11. A Deal

Time skips and 'The day' arrives~

JUNGKOOK'S POV

Sickening! Absolutely sickening! I can't believe I am waiting here for my father to come instead of having lunch with Taehyung. He asked me to join him for lunch and I agreed, but a stupid phone call changed the plans. Now I got to come here and wait for a pathetic person who has no balls.

"There he is!" Leishi screamed with joy and pointed to a man who had a slightly graying hair. While the rest waved and smiled at him, I looked at my watch constantly. How long does he take to walk from the airplane till here?

"My love," he called out to my mother and kissed her cheeks. Ew! Leishi cooed at them while I puked at them. Have I even seen them do that? No. Do I want to see them do that? No.

"So, Jungkook," he turned towards and turned to the strict and serios mode, "How is it going?"

"Perfectly fine," I replied back and he nodded.

"Good. Now shall we?" We walked to the two, black cars which were parked right beside us. The couples had to occupy each car, so I was stuck with Leishi in one car and my parents were in another.

So not nice. Leishi kept on moving closer to me while I wriggled closer to the door. She was almost going to flop onto my lap, luckily the mansion came in view and the car stopped. I quickly got out and ran to my own car.

"Jungkook," my father's stern voice called out to me and I cursed under my breath as I turned behind to face him, "Where are you running off to?"

"I need to get back to the office," I replied, hoping that was enough excuse for him to let me go.

"No," he shook his head and I mentally banged myself to a wall, "You will be staying with us for the rest day and tomorrow you can start working."

I groaned and followed them into the mansion. I want to have lunch with Taehyung!

I sat down on the sofa along with Leishi beside me. Adjacent to us was my parents who lovingly talked to one another. Gross! I don't want a live romantic moment, I just want to eat with Taehyung.

"So, the wedding is going to be in few more months," my father started and I wanted to throw an elephant at his face. Did he really need to bring up that topic when he just came back? "Where do you lovers want it to be?"

"Italy," Leishi screamed with joy and my parents nodded to her request. They looked at me and I said, "Hell."

"That's not a nice place to think for marriage, Jungkook," my father commented and I just rolled my eyes at him, "But, Italy sounds good. Maybe we should check there."

"Yay!" Leishi fist pumped the air and I sighed. I want to have lunch with Taehyung.

"Can I go now?" I asked my father who was busy discussing about the wedding place with my mother. He turned towards me and shot me a glare and I sighed. This is going to be a long day.

And it was indeed a long day. They sat till dinner time for deciding the place. Just for deciding the place they wasted half a day. Half a day!? Instead of wasting time with them, I would have had lunch with Taehyung.

There was nothing much to do and they finally chose some coast in Italy, whose name I don't really remember nor care. I ate my dinner in silence and so did the rest. After finishing, I quickly went off to my room to avoid any more conversations with my father.

I slammed the door shut and laid down on my bed. I took a deep breath and inhaled out loudly. So tired. And annoyed. I didn't get to have lunch with Taehyung. I groaned and slammed my face to the pillow.

I bet Taehyung must have felt lonely without me. Poor guy! He must be eating lunch all alone and looking at other people who were sitting with their friends, laughing and talking together. He must have felt left out...or not.

He would have screamed with joy and ran out of the building to his favorite restaurant and eaten peacefully with Jimin. He would have ranted out all bad things about me to Jimin who would just nod and talk about Yoongi to him. They would have lots of fun and I am pretty sure Taehyung would have skipped his work and ran back to his house to watch anime.

How do I know that? Because...because...because...I have no clue!

I sighed and went back to sleep. I have to survive tomorrow with my father.

Whatever Jungkook thought was absolutely true. Taehyung did scream with joy and did run off to a restaurant with Jimin and ranted all stupid things about him to Jimin. But there was one mistake in what Jungkook thought. Taehyung didn't go back to his home right after that. He went back to the office, waiting for Jungkook.

The next morning~

JUNGKOOK'S POV

"I can't believe that security guard still works here. When are you going to get a new one?" my father asked and I just rolled my eyes at him. He hasn't even taken a step in the building and he was already complaining. What was wrong with that security guard?

"When is your meeting?" I asked him, hoping it was today so that I can have lunch with Taehyung.

"Tomorrow." The heck!? I will never get to have lunch with my Taehy—I mean, with Taehyung.

"Are you pissed that I am having the meeting tomorrow and not today? I wonder why," he gave me that cunning smile and I smirked.

"I want you to get out of here as fast as you can," I snarled at him and he just smiled at me, not fazed by my words. We got into the lift and soared to the 12th floor. Every now and then, he would glare at the lazy people and they would tremble in fear.

That was how much they were scared of my father. A strict, stern business man who had a cold heart towards his employees. There was only one thing in his mind; expand the empire and conquer the world. Power is what he craves for. As for me...I just want to have lunch with Taehyung.

We finally reached the 13th floor, the floor of the president and the CEO. He looked at my office and walked towards his. I followed him since Taehyung still hadn't come to the office. Did that guy watch too much anime in the night and overslept?

"You never told me who your assistant is," he looked at me with those cold eyes and I sighed.

"What will you do with my assistant's name?" I asked him and he grinned.

"Decide his or her fate." A cold chill ran up my spine and I gulped. If he removes Taehyung from his position, I am going to smack his face with my foot.

"I am not in a mood to talk to you," I turned around and headed out of his office, "Good-bye."

"Hold on," my father said and I stopped in my tracks, "Why are you protecting your assistant?"

"I am not—"

"JUNGKOOK!" Suddenly my eyes widened when I saw Taehyung in front of me, his hands on his knees and panting heavily. What is he doing here?

"Sorry I am late," he wheezed, "I overslept."

"Uhmm...it is fine. I think you should—"

"Taehyung is your assistant?" I felt a cold presence behind my back and I saw my father glaring at Taehyung with hate and anger.

"Uhmm...yes! He is my assistant. Any problem?" I asked him and he pushed me away and walked towards Taehyung whose eyes were filled with fear. Shit!

"You," my father bellowed at him, "You will be leaving the company. Right now!"

"Father!" I yelled at him and he sent a glare at my direction, "You can't do that! He is my assistant and not yours! You are not going—"

"I'll go," Taehyung suddenly spoke and stood up straight. I was in total shock when he said that. Why did he say that? "I have no interest being here now."

He turned on his heels and walked away. No. What is he doing? I ran behind him and grabbed him by his wrist.

"Don't go," I said and gulped, "I will do something about it. I—"

"There is nothing you can do, Jungkook," he said in a low tone and I could feel my chest crushing itself, "The CEO has the main power, so there is nothing you can do."

"But—"

"Bye, Jungkook." He got into the lift and smiled at me. Suddenly he did something that was totally unexpected. He winked.

I sat in my office all alone. Only the sound of the pen scratching the paper and the keyboards getting tapped by my fingers filled the lonely air.

I was angry. Angry at my father for firing him and angry at myself for doing nothing. Father believes that Taehyung might ruin my marriage with Leishi which is total bullshit! Taehyung has no feelings for me and I tried to explain it to him, but being a stubborn ass, he didn't take it. And now, Taehyung was gone. If only I was more powerful than my father.

I missed Taehyung's voice. His annoying pestering voice that disturbed me from time to time. But his voice and his presence calmed me down and somewhat helped me concentrate too. I bit my lower lip as I looked at the time.

2:00 p.m.

I sighed as I remembered that I had a meeting to attend to. But my mood was down today and I had no intentions in leaving the office and going to unknown place without Taehyung by my side.

I got up from my chair and walked away from my office, without wearing my coat. I went out of the building and got into my car. I left for the meeting which I had to attend with another businessman while my father sat in his office doing god knows what.

"The CEO has the main power, so there is nothing you can do."

Taehyung was right. I am just a position lower to him and was just a pawn in his battle for power. I sighed and leaned back on my seat. Why can't I have a normal life?

TAEHYUNG'S POV

I watched as Jungkook got into his car and drove away. Now is the time. I paid the lady and went out of the café, towards the building. The news of me getting fired was still not known to others, so the security guard let me in. I still had the lift's card and I got in.

I reached the 13th floor and headed towards the CEO's office. I pulled out my bag and took out a letter which was neatly folded and tucked into my book. I held it in my hand and checked whether it was the right one, and it was.

I chuckled and walked towards the door. The time is now.

I knocked on the door and a stern voice boomed from inside, "Come in."

I took a deep breath and opened the door into the office where the CEO was busy looking through the blue folder which I had brought in here before.

"What do you want, Jungkook?" he asked, clearly having no clue that the person who had entered wasn't his son, "I thought you had a meeting today."

"He does have," I responded and he slowly looked up at me and his serious eyes had turned to anger.

"What are you doing here?" he asked me in a cold and angered tone. I smiled and close the door behind me.

"I am here to show you something," I said and pulled out the letter and held it in front of his face. He just saw the paper and suddenly I saw the CEO tremble with fear.

"How did you...?" he got up and removed the same cardboard box that had fallen when I came here last. He took it from atop the cupboard and began to search inside it. I smirked when I saw his eyes widen at the missing letters which were replaced by copied ones. Why did I even print them if I was going to tell him anyways? That was dumb, Taehyung!

"What are you going to do with it, huh?" he yelled at me and I rolled my eyes at him, "You are going to show it to the whole world, right? Remember this, Taehyung. I have your secret too."

He smirked at me and I simply smiled at him. I already knew that, but I came here for another reason.

"I won't show it to anyone unless..."

"Unless?" he asked, impatiently waiting to hear what I had to say.

"Unless you agree to a deal."

So, what do you think will be the deal? Something good or something bad?
