Chapter 2.29 - Sheln and Kleo

Riku and Hiroka were seen walking down the hall with their club application paper in hand. The class had just finished not long after Hiroka scared the heck out of his classmates, and they had nearly totally forgotten to leave the classroom in a rush to see the results of yesterday's Hunt in the lobby.

Anyway, the academy's lobby was a complete mess today. A lot of students from first to third years gathered around the bulletin board.

"What the Hell, hey?"

"Don't push, you jerks!"

"Please let me through!"

"Ow! You stepped on my foot!"

"Show me the results,"

"Move aside for me, will ya?!"

After the Hunt, Hiroka recalled that. When the Demon Prince discovers the Heroine's results at the bulletin board as being the first place on first years, he will find her more interesting because he already knew that she possessed light magic. Following that, the Demon Prince and the Heroine cross paths in the hallway after submitting their club applications, and as they continue to converse with one another, they become closer. But... Hiroka is unsure of what will occur this time because yesterday's experience was obviously different. The Demon Prince didn't even bat an eye or even look at the Heroine once, treating her as though she didn't exist. Hiroka was aware that The Demon Prince was already aware of her magic, yet he seemed unconcerned. At least it's a welcome change of pace.

Anyway, Hiroka thought about turning around and better check the hunt results later. Going to the music club room and handing in his application instead.

He will be squashed to death by the crowds gathered around the bulletin board if he checks the results now.

"Should we hand inn this first?" Riku asked, raising his application paper in front of him.

Looking at the mass of students shoving one another, Hiroka said to Riku, "We should. Better than going there now."

Hiroka overheard a recognizable voice as the two of them prepared to go up the stairs.

"Hey, brother, isn't that...Lord Isamu?"

When Hiroka looked up, he saw two people whom he recognized as siblings from his team from the previous day. Kleo and Sheln were the ones who had just come down the stairs.

Hiroka smiled as he stated "Nice seeing you two again," as Riku silently watched them from behind Hiroka.

Kleo and Sheln continued to make their way down the stairs towards them, saying, "Nice seeing you too again, Lord Isamu."

"Please call me Isamu. I believe there is no need for the formalities as I regard you as my friends already," Hiroka replied.

Sheln and Kleo were astounded and turned to face him after looking at each other.

"We're sorry, but we cannot agree to it. Since we are only commoners, we wouldn't dare call you in such a casual manner," Kleo answered.

Sheln concurred with his brother and added, "I don't think...other noble friends your close with would take it well." Sheln gently stroked her uniform's collar as she spoke.

Hiroka look in surprise at what Sheln stated, and then he quickly started to chuckle softly, which confused Kleo and Sheln.

Kleo asked, "L-lord, what's funny?"

Hiroka, who has lived in the palace since he was a child and is unable to interact with other nobility outside the castle walls. Someone telling him that he has a noble friend made him chuckle quite a bit. Except for Daichi Goro, with whom he interacts frequently when he visits. Daichi Goro served as both a family member and a best friend to him.

In any case, Hiroka had zero interactions with any noble friends his own age. He didn't consider any of the academy's aristocrats to be friends since they were all merely fake.

Hiroka said after he stopped laughing, "You both don't have to worry about that. I have this one older noble friend of mine, but he wouldn't have that kind of mindset toward you; he regards everyone the same. Anyways, It's my offer. I trully wanted you guys to call me casually. It's kind of awkward from the both of you when getting called "Lord," so I wanted you guys to call me Isamu."

Sheln and Kleo began to say, "But-," but Hiroka interrupted them.

"It's okay, really. And if somebody is being rude to you, you don't need to worry about it; just leave them to him and me," said Hiroka, pointing to Riku who remained the same.

The siblings Kleo and Sheln beamed at him and said, "Then we'll talk to you casually from now on!"

"It almost completely occurred to me to introduce him to you. This is my friend Riku Touma. And Riku, this is Kleo and Sheln, who are both siblings." Riku nodded to them, and Kleo and Shlen also nodded back as Hiroka introduce them to each other.

"Lord-I mean I-Isamu, did you guys see the results?" Kleo not used to addressing Hiroka by name.

"Not yet; we decided to check the results later; instead, we're going to hand in our Club application," Hiroka explained. Being called by his name instead of Lord made him feel more at ease.

As the two siblings surveyed the crowd of students gathered around the bulletin board, they made a decision.

"I think we'll also hand in our club application, well go with you," Kleo said, pulling his club application from his pocket.

They started to climb the stairs after Hiroka gave them a nod. Kleo asked, "By the way, what club did you two join to?" while ascending. Sheln added that while she would be joining the art club, her brother would be joining the swordsmanship club.

As they reached the second floor, Hiroka said, "I'll be joining the music club, and Riku will be joining the swordsmanship club. It looks like Kleo and Riku will frequently cross paths after class."

Kleo looks at Riku with excitement. "I'm looking forward on the club with you...ahhh Touma," he says, pleased that someone he recently met has also joined the Swordsmanship club.
Riku glanced at him for a few seconds before nodding, which made Kleo awkward.

"I heard the swordsmanship and art clubs are on the second floor, but the music club... It should be on the fourth floor," Sheln explained, making Hiroka drained despite the fact that he hadn't started climbing the stairs yet.
