CHAPTER ELEVEN

I think that our date that evening was the first and the last one, heck! I even believe that it was the calm before the storm.

As promised, Sophia delivered the work, until now, I didn't get to unwrap it, and I couldn't get in contact with her, it has been two weeks since then.

Our society was doing a gala, to help the cancer's suffering people, it has a purpose to gather as much money as possible from the most popular business people.

I send Sophia a message to ask if she can make it, it would be in two days, and still, I didn't get an answer.

The gala is going to be held in the popular Hotel of the city, so they are still preparing.

Entering my house, I nearly got a heart attack!

-"Surprise! Surprise! The all mighty prince is here, get on your knees and greet your God"

-"Hardy Har-Har!" I replied with a smirk

-"At least act as if you missed me! You are such a di**"

-"But I did missed you, come here, IN MY ARMS BABY BROTHER"

-"GO AWAY FROM ME!" And he started running away from me

-"Come on Abel! Give big brother a hug"

-"Ew! Hell no!"

I took a seat on the couch in front of his standing form beside the huge TV

-"And to say you are the same kid that used to give me kisses lips to lips and said he loves me! Shame on y-"

-"SHUT UP! I was three years old!"

-"No honey! I remember when I used to take you to primary school, you were seven years old, all cute and tiny, you didn't stop until I travelled for three years, when I returned, you changed! But puberty did you a 180 degrees change, and here you are! All grown up, I'm proud of you!"

-"Shut up!" He whined

I went to him and gave him a manly hug

-"Welcome home Bro" I whispered

-"Thanks"

After dinner, Abel refused to go home, so I allowed him to stay and lent him the guest room.

The next day, I worked from home, and passed the day with Abel, we even went for shopping for tomorrow's event, and we took Thea with us too, it was a perfect day.

By the gala's evening, I went with Abel before the start of everything, I checked everything, even the rooms were booked, and after checking, I was assured that everything was going to be fine.

By the time of start, people started to flood over the doors, the most important people of town were here, Suzanna arrived with Alexander and Thea, after them, our parents arrived, half the time passed, I was talking with mom when we heard a clatter, and a "Are you okay dear?" I wasn't interested at first but then, Suzanna looked at me, I turned at the scene and saw dad with Sophia.

-"Sorry sir, it's my fault"

-"Sophia!" Her name left my lips like a breath.

She turned to me, with a tired smile, her face was paler if we compare it to a living human's, and suddenly I remarked her trembling legs.

-"Are you okay?" I rushed to her side

-"Actually, I was trying to help her when she slapped my hands away, that's why my cup shuttered in the floor" dad replied

-"Sorry dad, Sophia is actually bad with touching!"

-"So you do know the young lady?" Dad asked

-"Yeah, actually she is-"

-"Sophia!" Suzanna rushed to us and hugged Sophia

-"My my! Is she your friend Suzanna?"

-"Yes father, she helped me save the party!"

-"Ah! Well, it's nice to meet you Sophia!"

-"Nice to meet you too sir"

Father seemed pleased with her, heck, even mom joined us, and let me tell you, they both fell for Sophia's charm!

The gala was going fine, until suddenly, the lights went off.

People started to panic, the stuff was working on calming them.

Beside me, I heard shallow breathing, it was as if someone was struggling to breath, it was mixed with panting, indicating that the person was in pain, and suddenly, I remembered Sophia!

-"Sophia?"

-"Hmm"

Hell! It was her

-"Are you okay?"

-"Hmm!"

-"You can tell me anything, I hope you can trust me"

There was a pause for moments then

-"I'm...c-claustrophobic Theo" she struggled to say

Oh God! That's why our first meeting she fainted in the elevator!

-"They are working at it Sophia, don't worry, everything is gonna be okay" I tried to reassure her.

-"Th-eo...I...can't...breath"

And she started to pant and struggle to breath dangerously

Oh God No!

-"Sophia come near, here, take my hand, I'm just here, I'm not leaving, try to breath for me please"

I searched for her face and took her hand...she was like ice!

-"Abel!"

-"What is it Theo?" Came Abel with his phone's lights

-"Do you still have the key to our room here at the hotel?"

-"Yeah! Why?"

-"We need to take Sophia there, she is not feeling okay"

-"Okay, let's go then! Alexander will take care of the rest!"

Sophia was about to faint in my arms, and she was acting strange, by the time we arrived to our room, Abel helped me inside, we put Sophia in a bed, she was cold and breathing hard.

-"Theo! We need help! I'm gonna call a doctor"

-"No..no" she tried to oppose

-"Stay calm Sophia, I will just go grab my friend, he is at the gala too"

I was about to leave when she grabbed my vest.

-"Don't leave Theo"

I was surprised, so I looked at Abel, hoping he would understand the meaning and go grab Tyler, and that's what he did!

-"Sophia! Tell me what happened?"

She patted the space beside her on the bed and smiled faintly.

I layed beside her, and surprisingly she pushed her self by my side, her head on my chest, her hand on top of my heart.

-"Your heart is beating fast Theo" she whispered

-"Stop embarrassing me Sophia!" I whined and she giggled

-"I love that sound, it's beautiful"

-"You are beautiful Sophia" I breathed

We stayed silent for a few moments, the silence and darkness of the room consuming us both, it was so calm, then, her phone vibrated.

She shifted around, looked at her phone and frowned

-"Is everything okay Sophia?"

She looked at me surprised, as if I cut her long line of thinking.

-"Yeah! Actually...can you grab my purse? I forgot it at the gala"

-"Yeah! Of course"

I went to stand when she grabbed my elbow and pulled me back...feather like lips touched my cheek, I couldn't understand what happened

-"What was that?"

-"It's a thank you"

I looked at her after fully standing, she was like an angel, my pretty angel.

I returned her smile and went off the room.

Walking half the way, I remembered something...CRAP! Her purse was on the other bed where Abel put it, I ran back to the room, and barging inside...it was empty!

I tried to call her, but her phone was off.

-"Theo! Where is Sophia?" Abel asked standing by the room's door with Tyler beside him, they were both panting like they run a marathon.

-"She is gone" I whispered
