The Panic

"No" Veronica whispered before she disappeared. This left the owners of the voices to be in a state of shock.

"Where did she go," the feminine voice Veronica heard, which was owned by Hope Mikaelsons. The Mikaelsons were all looking in the place she was in seconds before.

"I told you we should have waited," Haley tells Klaus, he had been the first voice that called out to Veronica. He knew they should have planned this out, but he couldn't help himself. The Mikaelsons were coming back from getting food, walking back home, when they saw Veronica running on the track.

They were gonna wait. Wait to plan how they would approach her. However, that all went out the window when Klaus got impatient and walked up to her. He had to. He wanted Veronica to come home.

"You bloody idiot," Rebekah began, "you spooked her." They all missed her, but they knew they had to act accordingly. But it was too late. She knew they were here. The ball was in her hands now.

"Where did she go," Hayley spoke again. "Better yet, how did she do that," asked Hope. She was still staring at the spoke where her sister was just sitting. She wouldn't lie, she was amazed by just the simplistic action. It wasn't regular ancestral magic she used to leave. She didn't go invisible. She just disappeared.

Freya was thinking the same thing. When she disappeared, a purple and blue light appeared and disappeared just as quickly. Leaving only purple and blue sparks floating in her absence. You could even feel the power coming from just the sparks.

The Mikaelsons continued to voice their complaints at Klaus before Elijah spoke up, "Whats done is done, She now knows we are here, instead of placing blame, why don't we figure out our next move." The Mikaelsons then got quiet, thinking what they should do.

"Why don't we go to her," Klaus suggested breaking the silence. The Mikaelsons looked at him in wonder of what he meant. Then they saw he was looking off at something in the distance. Following his gaze, they knew what he meant. They would go to her home.

Back at the tower, Veronica appeared in her room instantly falling to the ground in tears. Bucky was no longer in her room. He went to his room to take a cold shower, and now he was taking a nap.

Ronnies room was filled with heavy sobs and unsteady breathing. Why her, why now? She asked herself. Negative thoughts flowed through her brain. She hated that, just by hearing their voices she could fall right back into that scared little girl she used to be. Just by the sound of their voice they could ruin everything she built for herself.

Every second her chest grew heavy, and her breathing became unsteady. She tried to calm herself but failed due to the fact that she was scared. Her cries soon became louder and her chest felt more heavy. As if someone was standing on her.

The floor began to shake the more she cried, but she didn't even know. She didn't hear Friday asking her if she needed help. She didn't hear her father run into the room yelling her name. Friday had announced to him that Veronica was experiencing a severe anxiety attack. As soon as he heard that he immediately ran to come help his daughter.

On his way there, he felt the ground shaking, which made him run even faster. He heard her cries all the way down the hall which made his heart break. When he reached her room he tried to reach her, to comfort her and help her calm down, but their was a barrier around her. A purple and blue barrier surrounded her room, stopping anyone from getting near her.

The Avengers that were in the building, Bucky, Natasha, Steve, Thor, and Sam, felt the tower shake from where they were at. They knew what caused it. They all ran to her room to see Tony being pushed back by a magical force and a distraught Veronica on the ground.

Their hearts hurt from seeing her in such a state. She was on the floor shaking, and sobbing in pain. Just by looking at her face they could tell she was scared of something. But they didn't focus on that, they would focus on that later, they focused on trying to calm her down.

"VERONICA," Bucky called out to her, she heard her name being called multiple times but in the state she was in, she couldn't do anything. Her vision was w, and her throat was now burning in pain from all the crying. She couldn't breathe, she couldn't focus on anything around her but herself.

Tony finally got passed the barrier, after shoving his body through it. He immediately got down on the ground and pulled Veronica to him. He felt her flinch hard but he didn't let go. He just held her whispering calming things to her.

He already knew what to do, not only from him having his own anxiety attacks, but from being there when Veronica had her. However, this one seem different. She was genuinely afraid.

The other Avengers watched as Veronica started to calm down. She was still crying and breathing uneasy, but she was no longer shaking. When the barrier dropped they stood in the same spots they were in, knowing it was best not to crowd her. She was in the arms if someone who could help her best.

Veronica's vision was no longer blurred, and she could see her family standing behind her father with concerned and heartbroken expressions. She closed her eyes while she clung onto her father sobbing.

It took about 20 minutes for Veronica to get control over her breathing and crying. The floor had stopped shaking a while after the barrier had dropped. Her father was still whispering calming words to her as she was still pretty shaken up.

She unraveled herself from her fathers embrace, sitting in front of him. Her hair was all over the place from her shaking, her eyes were extremely puffy. You could see glints of purple and blue sparking in her eye, and on her hands.

Her family watched as she opened her mouth to speak but closed it with a quivering lip. Tears were still streaming down her face, her terror filled face.

Steve, Thor, and Sam decided it was best if they gave Natasha, Bucky, and Tony some privacy. They all sent her smiles wanting nothing more than to give her a hug but knew she wouldn't want to be touched right now. She send them a sad smile before looking at her parents and Bucky.

Natasha walked over to her daughter, sitting on the side of her, hesitantly grabbing her hand. Veronica flinched a little but allowed her mother to take her hand. Bucky stood behind Tony, smiling at her letting her know she was safe, and that he was there.

Wiping her face she closed her eyes before saying, "They found me, their here," it came out as a shaken whisper.
"Who's here sweetheart," Tony asked in a very gentle voice. Looking at her father then at her mother then Bucky then back to her father she repeated, "They are here, They found me,"

This time they realize who she was talking about. Anger crossed all of their faces before their eyes soften. She was scared of them. She worked so hard, to become this powerful woman, who was feared by those who heard of her. Yet, just by thinking or seeing her birth family, all that building , came tumbling down.

"Honey, they can't get to you here," Natasha told her. Veronica just shaked her head face shows a pained expression. She let go of her mothers hand and pushed herself backwards until she hit a wall. When she hit the wall she brought her knees up and wrapped her arms around them.

"They found me," she whispered. That broke everyone heart even more. Bucky looked at Tony and Natasha before saying, "I got this."

They looked at him as if it was to ask, "Are you sure," which he nodded yes. Tony and Natasha looked at their child before nodding and getting up and leaving out the room. They whispered to Bucky that they would be with the other informing them of the Mikaelsons arrival before closing the door.

Bucky made his way over to the love of his life and sat down in front of her. He pushed the hair out of her face before bringing her into his arms. It took a minute for her to accept his embrace. But none the less she wrapped her arms around him seeking comfort.

They sat there for five minutes before Veronica pulled away. Not fully wanting losing physically contact, she grabbed his real hand and started fidgeting with his fingers.

"Im scared," Veronica whispered to him. In the back of her mind she knew she would have to face them one day, they were immortal creatures. She just wished it wouldn't be so soon. Not now. Not ever.

Bucky looked at her before placing his metal hand on the side of her face. "You don't have to be scared anymore doll," he began, "You are here in a building full of people who will do anything to protect you. They cannot, cause you anymore harm, not while I'm here not while your families here."

"You, are one of the most powerful beings to ever exist. More powerful than them, more than they will ever be. You are a trained fighter who places fear into the hearts of our enemies. You have worked so hard at building this life for yourself. Don't let them tear your masterpiece down. Don't let them create fear in that gorgeous mind of yours because you my beautiful partner, have worked so hard, to become who you are today," Bucky told her. She had tears rolling down her eyes again to which Bucky wiped away.

She nodded, taking in his words. She hated how they made her feel weak, just by showing up. Just by hearing their stupid voices. She was a force to be reckoned with, the Mikaelsons couldn't even make her bleed with their most powerful abilities. She was more powerful than them. She had made sure she was.

Veronica couldn't let them control her life. She wouldn't be weak anymore. She has a family who made her feel everything but weak.

"Ok," she whispered to him. Bucky stood up, picking Veronica up bridal style before walking over to her bed. He got into the bed with her in his arms laying he down on top of him. Thats all she needed in that moment, comfort. He made sure she got it.

Bucky's mind was only on her. She scared him. Seeing her like that on the ground, shaking and sobbing, scared him. He knew she had panic attacks but he had never seen one of that capacity. He didn't care about anything else but getting to his girl.

He was angry, not at her, but at the Mikaelsons. Over the time they have date she only talked about them a little. But from that little he knew, he hated them. He wanted nothing more than to track them down and make them feel at least a fraction of what they made her feel. But right now, Veronica needed him. Her mental health was more important than anything else in the world right now.

Natasha and Tony were in the training room with Steve, Thor, and Sam, filling them in on the situation. Throughout the years Ronnie has spent with them, they have been her biggest protectors. All the Avengers have, so naturally all of them got angry when they heard the Mikaelsons caused this.

They have caused her so much pain, pain she isn't over, pain she would probably never get over. So they didn't under stand why they choose to make an appearance now.

Tony and Natasha felt like they failed. Not with her no, but at protecting her identity. For the past 7 years they made sure her face and who she was, was only known by necessary people. Now the Mikaelsons have found her, the one group of people they never wanted to find her have. But they will focus on their feelings after. Veronica comes first.

As the Avengers were discussing what they would do, they were interrupted by Friday, "My apologizes for the interruption, but  there are guest demanding to be let in."

"Did they say their names?" Steve asked.

"They said their names were the Mikaelsons"
