The Sanctuary

"ugh," Veronica grunted as she landed on the grass. When she has transported away, she didn't know where she wanted to go. She just wanted to be away from there. Veronica was sprawled on some grass in a very familiar place. Her place, well her's and Bucky's founded home. She was gazing at the sky, which was very cloudy and dark, but it wasn't nighttime. Trees were standing tall above her, its beautiful hair waving in its full intensity.

Veronica would usually go driving when she felt angry or needed a minute to herself, but right now she needed nature. See nature was another thing that calmed Veronica, it showed true emotions. When she was younger, flowers would grow whenever she got excited. One time she grew twelve bouquets full of flowers. She learned to control it as she got older, only a couple of flowers sprouted when she was happy now.

The grass felt gentle on her skin, the exposed parts, feeling like small kisses from nature trying to make her feel better. She didn't know what would make her feel better. She had never been this hurt before, never showed this much anger and hatred before. Of course, she felt it before, but it was another thing for her to show it, and to that extent.

Veronica hadn't stopped crying and shaking since the whole situation started, and she was afraid she wouldn't be able to stop. Her body felt enervated, and overused from all the crying and the power she exported. She felt her heart skip a few beats, her lungs struggling to provide her oxygen. She tried to use her powers to help calm her down, but during a panic attack, her powers were no use.

Her stomach caved in deeply and pushed out just as strongly, heavily breathing. Her body began going through some kind of signalized pain. It wanted her to release something but the more she held it in, the more pain she felt. So she did. She let out a horrible scream that held so much pain mentally and physically. So much exhaustion, so must terror, so much guilt, so much more.

The leaves of the trees around her disintegrated, the nearest trees were knocked over. This wasn't a normal scream, well Veronica normal, this scream included every inch of magic she had, ancestral and chaos. Showing its form through destruction. This scream was heard states away, startling every person who heard, shaking everything in its course.

The scream only lasted 45 seconds, taking more out of her. Chest caving in and out as she tried to regain as much breath as she could. She felt like she was dying, but she knew she wasn't. She couldn't. She tried many times before. It took Veronica ten minutes to calm down, well as much as she could. Though she didn't move, she laid there in the now dark grass, staring at the sky. She was no longer crying, having no tears left to cry. So, she just laid there with a destroyed mind.

Ronnie was so drained, tired of the constant battle she has with herself, tired of the drama, tired of this feeling she'd get every time she would look in the mirror. The feeling she'd get every time she was left alone with her thoughts. So, as she lied there, she thought about turning it off. She wasn't a vampire but she still could turn it off. It was a thought that was on her mind whenever she would feel this way. If I turn it off, I wouldn't have to feel this way anymore, she thought to herself.

Out of the Avengers Thor, Bruce, and Wanda would be the ones to be more upset if she turned them off, but they'd understand. She needed to turn it off, needed to feel some kind of release. She closed her eyes, focusing on every emotion she felt at the moment, memorizing it before thinking about all of them being released.

"Doll," A voice interrupted her, her favorite voice. Veronica sat up very quickly backing away from Bucky, who just raised his hands, showing her she was safe. By the look on his face, you can tell he'd been crying. His hair was all over the place like he ran his hands through it and then pulled the ends. His face held compassion, a dour but compassionate look.

Bucky looked around, seeing trees were knocked over, the grass, which usually contains flowers, now was stained white, the color of emptiness, blue the color of dangerous depression. The damage she did told only half her story. The look on her face just made Bucky want to take her far away from here, her face was weak, tear-stained, filled with disappointment and despair.

He got down, sitting on the stained grass, a few feet away from her shaken body. She didn't say anything, she just stared at him with low eyes. She scooted back a little, not wanting to hurt him.

"Why are you here," Veronica finally asked. She didn't sound like herself, the effect of ululating so much. Every word showcased her pain, not letting hiding her emotions anymore. She let all her hurt out, her insecurity, her tiredness.

"We heard your scream," He replied making Veronica mentally flinch. The Avengers and her New Orleans family were in a frantic state, and when they heard her scream, they all felt so helpless and scared. They heard words within her scream, pleading for help, crying for stability and happiness. The shake of the building was so familiar, the fall of nature around and below them felt so familiar.

"I knew where you would be, your sanctuary," Bucky continued. Veronica loved everything nice, but nature was something that she connected with. Nature showed her emotions, she was bound to nature. Bucky knew this so it was a simple guess as to where she might've ended up. There was a loud silence around them. Neither knowing what to say or do, so they just sat there. Bucky just stared at her, seemingly reading her, she just avoided eye contact with him, not even looking his way.

"Are you-" Veronica started but paused, feeling the pain in her throat, "Are you scared of me," she asked finally looking at him. His face shifted into something that resembled a shocked face, the one you make when you hear something outrageous. Veronica quickly looked away, thinking he was mad at her.

His face softened up seeing the panic look on her face. Sighing he said, "Never. Nothing you could do would ever make me scared of you," Veronica looked back at him, seeing sincerity on his face, hearing trueness come from his voice.

"But I killed- She started but Bucky cut her off, "So have I, In some of the most brutalist ways," he told her. "You feel like a monster, I've felt that way too. The things I've done, the pain I've caused. I felt like someone unworthy of good things, even if I wasn't in control. But you, you were there for me. Becoming the good thing, not the amazing thing I didn't deserve. You helped me become someone who I can be proud of, someone worth forgiveness," He told her. Veronica listened to every word, knowing talking about his past wasn't easy for him. Though, the last part stuck with her, "someone worth forgiveness."

She remembered finding out about the death of her father's parents. She remembered how scared Bucky was of telling Tony, but when he told him, Tony was of course angry at the news, but after a while, he knew it wasn't Bucky's fault. Tony had seen the person Bucky had become, someone who was the complete opposite of the person Hydra created, and he forgave him. Tony saw how happy Bucky made Veronica, he knew that Bucky was not the man that killed his parents.

"You are an amazing person, who was given a hard situation today. A situation that made you act off of emotions, doing something that you are not proud of. I could never be scared of you Ronnie, neither is the family. We are just worried about you and want you to come back," Bucky tells her. He continues to tell her about the things he loves about her, her compassion, her love.

He told her about the other and how they were reacting right now, clarifying that they weren't scared of her, they just loved her. They talked for an hour, Bucky was now directly in front of Veronica, holding her hand which took some time. When he asked for permission to touch her, she hesitated, scared she would injure him due to her not having control. But when she did, he kissed her hand, massaging her knuckles. Around them, the grass had turned colors slightly, leaves forming again on the trees that were still up, even trees began to shape.

Veronica expressed how she didn't want to go back to the tower yet, not wanting to face any of them. Which Bucky understood, telling her to take her time. Veronica felt like she needed to discuss something with him. Knowing he would eventually ask her, so she decided to ask now.

"Are you mad at me?" Veronica lowly asked, to which Bucky grew confused, "Why on earth would I be mad at you?" He questioned.

Veronicas face sadden, she looked down at her hands before saying, "The baby."

(I'm sorry for not uploading, it's been a crazy few days! My birthday was on Thursday, September 30th, and I had my birthday party last night so I've been getting ready for that not having time to write, so I hope this is enough for now, until tomorrow)

Before you go, I want to pitch a book I've been working on. It's gonna be called, "Their favorite crime," which will be an avengers poly book. The main character's name is Natalia, and she would be the Avenger's "assistant" as well as a shield agent. Take a look at this preview.

"Tony!" I yell as Tony set yet again flew into the wall. I was coming down with coffee for me and Bruce every morning me and Bruce have coffee 'dates' where we discuss many things. Whether it's him rambling about science discoveries, or me talking about calming methods for him in the hulk, there was never a dull or awkward moment during these talks.

Tony was working on his backup suits when I walked in and he miscalculated how powerful the thrusters were, thus flying back into the wall. I didn't bother helping him just rolling my eyes and walking over to Bruce's section.

"God I swear, between him and Thor, I don't know who's the most destructive," I tell him. Tony had dismantled the suit and was stretching, clearly in pain and a little embarrassed.

"I heard that," Tony said which he simply got a middle finger in return. Bruce lowly laughed while drinking the coffee I made for him. We began discussing Tony's destructive nature making sure we were loud enough for him to hear. Tony threw a couple of screws at us from his now-destroyed suit.

For the next hour, I and Bruce discussed many things, Tony jumping into things that were interesting to him. Right now, we were talking about television and its accuracy.

"Grey's anatomy is not an accurate portrayal of actual surgery, Talia," Bruce argued.

"Says who," I sassed, I know it's not but that's how I'm gonna continue to imagine.

"You know you are infuriating sometimes," Bruce whined. I simply winked before checking the time. It was about time for me to go so I got up and gave Bruce a gentle hug. I also gave him a kiss on the cheek making him blush.

I then went to Tony and hugged him as well. When I went to leave Tony grabbed my wrist turning me back to face him.

"What he gets a hug and a kiss on the cheek and I get a little hug. Playing favorites I see," Tony teasingly pouts. I roll my eyes but smirks. I went down to kiss him on the cheek, making Tony's face light up. At the last second instead of kissing him, I licked his cheek.

I ran right after leaving the room not giving him any time to rebuttal.

"Your breath smells heavenly," Tony yelled after me, I simply laughed making my way up to the kitchen. I took it upon myself to get the Avengers lunch since they would sometimes skip meals. Which was hypocritical on my part since I do the same but, do you ever care about others more than yourself?

Steve and Bucky kept it simple, drinking disgusting-looking smoothies and fruits. Plums in particular for Bucky. Thor only wanted Poptarts and would throw a fit if there wasn't any in the stalk. Bruce and Tony would eat after they finished their perspective projects so I didn't have to worry about getting them anything.

Natasha usually went with a nice salad, with a sandwich on the side. Wanda and I would usually go out and try different spots in New York for lunch. Clint was out at a mission today so I didn't have to worry about getting him something to eat.

"The fossils got you making them their nasty concoctions huh," Natasha said, scaring me. I turned around seeing she was leaning against the island that was in the middle of the kitchen, seemingly standing there for a while.

Natasha was no doubt one of the most gorgeous females I had the pleasure of knowing. I was bi, but for her, I'd give up on men, but this whole team was filled with very attractive people. How can they be so talented and beautiful at the same time, I thought.

"Talia?" Natasha asked waving her hands in my face. I didn't realize that I was daydreaming, but I also didn't realize Natasha moved, now standing in front of me. Not too close to make me uncomfortable, but close enough to make me blush.

"Sorry Tasha, just had a lot on my mind," I say looking down at my hands, growing interested in the outline of my hands. Natasha placed her hand on my chin, making me look back at her. I wouldn't say look up since we were close in height. Me being 5'4 and her being 5'5/5'6.

"Wanna talk about it?" She asked, eyes roaming my face, searching and scanning for something. I went to reply no, but another voice cut in before I could.

"Aren't you too cozy," The teasing voice Tony filled our ears. Natasha still had her hand on my chin, which she took off a little after Tony showed up but he still saw it.

"Haha," Natasha sarcastically laughed, "I'm gonna go get the boys, We'll talk later," whispering the last part before walking out. My eyes watched as she swayed her hips walking away as if there was no one watching. It was a nice backside.

A throat being cleared pulled me out of my stare. I looked up to Tony, seeing he was eating blueberries from Steves bowl of fruit. His eyes were on mines, and his jaw was clenched. He was upset about something.

"Hey, hey, hey, those are for Steve," I say trying to change the mood. I go to grab the bowl but Tony grabs ahold of my wrist.

"What was that," He asked, letting go of my wrist eating more blueberries. I take the bowl from him, turning away from him and bringing it to the counter.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I say. I heard and felt Tony walk near me but I continued cleaning the counter since I prepared the food on it. He reached over me grabbing more blueberries from the bowl, placing a hand on my waist. I slap the hand that was in the blueberries, gasping when he did it back.

"Tony," I whined, pushing him back with my backside. He let go of my waist, backing away from me as I cleaned the counter. A couple of seconds later I was done and I turned around to look at him.

His eyes were looking down but they quickly came back up to meet my eyes. His lips were parted slightly, but they were soon pulled into a smirk. His infamous playboy smirk.

"First, Bruce, the Natasha, and Now me, why don't we all just have a good time," Tony joked.

"You idiot," I yelled throwing grapes and blueberries at him, causing him to laugh and turn to run out of the room.

"Stupid man," I say while kicking his butt as he left.

(what'd you think? It will include all the original 6 avengers in the relationship, as well as the others as close friends.)
