Vivian Pov

I heard shoutings when I woke up from sleep.

I checked the time and it read 8:30am. Who could be shouting this early in the morning? Out of curiosity I got down from my bed and went downstairs.

As I got closer, I heard Mia voice and.... Wait, is that Adrian voice I hear?

I opened the curtain and I peep through the window. I saw Mia and Adrian arguing. With Jacob holding Mia waist protectively.

What the heck is Adrian doing here?

He looks miserable.

His hair is dishevelled and there are dark circles under his eyes. I kinda feel bad for him.

"Vivian is not here" Mia stated. "Vivian and I are not on speaking terms. And even if we were isn't this going to be the most obvious place to look for her? I mean if Vivian doesn't want you to find her why will she come here to the first place you will look at? She's smarter than that."

I cringe at my stupidity. I could hear the double meaning behind that statement. She just stated that I'm not smart. It's not my fault, I didn't have anywhere else to go.

"Look man, your wife isn't here. It's been months since I last saw Vivian after you banned me from coming to your house. I haven't seen her since then. We are just hearing from you now that she's missing." Jacob stated innocently.

Adrian ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

"Look here, I don't have the time for this silly prank. Call Vivian outside now!!" He roared in anger.

I flinched.

"Why are you screaming? And who are you screaming at?" Mia asked with her arms crossed in front of her.

"Look here Adrian... Or whatever they call you. I'm not the one who asked you not to take care of your wife and show her love. Now she has left you, which I'm proud of by the way. To go and look for greener pastures... Maybe a fine man." She mocked.

"Jacob!! You better put a leash on your woman or else..." Adrian threatened in anger.

"Or else what? How dare you come to my house and threaten me?" Mia asked getting into his face.

"Babe let it go." Jacob said lifting Mia up.

"Adrian, you need to leave. That's enough disrespect for one day." Jacob said camly.

I think I'm scared of a calm Jacob than an angry Mia.

"Alright. I'll leave but I'll be back. And next time I'm taking Vivian with me." He stated confidently, turning to leave.

"There's no next time and for the hundredth time Vivian is not here, get it into your thick delusional head!!" Mia screamed after him.

I couldn't help it, I laughed.

"Can you imagine the nerve of that guy?" Mia asked immediately she entered inside the house.

"Viv!!" She yelled excitedly when she saw me, and came to hug me

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"I should be asking you that. I'm sorry for all the inconveniences I've put you and Jacob through." I apologized squeezing her tightly.

"Inconvenience?? I'm more than happy to put Adrian in his place. No offense but I hate your husband." She sassed.

"None taken." I said releasing her from the hug.

"Adrian is really delusional. I can't believe I'm realizing it now." She said in deep thought.

I laughed, walking over to Jacob and giving him hug.

"I deeply apologize on Adrian's behalf. I'm sorry for the way he spoke to you."

"Don't apologise for anything Viv. I'm the one who is sorry for not punching him in the face after all that he has put you through."

I smiled hugging him tightly.

"You don't have to apologise. You guys gave me a place to stay and protected me from Adrian. That I'm grateful for."

"You're family Viv. Our home is yours." Mia called from the kitchen. "And stop hugging my husband." She yelled.

I laughed and then proceeded to hop on his back just to piss her off.

"You can't blame me girl. Your husband is really comfy and cuddly." I teased.

She glared at me.

"Jacob you're sleeping on the couch tonight." She threatened.

Jacob threw me on the floor immediately he heard that.

"She called me Jacob. I'm sorry Viv." He apologized running to go and make peace with his wife.

"You sly!!!" I yelled after him.

These two love birds will be the death of me.

"Make sure that whatever you guys are doing. It should be done in your bedroom not the kitchen." I yelled, climbing up the stairs to my bedroom.

"Get lost Viv!" Mia yelled.

How mean.

The next day

"What do you mean you're in the hospital?"

"After Mr Carmichael found out that I helped you to leave the house, he gave me a good beating, till I was unconscious and then sent me to the hospital to recover." Ben the hulk said.

"How could Adrian do such a thing? How can he be so heartless?" I asked in disdain.

I called Ben the hulk to ask about the well-being of the twins only for me to find out that Adrian is a demonic piece of gravel. (Don't reason it😭)

"Send me the address of the hospital you're in. I'm coming to see you."

"No Viv, it's not safe. You will put yourself in more trouble if you come. Adrian has guards patrolling this hospital and don't forget the threat that is on your life."

"To heck with Adrian and that stupid threat. I can't sit still and do nothing knowing you are sick and injured in the hospital."

"Hearing your voice and knowing you're safe it's more than enough for me. I won't be able to forgive myself if something were to happen to you, please." He pleaded.

"Alright. Since you asked nicely I won't come... For now."

He laughed. "I've really missed you and your silly jokes."

"I've missed you too Ben." I muttered sadly.

"Don't worry Viv, everything is going to be fine."

"I really hope so."

"What about the twins? What are you going to do about them?" He asked.

I sighed. "I don't know Ben. I missed them so much. I don't know how to get them without running into Adrian. And he's never going to let me take them. I don't know what to do. I'm just tired. When is all this going to end?" I cried.

"Viv, don't stress yourself about any of this stuff anymore. Everything is going to be fine, we will figure it out together." He encouraged.

"Thank you so much Ben. I don't know what I would do without you."

"I guess we are never going to find out."

I smiled.

"Have Adrian come looking for you?" He asked.

"Yes. He came yesterday but Mia and her husband took care of him."

"Alright Viv. I have to go now. Adrian guards are patrolling at the front of my door. They can't find out I'm talking to you."

"Okay. Stay safe."

"You too. Don't do anything stupid." He warned.

"I can't promise that but I'll try." I replied ending the call.

"Viv?" Mia called.

"In here." I yelled.

"There you are." She smiled coming to sit at my side.

"So Jacob and I are going out. Will you be fine by yourself?"

"Of course. I'm a big girl, I can stay at home alone."

"Viv...." She called giving me a pointed look.

"What?"

"I want to make sure you will be fine. I don't want you mopping around or depressed." She said concern.

"Do I look depressed to you?"

"Well....."

I glared at her. "I'll be fine, don't worry. I'll probably watch movies and drown myself in a bowl of ice cream." I muttered.

"Please watch a comedy movie. Don't watch Titanic, please."

I laughed.

"I'll probably watch a romance movie and cry about my sad non existent love life." I muttered.

"Don't watch anything that will remind you of that douchebag." She warned.

"You can watch a gruesome horror movie where they are stabbing people and imagine it to be Adrian that is getting stabbed." She grinned evily.

"No, I'm not doing that. I'll get nightmares about it for days." I shuddered thinking about it.

"Alright. Whatever helps you sleep at night."

"Be good, okay?" She said patting my head like a child.

I glared at her, swatting her hand away.

"Don't do anything stupid Viv." She warned.

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" I asked in amusement.

"Well, because we know you and what you're capable of."

I rolled my eyes. "Please go already."

"Alright. See you later."

"Buy me chicken nuggets on your way back." I called after her.

"Yes ma'am. Your wish is my command." She responded.

I smiled.

After making sure that Mia and Jacob were gone, I got dressed.

I wore a black cargo pants with a black hoodie and I paired it off with my black boots and black shades.

So maybe I'm about to do something stupid.....

I'm going to pay my parents house a visit.
