The Fall of Magix

Back at Alfea the girls arrived early at the break of dawn, returning to their dorm Stella akd Bloom placed Blaire in her room and into the covers of her blankets.

Bloom felt her eyes burn as they brimmed with tears, she was heartbroken to see her sister like this.

"She'll be okay Bloom remember she's still alive." Stella comforts suddenly the light turns on blinding Bloom as the light flooded her senses.

"Bloom, Blaire you're back!" Flora greeted them as she embraced Bloom and when she turned to Blaire she gasped at her pale complextion.

"Blaire, oh my goodness what happened? Blaire?!" Flora called but Stella grasped her shoulder and shook her head.

"It's pointless Flora, she can't wake up. She won't open her eyes no matter how much you call her." Stella explained.

It didn't take long for Techna and Musa to arrived and presented the same kind of shock and sadness at Blaire's state.

"What happened to you two?" Musa asked.

"Indeed, that's exactly what Ms. Faragonda wants to know." Griselda said and the girls gasped as she stood by the open door and Bloom remained dejected.

Later on Bloom met with Faragonda in her office while Blaire was taken into the infirmary for proper treatment.

Griselda poured a cup of warm milk tea for Bloom. "Here, drink it while it's hot. It'll do you good." She said as she handed it to the redhead who took it gratefully.

"Alright then, would you like to tell me what happened Bloom?" Faragonda asked.

"Blaire and I went back to Gardenia ma'am, we...Blaire didn't feel like she was good enough for this school anymore after what happened at Red Fountain and I was just...so exhausted ma'am, I was tired of not knowing the truth and with everytime I think I found something it would only take me several steps back." Bloom replied.

"Oh, Bloom." Faragonda said as she looked saddened.

"It was a hard journey, but useful. Blaire and I found out about who we are and what our purpose is. Or what was...rather." Bloom said as he eyes soon brimmed with tears.

"What do you mean?" Faragonda asked.

"I found out the truth and it's horrible. I'm the last Princess of Domino and Blaire is the last Princess of Xerilia ma'am! The keepers of the Dragon Flame and Crystal Heart. That's why my sister, Daphne the nymph gave me that crown at Lake Roccaluce. That crown was the symbol for which she sacrificed her life." Bloom sobbed.

"Yes, but you and your sister Blaire, embody the symbol." Faragonda said.

"You mean you knew our history, why in the world didn't you tell me?!" Bloom gasped.

"Bloom, sometimes the search for the truth is more important than the truth itself. If I told you girls earlier you wouldn't have been able to understand." Faragonda said and Bloom went livid.

"So you're saying it was better for us to find out from the three witches?! We may not have believed you at first but with time we could've, we could've at least understood everything and Blaire wouldn't have been so heart broken and now she's forever asleep and terrified that she won't wake up again!" Bloom exclaimed.

"What three witches, what are you talking about?" Faragonda asked as her eyes went wide.

"Icy, Darcy and Stormy followed us to Gardenia and took away our powers we were meant to protect and now Blaire is...is..." Blood croaked as she couldn't bare to think of the worst.

"Our power is in their hands. Those three witches are no mere students a strange light shines in their eyes....they're crazy ma'am, crazy like the three old witches who destroyed our home planets way back when!" She sobbed and Faragonda gasped as she went pale from the news.

"And now what's going to happen?" She asked.

"I don't know, but this doesn't bode well for Magix." Faragonda said as she looked out the Windows of her face daunted and full of dread from what is to come.

After Faragonda allowed Bloom to be dismissed Bloom headed straight for the infirmary, she needed to be by her sister's side and she wasn't the only one.

Back at Red Fountain Stephan has been haunted by this overbearing sense of dread since last night like a nightmare, he felt excuriating pain coming from his ches which forced to wake him and only one name popped into his head.

"Blaire." He muttered as fear crept up his skin.

Ever since then all throughout this morning her couldn't stop fidgeting and pacing around while cluching his pendant.

"Dude, are you okay you've been acting weird all morning since you woke up from last night's terror." Brandon said as he followed Stephen's pacing figure. "Ow!" He yelped as his neck cracked from all the pacing.

"Sorry, but I just can't help but feel like something is wrong...terribly wrong." Stephan said as he sat down leaning his head against his hands as he propped his elbows on his knees for support.

Spike whined in sympathy as he too felt the overwhelming presence of discomfort but then his ears flicked and he turned to see a dim light shining from Stephans drawers and he quickly called his partner to attention.

"What is it?" Stephan asked as Spike lept of his bed after he got his attention and he trotted over to his drawer and he pulled it open and carried the chest towards Stephan.

"What is it?" He asked as he took the chest and placed it on his lap, opened it up and took out the freshly sent letter inside. In a rush he ripped it open and after a few minutes, he paled.

"What, what is it?" Brandon asked.

"I...need to go!" Stephan got up grabbing his jacket and ran out with Spike hot on his tail.

"Hey, Stephan! We still got training after this! Stephan?!" Brandon called but Stephan was already long gone.

Stephan face through the halls dodging other Red Fountain students wanting to get to his hover bike as soon as possible, he needed to get on it yesterday.

"Stephan, wait up!"

Stephan paused and gave a look behind him and found Sky catching up.

"Sky?" He questioned.

"Stephan, I need your help. I can't get through to Blaire I've been contacting her for ages and she's not answering." Sky explained as he looked panicked and slightly worried.

"Alright, Sky let me give it to you straight. You lied about a lot of things, that's not a good way to start a relationship of any kind, period and trust me when I say that if I didn't stop you from swapping names with Brandon it would be a lot worse for you. So do yourself a favor and come up with a very, very, very good apology or else she'll never speak to you again plus simultaneously hating your guts in a blazing fury." Stephan explained.

"But what do I say?" Sky asked.

"I honestly don't know what to tell you man, except...to speak from here, because if anything sincerity is what she cares about so don't be sloppy about it." Stephan gave Sky a pat on the shoulder before he took off once more.

He knew he shouldn't have stopped but he wanted to at least help his friend so once he got on his hover bike, he didn't waste a moment and raced of to Alfea College for Fairies.

Please, please be alright Blaire! Stephan thought.

Bloom, along with the other wind sat in the infirmary as the looked after Blaire.

"I'm a mess. I was unable to use my power when I needed it most and now the whole magic dimension is in serious jeopardy and Blaire won't move not even to open her eyes. I've got to do something. But what? I mean I lost my powers, I'm not a fairy and I'm not anything anymore." Bloom said dejected as she held Kiko who lept in her arms to comfort her.

Soon the phone rang and Stella went along to pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Hey Stella, it's me Stephan. Where's Blaire?"

"Oh Stephan, hey, uh I'm sorry but Blaire can't come to the phone right now."

"It's alright, I'm coming over there anyway."

"No,no,no,no you don't need to do th--"

Stella tried to steer Stephan but the call cut off before she could do that.

"Was that Stephan?" Flora asked.

"Yeah...he's on his way here and I don't know how he's going to react when he sees her like this." Stella sighed.

"This is just getting worse and worse." Bloom whined sadly as she didn't know how she was gonna explain this to Stephan.

Outside the sky began to be covered by dark, sweltering clouds that passed pver every inch with darkness and dread.

"Hey, look." Techna said as she noticed the coming darkness. "It's about to rain." She said as the sky began to be completely covered by the dark clouds and lightning started to gather all aroundΒ  the sky and it soon began the dark rain.

The fairies out in the courtyard ran for cover from the rain as dark deformed insect-like creatures began to appear everywhere as they screeched.

The mass of them started to creep up the walls of the School and startled by their appearance on the window, Stella launched a blast that shattered the window.

"Sorry, it was pure reflex." She said.

"Everybody let's get out of here, the school is under attack!" Palladium exclaimed as he picked up Blaire placing her on his back as they fled.

The creatures were everywhere crawling up the crevices of the School like a disease. They erupted from the fountain their horrid squelching as they slithered like cockroaches in bunches.

The girls gasped at the sight as they flooded the courtyard, students screaming and yelping and attacking in fear and disgust.

"This is a total invasion, we've gotta fight back!" Techna exclaimed.

"Let's send this critters back where they came from!" Musa glared as she stomped on one.

"But I--I can't help." Bloom sulked.

"Don't worry Bloom we'll take care of them for you too, in the meantime you should protect Blaire because right now she's completely vulnerable." Stella said.

"Alright, go on then." Bloom nodded as her friends began their transformation.

The fairy students who transformed valiantly fought against the invaders.

Meanwhile Bloom ran into the School looking for her sister and she found her safely tucked away in the dorm and she quickly got her sister on her back only for a massive warrior type creature slam through the window.

"Oh no..." Bloom's face contorted with fear as it stomped towards them and it raised its claws to attack.

"Kyu!"

A magic blast completely wiped out the creature out and Bloom looked relieved to see a familiar furry face.

"Lola, am I glad to see you. We need a place to hide or at least a place that can keep Blaire safe, got any ideas?" She asked the creature who beamed and raced forward to lead the way and Bloom gladly follwed the multicolored creature.

Lola was doing great leading them to safety but then another one crashed through the wall in front of them and this one was a lot tougher than the others.

Lola growled, her fur standing up as she made herself look all the more threatening.

Suddenly a hover bike crashed through the window and crushed the creature underneath, the assailant tool off his helmet and revealed a face that Bloom was more than happy to see.

"Stephan!"

****

Stephan arrived at the scene and was horrified to see the chaos, it this was happening here he could only imagine if this is what other schools are going through.

"Spike, it's all you bud." Stephan said and his partner lept head first into battle.

"Kyu!" Spike roared as ice and frost covered where ever he aimed as he joined in the fight.

Stephan crashed through the window, he jumped off the bike and saw that he crashed into one of those creatures. He took of his helmet so he could face the people he miraculously saved.

"Stephan!"

He looked to find that Bloom was standing in front of him while holding Blaire on her back.

"Bloom, what is going on?!" He asked as he rushed towards her.

"I don't know, these....thing just appeared as soon as the rain began to fall and now they're attacking the School. It'sΒ  those witches, I know they're behind this.Β  They--"

"Bloom, survive first then explain, okay?" He asked and she nodded and she nodded and he took out his twin blades and they continued to find a safe haven.

"They've swarmed the east wing, now they are headed for the laboratories!" Griswold announced as she rushed into Faragonda's office.

"Did you hear that Saladin, those creatures are taking over Alfea!" Faragonda said to the holographic projection of her fellow Headmaster.

"The situation here at Red Fountain, isn't kuch better. The entire magic dimension is in Great peril! Now if you'll excuse me I must go and help my boys." He said before he vanished.

The situation at Red Fountain was ghastly as those insect warriors marched both in an out of the castle walls.

The students were fighting bravely as they were slowly getting outnumbered and overpowered by the enemy. Sky slashed a creature down as his friends fought monsters one by one, eliminating the creatures with great strength and prowess that they have learned at the School.

During the fight a hovercraft descends above the School, the door opened and the forces inside blasted at the creatures. Diaspro leaned out and gasped throwing down a ladder.

"Prince Sky, we've come to get you!" She called.

"What?!" He yelled.

"We've come to get you out of here. You must save yourself my Prince!" She said.

"We're fighting to save the dimension, my place is here!"

"Don't be silly you're a Prince let these peasants fight for you!"

Sky glared towards her and the craft, having enough of the insistence that he must leave, he loathed the fact that they refused to understand the importance of this battle, what's the use of running away if it just leaves his friends and the magic dimension jeopardy.

"Well, what are you waiting for?! Your duty is to rule!" Diaspro exclaimed, but he cut down the ladder refusing to flee like a coward.

Diaspro gasped before her face contorted with rage as she growled.

"Mission failed, fall back."

The rescue team finally left seeing as Sky refused to be rescued and he went back to fighting, like the valiant warrior he trained to be.

At Cloud Tower. Icy snickered proudly as her and he sisters watched the destruction from the safety of their base.

"It's time to put a halt to the fighting sisters call back the creatures of the dark, the magic dimension is now ready to hear our demands!" She laughed.

"I wouldn't be so victorious yet sister, the heart is still out there. It is still their hope if they were to find it--"

"I'm aware of the situation regarding the heart Darcy, I don't need you of all people to remind me!" Icy exclaimed. Losing the Crystal Heat was going to be a big blow if she didn't find it first. "Where could that pink disease of a furball be!" She groaned but she had important things to deal with right now and that was to announce their dominance to all of Magix.

"Your pathetic little magic school will soon cease to exist. We have supreme power and we will stop at nothing to obtain full control of the magic dimension, you have 12 hours to surrender or face total annihilation resistance is futile." She called as her message resonated throughout all the schools.

****

"They're completely insane." Faragonda said.

"Yes, those three witches are exactly like their ancestors." Saladin said.

"Except that their ancestors could never have obtained the power of the Dragon Flame and Crystal Heart, they only have one of those two, we have to find the heart it could be our only hope." Faragonda said.

"We'll have to work together. I'll go back to Red Fountain and organize a defense strategy and you should start looking for the heart, we have to start quickly." Saladin said.

That evening Faragonda summoned the girls and Stephan to her office.

"The witches are planning an attack against us. They're doing what they're ancestors did back then they had seriously jeopardized the dimension' s balance of power and now another generation of witches has taken up the fight and this time they possess a weapon their ancestors did not. Your power and that males them utterly invincible, luckily they don't have the Crytstal Heart so there is still hope." Faragonda said.

"In that regard Headmistress, I have gotten into contact with my Benefactor and here is a letter they asked me to give you." Stephan said as he handed it over.

"Thank you." She said and began to read the letter and after a few moments a glimmer of hope pass over her eyes.

"Alright. Stephan, Bloom listen carefully at this point in time the only thing you can do is go back to Domino and Xerilia."

"But why?" Bloom asked.

"Because it was their three ancestors who destroyed your birthplace Bloom they eradicated your kingdom and now Icy, Darcy and Stormy are following in their evil footsteps and I'm thinking that perhaps somewhere in the remnants of the royal palaces you might be able to find a clue a shred of evidence, something anything that could help you with what you've lost. The Dragon Flame amd Crystal Heart." Faragonda said as she brought up a hologram of both planets and their palaces.

The palace of Domino was shrouded in ice and snow and the palace of Xerilia was just as Stephan remembered surrounded by a sandy desert no signs of life as the tall figure of a dilapidated home for royalty as the sand swept through it's hollow form.

It stung to see the place that was supposed to be his home be in such a state but if there was something in there that was gonna help his twin he needed to get in there and look for that clue.

Just hang on a little longer Blaire. Stephan thought.
