Dino was annoyed. He was in a situation where he could defeat his opponents easily, and yet here he was, struggling in a deadlock fight with Xin and Beretta as they exchanged punches and slashes with him.

"I thought I was far superior to these guys, but was I just being overconfident? Even with two opponents at the same time, I didn't think I'd be having such a hard time."

Xin had now proven that Feiyun's training was effective as he was almost masterfully using the Water's Edge without much difficulty as the Arcadia Honkai energy he absorbed into his body was now useful to control the power of the Water's Edge. Plus, Beretta was acting as a shield while Xin focused on attacking. Beretta's magic was troublesome and was predominantly a support type and was not used to attack Dino directly but to strengthen his own physical values, moreover, he and Xin were immune to his Unique Skill <Sloth>'s <Fallen Hypno>.

"Don't get distracted again, Dino-san."

"You can't afford to look the other way, can you?"

Finally, Dino felt the long-awaited feeling accumulating inside him, and it was time for him to fight back.

"Shut up! Two people teaming up to bully a weak man like me, and yet you talk so high and mighty! It's only because I'm patient that I've been able to keep you guys company. You should be grateful! Take this and get some rest!"

Activating <Fallen Hypno> again, Dino was dearly hoping that the two would finally go to sleep, but alas, it was useless as the assault from the two continued. Since Xin still kept Feiyun's feather close and Beretta's <Double-Crosser> canceling the effect, <Fallen Hypno> couldn't do anything to them.

"Are you kidding me?!" Dino yelled in dismay, "I can't believe they managed to keep things this even until now with me as an opponent. It's not because of me, but because Beretta and the others are so good. In that case, I'll have to use that..."

"I'll admit it. You should be proud of yourself for making me take you this seriously." Dino said as he activated the Ultimate Skill given to him by Veldanava, the <Heavenly King, Astarte>

The unique nature of his <Sloth>... The lazier he was, the more energy Dino could accumulate. He was reluctant to expose this much of his powers since the labyrinth is always under Rimuru's watch but he had no other choice this time. Knowing that she would think of countermeasures to go against his skill, Dino decided to only show the power of his <Sloth King, Belphegor>, targeting its power on Xin and Beretta.

"Now sleep! <Fallen Catastrophe>!"

As the laws were rewritten, and all positive factors began to regress to negative factors, the temptation would lead a person, dead or alive, to a state of cessation. Deep in the labyrinth, the sleeping powerhouse of the labyrinth laid in his cocoon, watching everything unfold inside the labyrinth and issuing orders to those in the labyrinth. He had thought to step up when Dino had made his move but it seemed like his worries were unfounded. He understood now, that while he was the King of Illusions thanks to his Ultimate Skill and the training he received from Veldora, he was still slightly inferior to the one who controlled and bends the absolute laws of illusions, and mental states, whether it be for defense or attack, he found someone who can be considered superior to him.

"F... Feiyun..." Dino muttered

The figure had appeared from the feather in Xin's hand, oddly wearing an outfit of pure white, in contrast to the multitude of colors she usually wore as her battle attire. Looking back at Xin, Feiyun signals for him to pick up the sleeping Ramiris from the floor and back away. Xin nods in understanding and takes Ramiris away from the battlefield.

"You... You are Feiyun, right?" Dino asks with narrowed eyes, "She looks like Feiyun but what is this energy surrounding her? It's weird, it doesn't feel like magicules either..."

She gives him a light and refreshing smile, something that Feiyun usually doesn't do for anyone, "... You can say that. I am her or more like an extension of her. Putting it simply... You can call me 'Yang'. I think 'Yin' is on her way to where Masayuki is..."

Xin blinked, now fully understanding who the person in front of them might be, "An extension of Master Feiyun. Yin and Yang... Two personalities! But then what about the real Master Feiyun?"

As if she was answering his question, 'Yang' added, "Our real body is currently sleeping!"

"Sleep...?! That's crazy...! Where is she even...?!" Dino sputtered as he tried to make sense of the situation, "And you're saying that another one is going to Masayuki?!"

Even if he didn't know the truth behind Feiyun's identity, he knew that one thing was for certain, she was stronger than she seemed to be, "We're screwed... The plan is all screwed...!"

Feldway continued to hide as he observed Cornu, who was trying to fight Venom, Calgurio, and the others after he had invaded the labyrinth to get rid of Masayuki. It seemed that he was making no progress as he was fooled by Jiu's magic, disguised as Masayuki while Bonnie had taken the real Masayuki away to hide. Seeing how Cornu was struggling to even land a killing blow on a weak opponent and not even noticing the imposter, Feldway grew angry but quickly composed himself to not let his killing intent leak before moving to find and kill Masayuki himself. Further down the labyrinth, Masayuki stopped Bonnie. He was upset that he had to leave everyone else alone to fight while he had to run for his own safety. It didn't feel right to him. Noticing his change of mood, Bonnie looked back at him.

"Hey, Masayuki..."

"Bonnie, I'm going back. I was always afraid to talk about my true feelings because I didn't want my true identity to be exposed... but I really wanted to become better friends with everyone. I may be a coward, but I don't want to be a scumbag, you know?"

As soon as Masayuki said that, the Voice of the World suddenly sounded in his head.

Masayuki blinked in confusion though also relieved that he didn't make some sort of mistake. He approved the suggestion for now even though he wasn't interested in any sort of hidden power.

"Who is in my way?! Who are you?!" Feldway asked

A masked girl answered his question, "I am Chronoa. I'm a Hero."

Feldway laughed after a moment of silence, "I never thought I would meet a Hero here. In that case, let me introduce myself. I am Feldway. Phantom King Feldway."

Chronoa remained unconcerned, now perfectly synced with Chloe's consciousness to become a cold-hearted fighting machine, "Phantom King? Hmph, so you're the master of the Phantom tribe. I cannot overlook the evil you've done in front of me, so I've come out just in time to eradicate this threat to humanity."

Feldway chuckled, "Fufufu, you are a bold one. I'll show you what it means to be self-aware, you fool."

Both moved and clashed. Masayuki and Bonnie could only hear the sound of their swords clashing against each other and the flicker of red and white.

"Well, what should we do..."

Bonnie quickly connected the dots and sensed that Feldway had been targeting him based on the sound of the sword clash, so he changed the subject, "This isn't something we can do anything about. We can't afford to worry about it. We're on our own doing what we can, so let's go and help the others!"

Masayuki nods in agreement, once again improvising in the face of an unexpected situation, "Okay. I don't know who this Chronoa person is, but I'll leave it to her!"

They leave the scene as Chronoa and Feldway continue to cross swords. The fight only lasted for a short time, attack and defense were exchanged within a few seconds, and just when it seemed like the battle would last forever, Feldway suddenly started to laugh.

"Oh, so it was here the whole time? I knew it. Veldanava-sama was also hoping for my victory!" Feldway laughed

This confused Chronoa, "What, all of a sudden?"

"Huh, it's none of your business. No, actually, since you and I will be companions from now on, I don't mind telling you." Feldway said with a smirk, "Obey my command, Hope King!"

An absolute command. None of the Angelic Ultimate Skills could resist Michael's <Ultimate Dominion>. Not even Chronoa.

With the Hero Chronoa in his hands, Feldway was now confident of his victory and thus, "Good. You will cooperate with Cornu and kill the boy. I have business on the surface, so I will leave the rest to you."

Feldway made the mistake of leaving the labyrinth to search for the rift that took the flagship after giving his command.

Venom heaved a sigh of relief after seeing Masayuki and Bonnie returning to their group. He had felt a terrible swirl of energy in Masayuki's direction and was beginning to worry that he might have been killed but thankfully, his worries were unfounded.

"I'm so relieved that you're okay!" He sighed out as he looked at Masayuki

Masayuki chuckled, "Haha, it's too early to say that since we still have enemies."

"That's right." Venom said, looking back at Cornu, "Cornu is strong. Despite the clear advantage we have in the labyrinth, he is overwhelming, not to mention winning, and now I don't even know if I can survive."

Although they were at a disadvantage, somehow, seeing Masayuki's face gave him a swell of confidence. It seemed that it did not just affect him, but also Calgurio and Minits.

"Kukuku, I know this is a bad time, but I'm having fun." Calgurio chuckled

Minits hummed in agreement, "I agree with you. Truly, it's as if I am sharing the battlefield with His Majesty."

Even the vampires who have joined the fight also seemed to be excited. Meanwhile, Cornu was confused at the sight of two Masayukis, which meant that one of them was an imposter (a disguised Jiu). This enraged him.

"How dare you underestimate me! You're just a bunch of stubborn worms!"

He had to find the real one but he could also tell that both were equal in strength and insignificant. If he became serious, both could get involved and be killed, which would leave him with no way to know where they would escape to so he had to avoid a wrong kill but that was when a helping hand arrived.

"Cornu-dono, is it? My name is Sariel. I come at the command of Michael-sama."

Chronoa, now possessed by a sentient Sariel, flew in at a high speed that he couldn't keep up with. He didn't doubt her words though since he could tell that she carried a hint of Michael about her.

"That would help. You should aim for the Masayuki on the right. Do not kill him, just take him alive." Cornu ordered

"Understood."

Her gaze met the real Masayuki's as she drew her weapon against him. He was confused, to say the least.

"Um, Sariel? That girl seemed to call herself Chronoa before, but I have no idea how she got turned to the enemy's side in such a short time. I mean..."

His thoughts were cut off as a black feather flew between those battling and 'Feiyun' appeared in a black attire that seemed unlike the ones she usually wore. With a pair of mismatched length of black pants and heel boots, along with a white crop top covered over by a black jacket, her hair tied back in a low ponytail. In her hand was a metal baton that she swung casually. This was 'Yin', the other personality that 'Yang' mentioned.

"M-Mentor?!" Masayuki's voice almost cracked at this new appearance of his Mentor, "W-What...? You really didn't die!"

'Yin' sighed, "Of course I didn't. Otherwise, I couldn't come here to save your ass. Well then, let's see..."

Side-stepping to her left, she avoided a flashing blade from Sariel and lifted her baton, smacking it down on Sariel's hand so hard that they could hear the resounding cracking sound as she dropped her weapon on the ground in slight surprise. Clicking her tongue in distaste, she tapped her head on Sariel's head mockingly.

"Bad girl. You couldn't even resist such a dumb control? Do I need to help you all the time?"

Masayuki's brain seemed to jumpstart a little as his thoughts cycled back to Sariel's face, almost forgetting that this was all happening in the middle of the battle.

"W-What's going on?! That girl... is super cute! Don't wear a mask in the first place! She's really a beautiful girl, isn't she? She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life..." He suddenly feels a vicious chill and his survival instincts scream at him, telling him to not think any further and he trusts those instincts, "Or not... Second place. That's right, the second most beautiful. After all, the most beautiful is still..."

His thoughts went back to the time before he had been transported into the Cardinal World. The blue-haired beauty he had seen in his original world.

"Yes yes, that's her! The kind and gentle type, and so mature and sexy... A perfect score..."

'Yin' gave him a distasteful frown when she heard these thoughts and shook her head. Thankfully for everyone though, he had made the right decision.

Masayuki was stunned, "Huh? Why did I get an Ultimate Skill without even doing anything?! I have to earn up to it! ... Oh well, it is an amazing power but Mentor is here, so we will be okay."

Seeing his refreshing smile, the people around him were suddenly riled up. Unexpectedly, his Ultimate Skill's effects were tremendous.

Even those who had been keeping their distance from the fight suddenly joined in with great fervor and 'Yin' shook her head once more. She couldn't be affected by his Ultimate Skill but she does feel power still welling up inside her. It was quite the sight to see excited soldiers charging recklessly without a care in the world, though. At the same time Masayuki had gained his Ultimate Skill, Velgrynd had also vanished from this world, and fate began to turn its wheels.

As Masayuki remained confused, that person appeared in a mass of energy and formed into a beautiful, nostalgic woman. What manifested with a crimson aura of supremacy that illuminated her distinctive blue hair was the Scorch Dragon Velgrynd. While everyone was frozen in shock, 'Yin' was simply amused.

"Oh wow, the main actress finally makes her appearance..."

All the Imperial soldiers understood immediately that this was the most powerful being who had protected the Empire for the longest time. Though they had reports of her fighting Veldora, it didn't seem to be the case now as she brought Masayuki into an embrace.

"I've been looking for you for a long time, Rudra. Always, always, always, longing to see you..."

Pulling back and placing her hands on his cheeks, Velgrynd then leans down to take Masayuki into a passionate kiss. He lost all his cool judgment in an instant.

"Fi-First kiss! It would be a lie to say that I'm not happy to be kissing such a beautiful woman." Masayuki didn't miss out on an important point though, "But she called me Rudra... Oh no, she must have the wrong person..."

She was still kissing him, so he couldn't tell her that she had the wrong person, and also, he felt like he was about to run out of breath.

"Be cool, be calm, it's times like these when one needs to keep their cool." Masayuki thought as he tried to collect his thoughts but being in close contact with Velgrynd's soft body was still a little too much for him, "It's almost too comfortable as if I'm ascending to heaven... but I must not enjoy it now! What the hell am I doing?!"

'Yin' could almost slap a hand on her head as she saw Masayuki giving up and just resigned to continue the kiss, making his face become even dreamier and causing even bigger misunderstandings as the Imperial soldiers whispered amongst themselves.

"His Majesty is so skilled."

"It might be a bit disrespectful, but I feel the same way. It is a privilege to witness the unwavering love of two adults who look at each other with such deep affection. I can sense the unshakable bond that leaves no room for anyone else."

"Fufu, Velgrynd-sama is like a maiden in love... Fufufu, so the guardian dragon of the Empire is in love with His Majesty."

"Yes! Now the Empire will be safe!"

Hearing this, Masayuki wanted to shout that it was all a big misunderstanding but he was still locked in the kiss with Velgrynd. Thankfully, it was their enemy Cornu, who got him out of the situation.

"Don't be ridiculous, Velgrynd! You're supposed to be under Michael-sama's control! So why are you getting in my way?" Cornu snarled

Velgrynd finally broke the kiss to reply with a glare, "Hey, that's just tactless. There's a limit to how stupid you can be for interfering with us."

"Shut up! Stop playing around and just cooperate!"

'Yin' chuckled aloud, she was both losing patience and amused by the entire ridiculousness of the scene at the same time, tapping Sariel with her baton again as Cornu finally noticed that Michael's influence was slowly fading but remaining inside her, "You really are stupid. To think that you still can't read the situation, you really are a bore. If I'd known, I would've just left it all to 'Yang' to do the work."

Cornu gritted his teeth tight in anger and raised his blade, "Little girls should just go to sleep!"

'Yin' grinned as her bangs shadowed her eyes. Velgrynd quickly moved to form a barrier between them as a shockwave vibrated around them the moment 'Yin' lifted the baton again to block Cornu's strike. Crimson eyes glared up at Cornu and an unspeakable chill ran up his spine. He never felt like this in such a long time, someone who could strike fear into his heart with a simple look.

"You... attacked me and called me a 'little girl' on top of that? Ridiculous." 'Yin' scoffed with displeasure, "I've wasted enough time thanks to this stupid farce, so let's just get this over and done with."

Masayuki winced as he heard a splintering crack when 'Yin' smacked the baton onto Cornu's abdomen, causing him to double down in pain and coughing blood.

"How can this...?!"

'Yin' shrugs, "It was your mistake to come here alone. You were overconfident, so you can pay the price for your mistake when you die."

Cornu glared up at her, "You...! I will come back and get my revenge...!"

"That's a little too late." 'Yin's' eyes glowed eerily as her grin widened, "Your body in the other world is going to die too."

Cornu flinched, "That's... impossible..."

"Why don't you see it for yourself? In the afterlife, of course."

Lifting the baton once again and bringing it down on Cornu's head, the impact cracking the entire labyrinth ground beneath and Cornu's body eroded into ashes. True to 'Yin's' words, even his real body in the other world couldn't survive the mental impact and was erased without any speck of Cornu's existence left.

"Mentor... That was hardcore..."

Turning back to them, 'Yin' takes a glance at Sariel... at Chronoa as she finally starts resisting the control with all she could, frozen at where she stood. She could always remove the control herself but the <Ultimate Dominion> is still something that she needs a little more grasp on to fully remove its influence so she decided to let it be for now. Everyone, like Masayuki, was now relieved that the battle was over but some were nervous and fidgeting with awkwardness as they looked up at Velgrynd. Bonnie, who was beside Masayuki, decided to speak up for the other Imperial soldiers.

"Lord Marshal, I am Bonnie, 7th of the Single Digit hierarchy! May peace be with you, Lord Marshal."

Velgrynd waved his greeting off, "No need to salute. So, what are you trying to say?"

"Yes! I disobeyed the Commander's order and abandoned my mission to eliminate this boy Masayuki. I understand that my crime is worthy of death, but before I am punished, there is something I would beg of you, Lord Marshal." Bonnie said as the entire place fell silent after he revealed the true identity of Velgrynd

Unfazed, Velgrynd asked, "What is it?"

"Our loyalty to the Empire is unchanging. Whatever His Majesty the Emperor wills, we know that we must obey his orders. Therefore, I would ask your permission for the soldiers to return home! The executives, including myself, have no complaints about taking responsibility for their punishment, but-"

"That's enough." Velgrynd interrupted his words and chuckled when she saw Bonnie's helpless expression on his face, "Oh dear, did you misunderstand me? You've all done a great job for a bunch of fools, and I commend you for that. I thank you for protecting my beloved Rudra."

At those words, all the Imperial soldiers fell to their knees and hung their heads.

"So then...?"

"I had no intention of doing anything to you guys in the first place. All that matters to me is Rudra, and because Rudra cares about you guys, I will protect you all as well. That is how it was before, how it is now, and how it always will be in the future."

The soldiers burst into cheers and some shed tears of joy, even Calgurio and Minits, as they were moved by Velgrynd's words.

Masayuki could only stand there in confusion, "If I'm hearing what they just said correctly, then they really have mistaken me for Emperor Rudra. I should have pointed it out already. Besides, Bonnie already knows the truth. If it's exposed, I'll be the one who gets in trouble. And the kiss... the kiss... I'll definitely be killed..."

"You look upset. What's wrong? If something is bothering you, you can tell me." Velgrynd said, snapping his attention back to reality

"Huh? No, no, it's nothing. I don't have anything on my mind..."

Seeing his unnatural attitude, Velgrynd frowned slightly, "Perhaps you do not remember me?"

Masayuki gulped silently as he tried to figure out the implications if he had said the truth. He glanced at the uncaring 'Yin', shouting in his mind for her help, and as expected, she looked over to him, already reading his mind.

"Just call her 'Velgrynd'. She will be more than happy."

Masayuki thanked her profusely after hearing 'Yin's' voice in his head and looked up at Velgrynd, "Velgrynd... san, was it?"

Velgrynd's face broke out in happiness, "Yes, that's right! You remembered me, Rudra! ... Oh, now I understand why you were looking so glum. I was so happy to see you that I forgot that your name is Masayuki now."

With this, even his concerns about his mistaken identity were resolved. He was relieved after knowing this fact.

"Yes, that's right. Actually, my name is Masayuki, not Rudra. That's why I'm a little confused." Masayuki grinned but made sure to look out for any changes in Velgrynd's expression as well as the Imperial soldiers, "According to the conversation just now, they think that I'm Emperor Rudra, right? But if I tell them that I'm not the Emperor at this point, they'll all be confused. I would be charged with perjury by the Emperor, and then I'd have to prove my innocence!"

However, much to his dismay, Velgrynd didn't seem to care, "There's no problem at all. The value of the Empire is nothing more than Rudra's property. It was just Rudra's hobby that led him to build it, and he kept it because it was necessary for his game with Guy. If you don't want it anymore, why don't we just scorch it clean?"

The faces of the Imperial soldiers paled as their eyes pierced into Masayuki.

"St-Stop it! Don't look at me like that! Don't blame me!" Masayuki took a deep breath and cut in, "No, the Empire is important! Rimuru-san also wanted to be friends with them in the future. When the war is over, let's establish diplomatic relations... friendly relations."

He almost regretted his decision when the soldiers began looking at him with worshipful eyes.

"Really? If you say so. Then I'll just continue to cooperate as usual." Velgrynd smiled brightly

Although hesitant, Calgurio spoke up, "I am sorry to interrupt you just now even though things have been settled, but there is one thing I would like to confirm."

"What is it?"

"Yes! It is about Rudra-sama, the current Emperor. What will happen next for His Majesty Rudra?"

"Oh, that's right. After all, you guys can't see the true nature of the soul, can you? The Rudra now is nothing more than an empty shell. But the real Rudra's soul was gathered by my beloved Masayuki." Velgrynd explained breezily

Blinking, Masayuki pointed at himself, "Huh? Me?"

"Yes. Even without your memories, there is no doubt that you are 'Rudra', so I love you and will try to make you love me too."

Masayuki could only let out an empty chuckle, "Uh, yeah."

"Then we must make Masayuki-sama the true Emperor!" Calgurio declared

"Huh?"

Bonnie nodded, ignoring the sound of confusion from Masayuki, "That's right. But it might be difficult. In terms of bloodline, he's of a completely different pedigree. It won't even work if we say he is the Emperor's illegitimate son. There would be no way to cover it up."

"Wait, what?"

"It doesn't matter. The army will be suppressed by Calgurio-dono, and I will handle the nobility. It's okay, they won't be able to argue. If we fail, the Empire will be destroyed anyway, so we can't afford to take any chances." Minits said, offering a solution
