#20 Relief

Looking over the village Naruto smiled, his head still in Temari’s lap with the girl being sound asleep, her head rolled forward. It wasn’t the first time they had fallen asleep like that. Naruto knew that the blonde’s back was going to hurt like hell when she woke up, so he had already made a plan in his mind for the two of them.
That had to wait however, since the day had just begun and the sun was only beginning to creep over the tree lines. Knowing that they would need every bit of strength they could get, Naruto sighed, looking over the tent city. Closing his eyes, he concentrated for a bit before reopening them and making his way towards the wooden door in front of him.
“Hello Naruto.” Kurama greeted him, as he slowly made his way towards the beast.
“I want to ask you to give me a bit of your chakra again.” Naruto went straight to the point. The look on the big fox’s face grew slightly confused.
“There is no fight going on, what do you need my chakra for?” He questioned.
“I want to use it to make enough clones to help with the rebuilding.” The blonde explained, as Kurama laid down in front of him, his chin on the ground, but his eyes still towering over the teen.
“Alright. I guess I can agree with that.” The fox stated, holding out his hand. Naruto took it with a thankful smile, before he disappeared out of his mindscape again.
Quickly using the massive amount of chakra, a giant cloud of smoke erupted behind Naruto and Temari. When it had dissipated Naruto looked at two hundred copies of himself. Nodding to them, they jumped off, a mass of blonde heads rushing down the Hokage monument, towards the Hokage’s tent.

“No, not again.” Tsunade sobbed, as she looked around, seeing nothing but trees surrounding her while the rain started pouring.
In front of her kneeling body laid a man with pale skin and silver hair. Looking down at her hands, her eyes widened, seeing the mass of blood on them and on the ground below the dying man.
“You couldn't save us.” She heard the voice of her former lover. Turning around she saw Dan and Nawaki standing there like she had seen thousands of times. However this time it was different, she watched as slowly the face of her late husband changed into that of Jiraiya and the child faded away smiling.
“Why didn't you save me?” Jiraiya’s voice echoed through her ears, his eyes having lost all kindness they had held towards her.
“I tried, you know I tried!” The woman screamed, as the white haired man turned to leave.
“No, don't leave me too! Jiraiya!”

With that scream Tsunade jumped up, feeling her shoulder being shaken. Spinning around she was ready to attack, before she recognized the blonde hair of Naruto.
“Maybe you should talk to him.” Tsunade was slightly confused at that statement.
“Jiraiya, you screamed his name before you woke up.” The blonde in front of her clarified.
“Yeah, I will.” Tsunade replied a bit embarrassed to have had the boy listen to her sleep talking.
“So, what did you need?” She asked, seeing as there had to be a reason that Naruto came to her early in the morning.
“We wanted some orders.” The smirk on the special jonin’s lips was unnerving her a bit.
“We?” She asked, although the moment that word left her mouth she realized who she was talking to and thus was not hugely surprised when he gestured outside of the tent where they found another 199 Naruto’s waiting for her orders. She was still surprised, since she didn't think that the teen would have had enough chakra left after his fight with Pain for even half of the amount of clones. However she wasn’t going to complain.
“Alright, so half of you will go through the ruins clearing the streets. The rest of you will split in two, one group going out to collect wood and stone, while the other group will go through the already cleared streets and clean up the rubble to see what foundations we can salvage.” Tsunade ordered, receiving a collective salute before the clones ran off. Sighing, she turned around, walking back into her tent. She paused, when she saw her shadow projected against the fabric of her improvised home. She briefly hallucinated another one next to her, only for it to have disappeared the next instant. Turning around again, she hurriedly made her way towards Jiraiya’s tent, a small smile lingering on her lips.

The massive amount of chakra being used had woken Temari. Naruto felt it immediately, the way she moved her head, trying to block out the sounds of the waking world, the way her breathing became slightly slower, trying to return her body to the calmness of sleep. Smiling he caressed the cheeks of the girl with his hand, feeling her lean into his touch ever so slightly.
“Good morning.” He whispered, as he sat up, moving slightly to pull the smaller frame of the girl into his chest. Temari only mumbled something, putting her arms around her fiance’s torso.
“Come on, we can't stay here forever.” Naruto whispered, before pressing a kiss on her scalp.
“Yeah, yeah.” The girl replied, a smile on her lips as she opened her eyes.
“You wouldn't believe how happy I am to see that again.” Naruto mumbled, before pressing another kiss on her forehead.
“What?” Temari asked, as she didn't know what the boy was referring to.
“You opening your eyes.” He clarified, earning a smile from his girlfriend. Instead of a reply the blonde girl smiled, turning fully to press her lips on Naruto’s.

“What do you mean, he is dead.” The man’s voice was booming and angry.
“He died, sacrificing himself to revive the people killed in his attack on Konoha.” The two colored person stated, seemingly not threatened by the man’s outrage. The masked man in front of him sighed deeply, his sole eye glowing red as he stared at the wall, trying to figure out what his next move would be.
“Tell everyone to meet up. Abandon every mission, we will move our plans around a bit.” He ordered, his voice having changed into a calm calculating one. The white and black man nodded before he sunk into the ground without another word.

Waking up Sasuke felt the weight on his chest before anything else. Jumping up he was ready to fight, when he saw who it was that he had just thrown out of their bed.
“Oh my god, Haku I am sorry.” He quickly apologized as he rushed to help his wife up from the ground.
“Why would you do that?” She asked, half laughing as she dusted herself off, before climbing back into the bed.
“For a second I thought it was a dream and didn't know who was sleeping on top of me.” The Uchiha replied, a sheepish smile on his lips.
“It wasn’t a dream.” The ice user reaffirmed. Pulling her husband back into the bed, resting her head on his chest again.
“I wouldn't know what I would have done, if it was.” Sasuke admitted, stroking the black hair sprawled out across the bed.
“It wasn’t so stop thinking about it and go back to sleep.” The girl in his arms said laughing. He laughed in reply, tightening his grip on his wife.

“Do you know where Naruto is?” Kakashi asked as Tsunade had finally been able to receive him. Tsunade’s eyes narrowed at that.
“He is cleaning up the ruins with his clones.” She stated, her voice showing a bit of concern.
“No he isn’t. Those are all clones of his.” Kakashi clarified, already having looked over them with his sharingan.
“Then I have no idea.” The Hokage admitted, a small smile on her lips.
“I am sure he is alright, after all his clones would dispel if he was in trouble.”

“You do know that I could have easily called him here, right?” Tsunade turned after Kakashi had left the tent again.
“Yeah, but there is probably a good reason that he wanted to be alone with Temari. Although I would have preferred it if he had told me.” The blonde stated, smiling as the wall shimmered, revealing her white haired teammate.
“Already back from the perimeter?” She asked, as Jiraiya walked towards her.
“Couldn't stay away for too long.” A smile on his lips, the toad sage held out his hand, pulling the woman up into an embrace.

“Have I ever told you that I love you?” The voice of the girl rang in his ears.
“You might have mentioned it once or twice.” He whispered into her ear, as his hands continued massaging her shoulders. Both laughed at that.
“Whatever you gave me on these occasions must have been some strong stuff.” Temari continued the little teasing game.
“Oh you know, only the best for my political bride.” The blonde boy continued to work out the kinks in the girl’s muscles.
“Oh come on, we both know, I would never marry you if not for that contract.” She replied, a grin on her face.
“Tell that to the ring on your finger.” Naruto said leaning down to place a kiss on her neck.
“Well it is true, that ring is beautiful.” Temari stated, as she turned over to capture Naruto’s lips with her own.

“I think we need to have a summit with the other Kage.” Tsunade stated, looking around the table. The faces of the people around it were grim as they had looked at their own resources and the damage reports Naruto’s clones had brought.
“Don't you think that they would be happy to see us so weak? If we revealed the full extent of the damage done by the Akatsuki….” Danzo argued, his sole eye narrowing.
“I don't think that they would do anything like that. After all, the Akatsuki are after their Jinchuriki as well.” Kakashi replied, as Tsunade sighed. It had to be expected that the war mongers on her council would not be on board with the summit.
“Do you not remember the last time we were weakened? Iwagakure pounced immediately at the chance and invaded the hidden grass village to attack our border.” Homura Mitokado shot back, his voice rising.
“Calm down, we don't need to shout.” Tsunade tried to keep the situation calm.
“We can’t just ignore the Akatsuki because of the past! Look at what they did to us with just one attack, if it hadn’t been for Naruto we would have all died!” Kakashi shot back at the advisor.
The tension was rising, as Koharu opened her mouth to defend her fellow council member.
“Okay stop!” Tsunade shouted, releasing a bit of Killing Intent as she stood.
“My decision is final, I had already discussed this matter with Jiraiya and my Anbu captain. I only called this meeting to inform you about this development, the messages have already been sent to the other hidden villages.” She continued, as she looked around to see surprised eyes.
“Then why did you even bother? Why not tell us directly?” Koharu asked, her eyes glaring at the blonde on the other side of the table.
“I wanted to see your reaction. I wanted to hear what your reasoning would be.” Tsunade exclaimed.
“You are dismissed.” She waved her hand, turning her back to the people, as she made her way towards the entrance of the tent.
