59. A Choice

TAEHYUNG'S POV

One second...I have a choice on whether I want to become the heir or not, but at the same time I don't have a choice because there is only one choice and...my head pains from all this. I looked at my grandparents who had big smiles planted on their faces and then turned to my parents who were waiting for my answers. And as for my friends, well, they had mixed expressions.

And Jungkook, he just stared at me with a small smile on his face. It looked like he was ready to accept the choice I was going to choose. I looked back at the floor and sighed. Being the heir was a huge job. You have to make big decisions and also, your life is on the line. You have to be always on your guard and never trust people because you can die easily if you let down your walls.

"You can buy loads and loads of anime and manga!" my grandmother suddenly said and I looked at her gleaming face, "Here in Japan, just say the name of the clan you are from and people will dare not ask anything from you and would treat you like a king."

Oh...so it was like being a king. Or something like that. But the anime part sounds good. They just said that we are like the richest people, so I don't have to wait for days for the manga to come out in the book stores.

"Aish! What are you thinking so much about?" my grandfather came down from the platform and clapped my back, "There is nothing much to think about it. All you have to do is beat the bad guys, save the innocents, marry a girl, rule together, give birth to a successor and live on. And also, you will..."

All the words he said next were drowned out when I realized what he had said. Marry a girl? I don't want to marry a girl. I mean...that's ew! Like not 'ew!', but ew. Marry a girl and give birth to a successor, that's what this is all about. Of course, a clan cannot move forward without a successor and that is only possible between two different genders.

"Now wear this," I looked in front and saw my grandmother holding out a montsuki with the family crest on the back. Yin and yang with golden Sakura flowers, the family crest, "Wear this and take over the clan, Taehyung. Be their leader and—"

"I refuse!" I said and shook my head. The entire room gasped when they heard my response and I heard someone snicker. I bet it's mom.

"W-What?" my grandparents gasped as my grandmother placed a hand over her mouth, staring at me with those shocked eyes, "Why would you...?"

"I don't want this title," I said and took a step back, "I don't want to get involved with all these fights and bloodshed. I just..." I looked to my side to see Jungkook's mouth hanging wide open. I smiled and continued, "I just want to live a normal life with the one I love. Just us both. Together and forever."

When I said that, my hand went to my bracelet and touched it and even Jungkook copied my action.

"I want to be with him forever," I said and turned back to my grandparents who were still shocked, "I am sorry, but I can't accept it. I am really—"

"WAAAH!" my grandfather suddenly wailed and fell to his knees, "WHAT IS THIS DRAMA!? THIS IS...THIS IS...TOO EMOTIONAL!" What the heck is going on?

"Exactly!" my grandmother wailed and wiped her tears with her handkerchief, "I can't believe I cried because of that. THIS IS WORSE THAN THE SECOND LEAD NOT GETTING THE GIRL!"

"Oh my god! Get a grip, old guy!" I looked behind and saw my dad wailing against my mom who was patting his back, "You are so old and still you cry for those weird emotional lines."

"What's going on?" Jungkook asked me as he stood beside me. I shrugged and looked around and saw the...WHAT THE HECK!? WHY ARE THOSE BLACK SUIT GUYS CRYING?!

"Okay enough you all!" my mom came forward after throwing my dad to one of the guys in black suit, "I will explain while the others come back to their normal state."

"Uhmm...okay?" I said as she walked toward us.

"So..." she clapped her hands and immediately the black suit guys got a chair and she sat on it, "Now, what question do you want me to answer?"

"Why are they crying?" I asked her and she waved her hand at me.

"They are crying because of your lines of love and all that weird thing," she made a disgusted face and cleared her throat, "Never mind that. Looks like you have only dumb questions in your head, so I am going to tell you everything from the start.

"You see, after your grandfather heard your boyfriend shout at him through the phone," she waved her hand at Jungkook who hide his face from embarrassment, "That time he asked me whether you were gay or not. When I told him that you were gay from the start, he got a mini heart attack. So, he wanted you to come along with your boyfriend and your friends. Well, I guess that is it."

"Huh? I didn't get it yet!" I said and she sighed as she glared at me.

"Idiot only!" she snarled at me, "He called you here to see whether you wanted money and power or your boyfriend and a normal life. That's all. If you say that you didn't understand again, I am going to chop off your head." I nodded and looked back at Jungkook who looked sort of confused at what she had said. Hold on...was this some kind of a test? I passed, right?

"Taehyungie!" my grandmother hugged me and patted my head, "I am so glad you found your love. When are you going to get married, dear?"

"Ma-Ma-Marriage?" I asked her and looked over at Jungkook who was smirking at me, "I don't know about that. I mean, we still haven't asked our parents."

"I approve the marriage," Jungkook's mom spoke up and raised her hand, "So you can marry now."

"I approve too," my mom said and she also, raised her hand.

"Me too," my dad sobbed and raised his hand.

"US TOO!" my friends shouted and they all raised their hands. Do we really need their approval?

"Even I accept this marriage!" my grandmother squealed with joy and I smiled at Jungkook who was beaming with happiness.

"But I say no!" We all turned towards my grandfather who had crossed his arms in front of his chest and was glaring at Jungkook, "How do I know that you won't hurt him?" he asked Jungkook as he prodded his chest.

Jungkook nervously chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck, "I really do love your grandson, sir and—"

"That is very easy to say, but how can you prove it?" he asked and suddenly screamed when my grandmother whacked his head.

"What's your problem with gay people, huh?" she asked him as her eyes lit with anger. My grandfather trembled and shook his head.

"I didn't mean it that way. I just...I don't know whether he is the right one or not," he said as he suspiciously eyed Jungkook with one eye.

"What do you mean whether he is the right one or not?" she asked him as she placed her hands on her hip, "It is not like you are marrying him or something. It's Taehyung choice to have him or leave him. Not yours."

"Okay fine," my grandfather rolled his eyes, but suddenly glared at the two of us, "but I want to talk to both of them."

*******

JUNGKOOK'S POV

This is creepy and weird at the same time. We were now sitting in front of a chabudai and right opposite to us were Taehyung's grandparents. We had shifted from that 'throne' room to a tatami room which looked pretty comfy and had a warm look to it. I slowly took a sip of the green tea which was brewed by Taehyung's grandmother. My insides jumped at the nutty and slightly sweet taste of the hot tea and I hummed at the delicious taste.

"Stop looking like a pervert!" Taehyung's grandfather suddenly yelled at me and I slightly jumped at his sudden yell. Did he just call me a pervert? How the heck is drinking tea a pervert act?

"What's your name?" he asked me as he took a sip from his tea cup.

"Jeon Jungkook," I replied and suddenly his eyebrows furrowed and he stared at me.

"Are you that Sung-ho's son? That Jeon enterprises guy?" he asked me. Hold on, does he know him? Probably through business stuff? Before I could say anything, he suddenly laughed and began to bang his fist on his thighs.

"I can't believe you are that foxy boy's son," he laughed and suddenly stopped, "Now that's one reason why I don't want you to marry my Taehyung."

"Baka!" Taehyung's mother suddenly whacked him and shook her head, "Parents do not transfer their personalities to their children. So just shut up and don't compare him to his father."

"Aish! Fine!" he scowled at her as he gulped down the whole tea, "Women are so scary. I am not kidding! All the women in this clan are crazy and scary. Taehyung is so lucky. He is marrying a boy and not a girl."

"SHUT UP!" she shouted and whacked him again. Well, I totally agree with him. Right now, Taehyung's grandmother was giving off the same aura like Taehyung's mother.

"Sheesh!" Taehyung's grandfather scowled and rubbed his sore head. He cleared his throat and asked us, "Now, who is top?" Taehyung and I almost choked on our tea and looked at the old man with our eyes wide with shock. He didn't say that.

"What are you two gaping at?" he asked as he ran a hand through his hair, "Who is the top?"

"Uhmm...actually—"

"It's Taehyung, isn't it?" the old man cut through Taehyung's sentence and laughed, "I knew it! The Kim clan is always on top of everything. Even on bed!" I don't know, but it sounds disgusting. Are you telling me that Taehyung's mo—

"Actually, I am the bottom on the bed," Taehyung softly said as he played with his fingers. Silence. It was absolutely quiet as his words sunk deep into the old people's souls.

"WHAT?!" Taehyung's grandfather broke the silence and yelled at us, "You are telling me that a Kim is a bottom? What...how..." he suddenly turned to me and glared with those dark onyx eyes, "You! What did you do it him?"

"I-I-I-I di—"

"Off with your head," he said as he was about to get up to fetch his...I guess, his katana or something to chop my head. But before he could do that, Taehyung's grandmother came to the rescue and punched his stomach. He fell down and groaned as he clutched his stomach.

"Some annoying pig!" she snarled at him and looked back at us. Suddenly her aggressive face changed into a sweet and calm one, "Sorry for that dear. He is a pervert. A big one at that. Anyways..." she took both our hands and clasped them together, "I am glad that you both found each other. Don't worry about what people say about you both or on who is the top and bottom. As long as you stick together, everything will be fine. You have our blessings."

"Thank you, ma'am," I said and she shook her head.

"Don't call me that. Call me obaasan," she said and I nodded.

"Obaasan," I said and she smiled. We got up, when suddenly someone grabbed my ankle and pulled me down. I fell down on the tatami mat with a thud and sat up to see who did that. Turns out, it was Taehyung's grandfather who had grabbed my ankle. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Call me ojiisan, Jungkook."

I am going to miss this book!!! *sobs and wails* More than the book, I am going to miss you guys and your comments!!! *sobs*.... One more thing....do you guys want a short story on Ara and the ghost, hmmmm???

For the question from the previous chapter, what does the family crest mean (yin and yang and the golden Sakura flowers) : First, the golden Sakura flowers...Sakura symbolizes Japan here and for the golden color... the Chinese character for 'Kim' means gold....hehehe....cool right? Second, the Yin and Yang. Yin is characterized as the female and the Yang is characterized as the male. If the clan needs a successor, it needs both the male and the female...so you get it, right? (don't judge me for this one...this just popped in my head >_<)

Don't forget to vote and comment!!! If you find any mistakes, feel free to correct them!!! Have a nice day and me loves you all!!!!
