Too late...: Saida

Dahyun ran as fast as her legs could take her. Her lungs were screaming for air, but she didn't care. There was one thing that mattered...Sana...

"Dahyun-ah!" Sana yelled as she jumped into the arms of the younger.

"Did you miss me?" Dahyun asked "Of course I did!" Sana replied cheerfully.

Dahyun smiled lovingly at the older girl, she was the luckiest tofu in the whole world...

Tears were streaming down the pale girl's face as she ran through the neighbourhood.

She didn't care about all the weird stares she was getting...

"You know...one day, I'm going to marry you..." Sana said, staring up at the night sky.

"Sana!" Dahyun yelled, flustered.

Sana chuckled "You're adorable..."

They snuggled with eachother, watching the night fall, and a new morning arise...

"Please, please..." Dahyun pleaded to the gods. She just wanted to see her for one last goodbye...

"KYAHHH!" Sana shrieked at the top of her lungs "Get it away!"

Dahyun bolted down the stairs "What? What's wrong?!"

"C-cockrach..." Whispered Sana as tears streamed down her face.

"...I literally thought GodJihyo had unleashed a demon upon you..." Dahyun mumbled, shaking her head.

"Don't worry," said the tofu, catching the bug, "I'll always be here to protect you"

"I need to live up to that promise..." She mumbled as more tears were blocking her sight. She hastily wiped them away and continued running...

"You'll never leave me, right?" Sana asked, tearing up a bit.

This didn't go unnoticed by the younger, she pulled the older girl into a tight hug, whispering sweet nothings to the older girl.

"...To answer your question, no, I'll never leave you..." Dahyun whispered, kissing her lover's forehead.

Sana smiled...

Turing a corner, and almost tripping in to process, Dahyun sprinted to the park.

As she arrived, panting and sweating hard, she looked up, only to fall to her knees...

"I love you~" The older girl cooed to the younger.

"You're cheesy, but cute..." Dahyun said, chuckling.

The night was filled with laughter and fun...their last night...

Dahyun screamed in frustration as the construction workers had already removed the tree.

She wanted to do something, anything, could she convince them to put it back?

She was racking her brain for ideas... but nothing would help, and soon enough, they were gone, along with her love...

"Dahyunie, I want you to remember, I'll always love you, okay?" Sana said.

"Why are you saying that like you're gonna leave me?" Said Dahyun, jokingly.

Yet, Sana looked dead serious.

"Hey, I know that you're the only one in my heart already, alright?" Dahyun said, pecking her lips.

Sana smiled...but it was a sad, broken smile...

Dahyun sobbed even louder, recalling all her precious memories, she slid to the ground.

Wiping her tears away, she held the locket that was placed around her neck, she opened it again, reading the note inside.

"Dahyun-ah, by the time you are reading this, I will not be there with you. I'm sorry, but our lives were in danger, I couldn't bear the thought of you in pain, so I sacrificed myself for you. I know, it's stupid, and I'm sorry, sincerely, but it had to be done. My ghost will be forever binded to the cherry blossom tree that we first met at. While I can't leave, you can always visit me. Stay safe, okay? Eat your meals, and smile, you look beautiful when you smile, I love you dearly ❤️.

Yours truly,
Sana a.k.a Your squirrel"

Dahyun sobbed harder, she had just lost the love of her life for the second time. She couldn't even say goodbye...

She was too late.

"I'll always love you, Dahyun..." Sana whispered as she was slowly erased from existence...

Wow...that took a while to write (°_°)... But it was worth it (^v^)
