Chapter 13

Third Person

"How did you know... about everything?" Sean slowly spoke; a small raspiness hids in his breath. He stood still, and held his breath for (Y/n)'s answer; he wanted to know urgently, because his heart was going to explode out of distress if she didn't respond.

(Y/n) stared at Sean, gulping away her possible answers. She couldn't believe it was real, and she wished it isn't. The fact that she would let her emotions controlled her and make her slip the most important thing out—the most important that will break her relationship with the brothers. She knew she wouldn't hide the truth from them forever, but she didn't expect for it to break out at such a sorrowful and intense time.

(Y/n)'s chin trembled slightly, and the trailed of tears were still visible on her face. As she opened her mouth, many answers and thoughts bombarded her, like it was giving a clue that it was her fault. Her stomach twisted and turned, just like someone was squeezing a soaking cloth inside of her, and it hurt her mentally and physically. She never knew this much emotions can be felt so deeply at the same time.

(Y/n) closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath, and her fingers twitched along, followed by her restraining vocals. "I'm going to tell you the truth, and you'll have to believe me...," she quivered, and she clenched onto her fists to stop the uncontrollable shaking that her troubled mind was doing the work of. Her words will determine everything on forward, and that made her really scared. She didn't want to lose Sean and Daniel. She said she hates Sean, but it was only to show how angry she was at him. If she loses Sean and Daniel, what purpose would she have? She'd already lost everything back in her world, so her confession frightened her dangerously.

Sean did not answer, but he gave her a curious and worried look back. He was scared of what she was going to say, reminding himself that it will be the truth, claimed by her.

"You're..." Her voice was weak. She narrowed her eyes and let out a deep sigh before speaking again; that gave her time to prepare for everything once more.

As she quickly thought, a sudden rush of emotions overwhelmed her, so she blurted it out before she was even ready. "You're ... in a video game!" She nervously bit her lips and averted her eyes immediately. After blurting it out, it sounded more like a joke than the truth, and she regretted saying it without looking at his eyes sincerely.

Sean stepped forward, he and shook his head in disbelief. "(Y/n), what the hell are you talking about?" His tone was filled with distrust. "You said you were going to tell me the truth!"

"It is the truth!" she cried out. She clenched onto her chest; it had started to throb violently. Her eyes wandered to the floor, avoiding all the doubtful looks on Sean's face.

"Please ... just quit the bullshit." He looked at her. "Who are you, (Y/n)?" he asked. "Who are you really?"

The more Sean spoke, the more (Y/n) noticed that his energy had became slightly distant and filled with doubt. Why did all of this had to happened so quickly? She was not ready to lose anyone and everything else.

Her throat tightened, and her eyes stung with tears. She stepped forward Sean, but he stepped back.

Her heart sank.

"You don't believe me?" she whispered. She looked at Sean directly in the eyes. Even at this state, his eyes were still the most beautiful thing she've ever seen, even though it was filled with doubts of her...

"The part where I'm in a video game?" He scoffed. "Why would I?"

She was going to prove it to him. It was what he wanted: the truth. And she couldn't just lie to Sean anymore... She can't handle the guilt and pressure.

"You are the protagonist of the game called Life is Strange 2. You are created by a game studio called DontNod," she furiously spoke out with her eyebrows furrowed. She sniffed and wiped her remaining tears away. She didn't want Sean to interrupt, because he would have too many questions, so she quickly continued. "The players are able to control everything you do, and me—myself—are one of the players. I was ... I was somehow sucked into this universe, believe it or ... not." She bit her bottom lip like she always does. "All I have said was the truth—everything."

All the things she said was like a dramatic movie plot for Sean, and his expression turned disgusted by it. He wasn't buying it at all. There was no way his life was just a fucking video game; all that had happened can't just be merely entertainment to people who can "control him." Besides that, what proof does she have? Was she trying to make a fool out of him?

"If you are so sure, then—" He looked away. "—prove it to me. "Explain how I'm in a fucking video game. No, that my life is a video game!" he said, restricting himself to be angry.

But what will happen next after she tells him everything?

She let out a shaky breath, again. "I can tell you everything about your journey ... Starting at Seattle," she said hesitantly. "I played the game... And I know everything that had happened."

Sean's eyes widen. His lips parted to speak, but he could not say anything back but the word for her to continue: "Okay..."

(Y/n) nodded and clenched her fists. She told him everything that happened in Seattle, following with the events after, and eventually them leaving Beaver Creek. She explained her wish and how she supposedly got on the train. She explained everything—especially about Daniel's powers...

He let out unsteady breaths. "Holy fuck..."

"B-but if you think about it ... are we really in the video game right now?" she tried to explain, trying to get a point across. "I'm here currently ... and I'm not from this universe, a-and—"

Sean put his hand out, and he ran over his face with the other one. "Please, just stop," he mumbled.

"But—Sean! I'm trying to say that we might not—"

"I said stop!" he shout out, his voice quivering. When he looked up, his face was in tears. "I can't take it ... all of this," he muttered.

(Y/n) rested her body, and a bigger frown filled her face.

This felt like it was getting out of control, and their feelings is just now messing with them, making them do regretful things. Both of them had their doubts of each other, and neither of them was stable enough at the moment to apologize to one another.

Sean's sigh shook, and he closed his eyes to calm his intense thoughts.

He slowly opened his eyes. "You knew that Daniel has—?" He intimately scoffed.... "Who are you, (Y/n)?"

(Y/n) stared at him sorrowfully.

"If ... if you're a threat to Daniel ... we can't stick together," he said bitterly.

A threat? she had thought as her heart broke. She shook her head in disbelief, and more tears forced themselves out of her eyes. "I get it," she sobbed out. "You see me as a threat, huh?" she weeped out once more. Now, she was crying with sobs, and it was not like she wanted to. When the sorrow takes over, your voice let it out before it begins to burst inside of you. "I've been so—" She hiccuped. "I've been so..." She couldn't finished any lines, for her cries kept interrupting her.

Sean reached for her with trembling hands. "(Y/n)..." He restrained himself and backed away with a troubled face. He reluctantly walked away, trying not to look back at her. Tears raced down his cheeks, and he tried to calm his composure as he heard her cry painfully.

(Y/n) jolted her head up. "W-Wait..." Her voice was shaking. She stepped forward, and she noticed that her legs were shaking, too. Everything was. It was scary all over. She reached out her hand desperately to him. "Sean!" she yelled out in agony. "Are you leaving me?"

He stopped walking. He slowly slumped his head down, and tears dropped down to the forest floor. His burning eyes twitched, and he held in his sobs. He took deep breaths with his eyes closed, and he continued to stomp his steps. His nails clenched onto his skin: his fists were harshly crumbled.

"Please!" she cried. "I don't have anyone else!" Her voice gradually toned down as her sobs overpowered her. "I can't lose anything else..."

Her hand covered her mouth to prevent herself from letting out louder cries. Tears streamed down her face as sorrowful moans escaped her trembling lips. She let out a harsh sob, her hand muffling the noise.

Her heart started to beat faster and faster.

It felt so crazy how everything could just end so quickly in a blink of an eye. All the memories she made together with Sean and Daniel was one of her favorite memories of her life, and now, it was burning and crumbling in her tangled mind.

She wanted to desperately go home.

She jolted up, and she started running deeper into the forest. She had no idea where she was going to go, but her mind needed the break from Sean and everything else. She felt like her legs were going to give up on her, but everything she cared and wanted has already done so, so such things as legs were not going to stop her.

As she ran, it was her chance to let out the loud cries... The forest echoed her overpowering sobs, and she hiccuped out incoherent mumbles. "Arghhh!" she painfully screamed out, her hand meeting her chest.

Many branches and trees scratched her, but she felt nothing, or has she not care, because her heart was already broken, and that was all it mattered. She bit her lips as powerful tears rushed down her (s/c) cheeks. Her eyes were now red, because she rubbed it so much: and so were her nose and cheeks.

"Ah!" she yelped out as she slipped. Her knees hit the ground, but instead of caring for the pain, she continued to cry. Her (h/c) hair covered the sun's light from her eyes as her head slumped down to the floor.

She cupped her face as grief overflowed her brittle mind and body. She sat there on her knees, whimpering on to her hands. She thought she was all alone.

"(Y/n)...," a voice scoffed. It approached her as she could hear it's footsteps coming closer from behind.

She jolted her head up.

"You hopeless girl, why are you always crying?" they asked.

She recognized the voice, so she quickly turned around to confirm. She gasped and fell to her back when her eyes met a gun pointing at her. It was right in her face, and it pierced right through her eyes, and so was his creepy glare. Her breath were uneven, and her eyes seemed to be locked on to the silver gun.

He let out a gentle, freaky smile... "You're going to be alright. I promise."
