Hey, guys welcome to a new chapter today I hope you all are doing well and staying safe as you may know I went on some sort of a hiatus, I was practicing and studying for my SATs that was canceled until further notice so I have time to study more and update my books as much as possible because in the near future I have more books I am planning and want to write on Wattpad and I know you all will love the books. I also apologize for not updating for the past few weeks it has been crazy and I have been busy researching for a home project (since I am staying home) and doing my American Literature research project (almost done with it) I will try and keep updating as much as I can since I know you guys will need something to read.  

If you guys haven't seen the picture then you dumb lol (just kidding) I will be introducing a character that I have talked about for a while but never introduced him only because the chapters I was writing was already long so yeah.

In today's chapter, Tony is crashing at Steve's place for a little while until they capture Reverse-Flash, Barry is trying to improve his speed so he can go up against his mother's murderer, Leonard Snart is back in town with a new partner in crime name Mick Rory, so pretty much 1x10.

Oh, I almost forgot, shout out to my friend from school spikerose4 she published a book I think recently it is called The Institution of Amissus: School of Misfits, there isn't a cover for that book yet MTPalmTree is currently making it for her, so far the book is interesting so far she posted the Prologue and the first chapter which isn't much but it is a work in progress so far so check it out vote and comment on her book :D

Barry's Pov

My name is Barry Allen...I am not the fastest man alive. That title belongs to the man who killed my mother. But not for long. Ever since the battle I had with the man who murdered my mother I have been training almost 24/7 to improve my speed. I was currently running around while Cisco, Caitlin, and Dr. Wells were monitoring my speed, they were using drones which was currently chasing me around firing at me. I avoided every single bullet I was also waiting for Cisco to shoot a missile at me. I got in position in front of the drone 

"Cisco you gonna bring it or what?" I asked through the earpiece. Moments later the drone fired a missile. I watched as the missile came towards me, my friends watched was happening and started to panic. I ran towards the missile and grabbed it and swung it at the drone blowing the drone up. I flashback to the team and started to eat something. I didn't realize I was this hungry. After a few minutes, I threw an empty Rasin box in the pile of the other empty boxes I ate a lot I honestly don't know how many boxes I ate. 

"Very Impressive, Mr. Allen," Dr. Wells said to me looking at the monitors "your reaction to stimuli at super-speed continues to improve," He said

"It's still not enough," I said crossing my arms

"it will be. You keep working like you are, you stay focused like you are, and you will be ready the next time your man in the yellow suit comes around" Dr. Wells said

"I think you mean the Reverse-Flash" Cisco said. We gave Cisco a weird look he is always coming up with nicknames when it comes to new villains it's quite annoying but some of the names are cool. 

"What? he said it not me" Cisco said "And he's right. The yellow suit, red lightning, and evil... the reverse of Barry" He said

"meh," Caitlin and I said

"Actually I kind of like it," Dr. Wells said

"All right I'm still ready for another round. How many more drones do you have left?" I asked

"Uh two and they've got lasers," Cisco said with a  cheesy smile

"No," Both Caitlin and Dr. Wells said. I sighed

Steve's Pov

I woke up early for my first day at work. I brushed my teeth, showered, put on clothes, greeted a passed out Tony Stark on my couch covered in Big Belly Burger mess- wait, what? I scoffed seeing the mess all over tony and the floor, the tv was still on and Tony was just snoring away. I grabbed the nearest clean pillow and smack tony in the face waking him up

"WHA- IM UP!" Tony shouted with his Iron Man glove still on his hand and pointed at me like I was the target. I scoffed at him again shaking my head "Oh Steve it's just you" Tony said rubbing his head

"Get up," I said sternly

"Oh jeez who shoved a stick up your ass this morning Cap?" Tony asked getting up stepping over the trash and making his way to the kitchen.

"The fact that you trashed my place, crashed on my couch which I thought you said you were going to stay at a hotel," I said crossing my arms

"I was but I thought to make your life a living hell as your roommate sounded a lot funnier," Tony said with a grin. I rolled my eyes at him 

"Look, Tony, I have to go to work in literally about 5 minutes you need to clean this place up," I said sternly 

"Why?" Tony asked sipping coffee. I rubbed my eyes

"Because this is MY apartment and whenever I have guest over I expect them to clean up after themselves," I said which made Tony rolled his eyes but sighed in defeat

"Alright fair enough," He said

"Good," I said grabbing my motorcycle keys "I'll be going now," I said 

"Bye-bye Hunny have fun at work," Tony said jokingly I rolled my eyes and walked out and drove to Jitters. I walked in and saw Iris 

"Welcome to your new working place," Iris said with a smile. I smiled back, this wasn't so bad so far. About 10 minutes in the place was packed. Orders were coming in, I quickly made the coffee and sent them off. 

"Your order will be ready thank you," Iris said to a customer "Hi welcome to- Eddie Brock?" I heard Iris asked

"Hello there Iris" The man, Eddie replied I looked up. I recognized the man from the Eddie Brock tv show he travels to different parts of the countries and interviews people and brings up different controversial topics like politics. I went to Iris 

"I am guessing you are here for your interview?" Iris asked

"Yes, I am you got a minute? it won't take long in fact we are all on a time here" Brock replied

"Of course but I can't do the interview without you ordering something," Iris said with her hand on her hip

"Alrighty, then I'll get a regular tall mocha" Brock replied. I started to prepare his mocha. Moments later Brock and Iris were talking and the cameras were rolling.

"Hello everyone I am Eddie Brock welcome to the Eddie Brock show. Today I am visiting a place call Central City now if you guys recall just a little bit of a year ago or two this place was hit with a massive explosive from S.T.A.R. Labs, the explosion was caused by the Particle Accelerator which malfunctioned and affected more than half of city's population. A few months later there were reports of someone running faster than a speeding bullet, he is called The Flash he stops crime with a friend Captain America which we will hopefully be able to interview after. Before the explosion, this place was getting hit by regular criminals, just every day robber robbing places but BAM the explosive hit and these criminals have this mutant type powers they are call meta-humans. I am here with a reporter who has been known to write posts about The Flash and his amazing crime-fighting skills and she is here to tell me more about this amazing speedster here is Iris West" Brock said to the camera. I watched as the interview kept going without any problems

"Now do you know who The Flash is? What his name is?" Brock asked looking at his notebook

"I wish I knew, even if I did I cannot tell you for the safety of his friends and his family" Iris replied

"Right I get that I mean look at Tony Stark as Iron Man soon as he outed himself things have been happening to him, from terrorist blowing up his mansion to the Avengers breaking up I get it, I believe superheroes should hide their identities no matter what to protect not only family and friends but the city, too," Brock said and gave me a glance. I kinda glared at him. "Another thing I want to bring up is that with new meta-humans coming around and having at least 2 heroes stopping them are you afraid of having powers yourself?" Brock asked. Iris shifted in her seat uncomfortably but focused on Brock

"Hard to say, I wasn't really affected with the accelerator but my foster brother Barry was, he was in his lab working on his mot- on his case for the CCPD and he got struck by lightning and until recently he hasn't shown signs of powers or abilities he just got...weirder," Iris said causing Brock to grin slightly 

The interview went on, Brock asked some questions and added his thoughts. The interview went on for about 20 minutes before leaving.

"Coming up I will be interviewing the captain of the CCPD and asked him what he thinks about these meta-human criminals. Also be sure to tune in next week where I go to Seoul, Korea and talk about the disappearance of 7 boys, disappeared all at the same time and place without a trace. Were they kidnapped? What happened? How did this happen?" Brock asked looking at the camera

"And cut we are good," the director of the camera said. Brock shook hands with Iris and thanked her before packing up and leaving

"Jeez 7 boys disappeared all at the same time and place without a trace that's...odd," Iris said I nodded. After Brock and his team left, everything continued. 

Barry's Pov

After training almost all day I got a call from Joe letting me know there was an attempted robbery. I quickly went over to the location. I looked at the mess on the ground. I studied it for a second when I got called by Joe.

"Bar," Joe said

"Hey" I replied back "Well the breakage indicates that the door somehow had zero viscoelasticity when it hit the ground" I explained

"What does that mean to normal people?" Joe asked looking confused. I sighed

"Sorry uh the steel shattered like glass" I simplified it then realized what this meant, I looked right at Joe "It was frozen Joe," I said sternly

"Snart, he's back," Eddie said walking up, "I thought Snart was some world-class thief. All these expensive cars...he didn't take any of them it doesn't make sense" Eddie said

"Eddie, put out an APB on Snart" Joe commanded and Eddie nodded and walked off leaving me and Joe. I looked at Joe

"Snart wasn't here to steal anything he was setting a trap for me and by me I mean-"

"Yeah, I know who you," Joe said.

After packing up the scene I raced over to S.T.A.R. Labs to break the news to the team. 

"for a non-metahuman, Leonard Snart is proving to be quite the Nemesis. He still has the cold gun the one he stole from us the one I built" Cisco said still beating himself up over that

"Well, what does he want this time?" Dr. Wells asked

"The Flash" I replied "If Snart wants a fight with the Flash, then I'll give him one"

"Well..."Dr. Wells started

"You don't think I should?" I asked

"I didn't say that. But, Barry as fast as you are, you cannot be everywhere at once. Dr Wells said. I rolled my eyes shaking my head of course they'll do this to me. "And it becomes then a question of priorities. now in the last month, you have made a commitment to increasing your speed, enhancing your reflexes and it's working you're finally getting faster" Dr. Wells explained

"Okay, but what am I supposed to do, just ignore Snart?" I asked

"The last time you had a fight with Snart, a train derailed you were lucky to get all of those people to safety and you almost got killed if it wasn't for Captain America saving you you wouldn't be here Barry," Caitlin said reminding me of the time Snart and I fought.

"And if you don't give him that fight...he may just back off, and there'll be no casualties," Dr. Wells said. I sighed "Look, Barry, Cisco and I will work with Joe and the police and devise a way to catch Cold" Dr. Wells said saying Snart's nickname. After a long talk I flashed over to CCPD, I was in my lab hanging out when Joe walked in. 

"Joe, hey" I greeted him

"Hey I'm glad you're back I've been going over Snart's file," Joe said

"Thanks, um I need to talk to you," I said "As CSI, my work on this case is done and as the Flash, I don't think I can focus on Snart right now," I said

"You mind telling me what brought about this change of heart?" Joe asked I sighed and sat down at my chair

"This man in yellow, the man that killed my mom is still out there I have to be ready to face him which means amping up my speed," I said 

"It's a question of priorities. Your mom's killer isn't the only reason you've been doing this. You told me that if you could use your powers to save someone from a burning building you would" Joe said

"Look, Dr. Wells and S.T.A.R. Labs are gonna work with you. Cisco thinks he has a way to protect the police against Snart's cold gun" I said

"Barry I can understand if you're scared," Joe said

"We talked about this, of course, I'm scared, Joe, this guy could run into the precinct and kill everyone in here in seconds He threatened Iris it's only a matter of time before he goes after Steve if he hasn't already. I won't let him hurt the most important people in my life again. If that means devoting every second I have outside this place to getting faster and to stopping him, then that's what I'm going to do" I explained and Joe nodded. Joe was about to say something else but we were interrupted by some loud voices. We both looked at each other confused and then walked out to the stairs we saw some people with cameras and a guy holding onto a small notebook, judging by the looks of him he looked like an interviewer. I looked a Joe 

"What is this?" I asked Joe shrugged then Eddie came up to us

"Yoy ready for an interview Joe?" Eddie asked Joe looked confused 

"Wait what interview?" Joe asked then Eddie pulled him to the side and explained to him. I snuck downstairs and made sure I wasn't on camera when I felt someone tug me into a corner. 

"What the he-" I was cut off by a gloved hand 

"Shh" The person said and I recognized the shield he was holding

"Captain America?" I asked through his hand. He pulled his hand away 

"Sorry kid I couldn't let Brock see you, this interviewer is...strange. He came into Jitters while Iris was working and interviewed her about Meta-humans and other things. Ever since then I have been following me" Captain said and peeked around the corner watching the interviewer interview Captain Singh. I came closer and leaned with Captain to watch what was happening. Captain quickly pulled back and knocked his head against mine. "Oh sorry," He said nervously. There was so little distance between him and me that one little nudge could make us kiss. I backed away and blushed. 

"Um so what does this Brock dude want with metahumans?" I asked breaking the awkward silence

"To be honest...I don't know I texted my friend who is spending a few nights at my place to investigate him...he's a tech nerd and knows how to find out the truth about someone or something" Captain said 

"Hmm, I have a friend like that too," I replied with a smile. He smiled back his smile looked sweet and full of kindness it reminded me of Steve. I looked away before Captain caught me staring. I looked around the corner and didn't see the brock dude. "Look I have to get going Captain um good luck on your investigation Cap," I said not looking at him and walked out 

"Barry wait" Captain tried to stop me but ended up catching the attention of Brock's crew 

"Ah, Barry wait what up! My name is Eddie Brock I am a reporter for my Brock show I am doing an interview talking about the changes in Central City after the Particle Accelerator explosion tell me what do you do around here?" Brock asked I cleared my throat nervously and looked at Captain who was hiding behind the corner. He shrugged then flashed me a thumbs up

"I am a CSI" I replied finally

"Ah, so you deal with dead bodies and everything correct?" Eddie asked me and I nodded

"Ever since the explosion and people walking around the city with new powers and hurting innocent non-mutant people around here how do you feel knowing that meta-humans are killing a lot of innocent people?" Brock asked me I looked at the camera and started to sweat 

"Um well it is still a shock to most of us in Central City that these people showing up with powers and hurting the people without powers and uh-" I tried to finish but was cut off

"And he doesn't have to answer that because he has a job to do" A man came from behind me and everyone including Brock's crew gasped. I had a weird look on my face and turned around and saw a man wearing glasses with a weird looking beard and was wearing a suit. He looked like a rich businessman.

"You have got to be kidding me" I heard Captain America behind me 

"Good to see you too Captain America" the man spoke I looked at Captain and the man it's like they knew each other "What are you doing here Stark?" Captain asked. I recognized the name he said...Stark...then I remember when Steve and I hung out and I pointed him the Queen building and he went on about a man named Tony Stark and how they had a falling out. I looked at the man 

"You're Tony Stark?" I asked him and he nodded

"You must be Barry Allen the man who got struck by lightning fell into  coma and bam back to life," Tony said 

"How did you kn-" I started then looked at Captain America "Is this the tech dude you were talking about?"I asked him and he nodded

"Tech dude eh?" Tony asked giving Captain an amusing look that made Captain roll his eyes

"Excuse Mr. Stark as much as this is an honor to have you here in Central City but I am doing an intervie-" Brock started but got cut off by Stark wow he really loves doing that

"yeah yeah interview about Dr. Wells' dumb project failing blah blah," Stark said which started to boil my blood

"Hey his project was supposed to change the world and his city," I said

"Oh it sure did now he has a bunch of dead bodies on his hands and people with mutant-like powers that are destroying the city and I am here to make sure none of that is going to happen," Stark said looking at the camera "This city needs more than 2 heroes they'll need someone to make weapons and help them track down meta-humans before CCPD could," Stark said

"Oh no-" Captain sighed rubbing his eyes

"Iron man is officially staying in Central City for a while," Stark said and the CCPD officers were whispering frantically to each other and Brock and his crew looked stunned and confused. I looked at Tony and remembered him now I met him when we were trying to take down the man in yellow. I gave a glare and he smiled and winked at me. I saw Captain stare down Stark

Why do I have an empty feeling like those two had a history....
