closet."

"There's a small pizza place downtown that Riley loves." I said sitting down at the kitchen table with Ron. "It's the first place she was little in public setting and the staff were perfectly accepting. They love her, and she loves seeing them."

"Of course the fact that she gets to eat pizza doesn't hurt either." Dana said with a laugh as Riley and penny walked into the kitchen ready to go.

"Let's go!" I said leading everyone out to the cars "Riley, I know you want to sit with Grandma and Grandpa but you have to sit in your seat." I said opening the door and watching her pout as she

"Okay." she said with a sigh as I helped her into her seat.

"We get izza." She said with a smile as we all climbed in.

"You bet sweetpea." Penny said sitting next to her

"I ike izza." she said with a grin.

"I know ya goofball." Dana said pulling out of the driveway. It took us about ten minutes to pull up to the small pizzeria and pull Riley out of the car.

"Izza, izza, izza!" She said before she started to run across the parking lot.

"Riley!" Dana yelled grabbing her hand and pulling her back to the car.

"Sorry Mama." She said putting her hand on the purple sticker "I jus escited for izza."

"I know baby." she said with a smile "But you know the rules."

"Lets go get some Pizza!" Ron said walking up from behind RIley and scooping her up causing her to squeal in surprise.

"Table for 5." Dana said walking in the front door.

"Am I grabbing a children's menu today?" She asked smiling at Riley with a wink.

"Es pease." Riley said with a smile.

"Awesome." She said with a smile grabbing the menus and leading us to a table. "Your waiter will be right with you."

We watched as Riley opened the crayons and started coloring her menu humming to herself with a smile.

"Hey guys, welcome back." our normal waitress said walking up to us "What can I get you today?"

"The normal for the three of us." I said with a smile and before turning to Riley and picking up a crayon.

"We were wondering if we could take Riley out for the day tomorrow." Ron said once our food had arrived and we began eating.

"That sounds perfect." Dana said with a smile "What did you have in mind?"

"We'll figure out tomorrow." Penny said with a shrug before biting into her pizza. "But we'll give you two a day off Mommy duty."
