Rock or Bust

Dean and I parked right in front of the person's house. She bought a tea kettle from Scott recently. First cursed shoes, now a tea kettle.

What's next? A wooden spoon.

You could say that again.

A wooden spoon.

I was being sarcastic.

So was I.

Sam opened the door before letting us in. I could hear Venom sniffing the air and had a smile on his face.

My mouth is watering. What is that delicious smell?

"We're about to find out," I whispered as I noticed the tea kettle on the ground. I tapped Dean's arm before heading towards the kitchen. I almost gagged when I found the woman near her counter. Her mouth was all blistering and burnt.

She looks tasty. And she's already boiled to perfection.

You're not eating her!

Why not?! Just a bite. She's already dead!

I tilted my head before I got a closer look at the kettle. It really is beautiful. That would look great in Dad's kitchen. It could be a birthday gift to Mom...after I use it the first 3 times. I want the kettle. I reached over and was about to grab it but felt myself being yanked away.

"Lexa, no!" Dean yelled. I snapped out of it before looking at him. "Really? Out of everything."

I shook my head in embarrassment. "Sorry. I remember having tea parties with my dad," And me, "when I was little."

Dean gave me a look. "You're dad had tea parties?"

I slapped his shoulder. "Excuse me if he didn't hunt for a living."

"What did he do?"

He was me!

"He was a reporter in New York. So I usually get all my cases from him or Bobby."

"Right," Dean said. He grabbed a pair of rubber gloves from the counter before he carefully picked up the kettle and looked at Sam. "We should call this in before Lexa decides to burn us."

Sam nodded while I gave Dean a really look. "Hello, yeah," Sam started once he got his phone out. "I'd like to report an accident at 23 Gorham road." I grabbed one of the bags and held it open for Dean to put the kettle in. "My name? Uh...Bruce Hornsby."

I closed the bag while Sam got off the phone. Dean grabbed the bag. "Not risking it," he said. I gave him another look while we went outside. "All right. Who's next on the list?"

Can I trip him?

Not yet.

Can we at least eat the lady?

I'll get us burgers later.

Venom stopped me from moving. Hungry, now!

"We got a, uh, gramophone sold to Brenda Gluck, 413 River Street, and a vintage Gentlemen's sold to Peter Yankit, 27 Johnson Lane," Sam said as I tried to walk with them. The guys noticed I wasn't with them and turned. I stopped my struggle immediately and had my hands behind my back. "You coming, Lexa?"

I gave a convincing smile. "I would, but I just remember that I have to call someone. Then I might go for a bite to eat, you know?"

The guys gave me a confused look. "And this call is so important that you have to skip a case?" Dean asked.

I shook my head. "I'm not skipping a case. There's two more items on the list and there's two of you. You guys could split up and I'll meet up with you."

Sam was about to protest but Dean nodded. "Ok, one of us will call once things get settled."

I smiled at them again. Dean turned around and walked towards the Impala. They got in and drove off. Once they were out of sight, I sighed. Thank god.

Great, they're gone. Venom spun me around. Food, now!

Venom pushed my body inside. I went towards the kitchen and knelt next to the lady's body. I closed my eyes as I gave my silent apologies. Ok, Venom, go ahead.

With pleasure.

My mouth opened. Venom's razor sharp teeth came out and extended before we gobbled up the lady whole.

And true to my word, I stopped at a burger joint. Sam and Dean got the magazines and the gramophone. Scott finally know not to let the boxes out of his sight and let anyone near them. I had six burgers in front of me 'cause the lady wasn't enough for Venom. We heard the door open to the diner.

Dean's coming.

Dean sat down in front of me and noticed the pile of burgers. "You planning on finishing all of those?"

No, he can't have our food!

I shook my head. "No, go ahead."

Dean grabbed a burger and started to eat. "So..." he started. "How was your call?"

"Great," I said. "I had to call Bobby 'cause he was helping me with something."

Dean nodded. "Really? You called Bobby?" I nodded. "Funny, cause Bobby's dead."

What?

I nearly choked on my burger on the news. "What? What do you mean he's dead? He's the one who told me where to find you."

"That's what I thought at first. Except he told you exactly where to find us. Bobby Singer died weeks ago." My mouth flew open. Bobby's dead?

"Bobby's dead?" I breathed. "I - I didn't know."

Dean gave me a look. "Sure you didn't. You know what else is funny? Sam had this crazy idea that you were a demon."

"I know. He threw holy water at me," I said.

"Yeah, and I thought he was crazy. Then we drew an angel banishment sigil. That didn't work. We sliced your palm with silver and you didn't burn. That's when I thought you were ok. You weren't a demon. You weren't a shapeshifter."

Lexa, we need to leave.

"I can promise you, Dean, I'm human," I said. "I've passed all the usual test. I'm not a demon or a Leviathan."

"I know you're not, so I did some digging on your past. Not that much going on. No jail records. No speeding ticket. There was nothing about you. Until I searched up your old man."

I froze. "Did you find anything?"

"Oh, you bet your ass I did. Murder, pushing people out windows, fighting with this one guy. The file never said who, but they did say he had an alias. Thought it was you, but I didn't think you could rip a guy's arm off when you were 7."

Lexa, get up now.

Dean continued. "I started to think that you were always disappearing. The day you left, the crimes in New York went down. So, what is it, Lexa? Are you continuing Daddy's line of work?"

My eyes widen. "What? No. All that could be easily explain."

Dean leaned closer. "What is it?"

Sam's outside and he has his gun out. We need to leave, now!

I looked at the plate in front of me. I grabbed the plate before tossing the burgers aside and slapped Dean across the face with it. He groaned as I dropped the plate and got out of my seat. I started running toward the back.

"Sammy!" Dean called out.

Sam ran inside and started running after me. I ran towards the back of the house. Sam was about to shoot but I grabbed the pan and smacked him. Sam was about to punch me but I wrapped my arm around his and used my free hand to punch him in the face before I spun him around and pushed him towards Dean.

I turned around and started running towards the employee exit. I heard gunshots. One hit my shoulder. I groaned while Venom was already healing me. I kept pushing myself and turned the corner.

They're splitting up! I ran. Dean's coming from around the corner...now!

I felt one of Venom's tendrils come out and whacked Dean away from me. Venom's eight legs came out as Dean got up, Sam finally catching up. He held up his gun as he started firing some more. Venom moved one tendril to block me before the other tendrils grabbed the dumpster and threw it at the brothers. They ducked as I felt the tendrils come back in. I grabbed my guns and pointed it at them. Both of them looking at me wide-eyed.

"What the hell are you?" Dean breathed.

"We..." I started as I felt the symbiote finally showed himself and covered my body.

"Are Venom," Venom finished as he smiled at the boys.
