KATHERINE POV

We both just sat there in silence for another two hours. I never thought I could be so annoyed with a person I tutor as I am now. Neither of us has said anything or even moved besides getting up for the bathroom. I know it's partly my fault for this but so Hero...Hayes whatever the heck his name is. 

I know what I said was messed up and wrong but so was what he said.  Apart of me don't care to fix this I mean I stood up to kids at school before like today. In all honesty, the only reason I did say something was because I didn't care today and just wasn't thinking but any other time I wouldn't have said anything. I would have gotten in more trouble than Damon just because it was his word against mine and I would have lost everything while Damon would be pryest by society. I only get to go to the school on a scholarship and one wrong move that it for me. 

I need to fix it because if I didn't I would get fired and I need the money. I hate having to be the bigger person but I have to "look I'm so..." I say before getting interpreted by a group of guys walking in. I recognized every one of them. 

The Hunt

Some of the most powerful family names in our school. The Hunt and Marino are the closest friends to the Herandez and part of the Herandez empire. All their kids are friends, like this big group of rich and powerful people. The only other family in their group is the Martinez but there not here and that is a whole other empire. It was only the boys' none of the girls which I'm surprised to see them. Usually, they're all at practice "well shit." Anthony mutter shaking his head while all the other have the same look beside Emilio making Her...Hayes rolls his eyes.

"where Val?" Hayes asks "she with the girl." Oaklee says "what is she doing here?"  Darren asks nudging his head at me "I'm..." I say before getting interpreted by him "nothing she was just leaving." Hayes says making me turn to look at him "really?" I ask anger and shock. I don't know why I was shocked I should expect this from him "yes." he says looking at me with anger and not caring "estupido (asshole)." I mutter grabbing my stuff and trying to walk past the guys but one of them decides to be another asshole and trip me "oops I'm sorry." Darren says sarcastically him and Anthony walks over to sit next to Hayes.

I had enough of men no boy for today. I quickly grab my stuff that drops "here." Emilio says handing my stuff to me "thanks." I say "no problem." he says giving smiling at me and when Emilio Herandez smile you smile too. I think it one of my favorite thing about him was his smile and it made him different from the other guy. 

He didn't have a problem smiling and didn't use it just to get what he wants like the others. He wasn't a jerk or this crazy party person he was just a good person. Out of all of them, he was the most popular one because of his father but he was one of the kindhearted in their group. "Emilio comes on,"  Darren says making both of us turn to look at them. My eyes met his and they held nothing but anger the look on his face made him look unfazed like he didn't care about anything which he didn't. 

"I have to go." I say I had enough of being here and want nothing more than to be with my brothers "text you later?" he asks looking at me nervously I could hear the others muttering stuff but I didn't care "sure." I say he lets out a sigh and looks more relaxed "ok um..." he says "Emilio c'mon!" Darren says "yeah hurry up I'm getting bored now." Anthony says I roll my eyes at them "I see you later Emilio." I say "yeah." He smiles at me before walking over to them and I leave want not to come back but I know I would have to.

"what the hell happened to you? I was losing my mind with all the worse ideas wondering what happen to you!"  Taylor says "I told you to need to stop listening to all those true crime stories." I say laying down on my bed enjoying the peace I had " it helps me fall asleep." she says "and then you get all scared and paranoid." I say "and when I survive any situation you'll be thanking me for watching them." she says "yeah." I say closing my eyes today was a long day and I was just tired "what's wrong? What happen after you hang up on me?" she asks I let out a sigh "Ever since I started tutoring I never had a problem with the person and today I finally did and I hate it." I say "It couldn't have been that bad..." she says before I interrupt her "it's Hayes Herandez." I say opening my eye waiting for her to react "no fucking way! Hayes Herandez!" she yells 

"not so loud," I say sitting up. Both Jorden and Jayden are asleep and don't need them to wake up "sorry I forgot." she says quieter "but still Hayes Herandez. What was he like?" she asks "an asshole." I say it feels good getting to say it and not having to hide "figure. Did you learn anything?" she asks getting excited "I didn't go there looking for intel." I say laughing but the excited look on her face despair "but..." I say "but what?" she asks the look on her face of excitement returning "but I don't know...his name his dad call him Hero and said that his name." I say it was something that confuse me because everyone said his name was Hayes "Hero are you sure?" she asks "yeah he call him that multiple times." I say still thinking about it. 

 "wait you met his dad? How was it? Did he say anything about the mom?" she asks "Nothing about the mom and his dad was scary but fine." I say "when are you going back?" she asks I let out a sigh. I didn't want to go back but I didn't really have a choice I need the money so whatever problem I have with him I had to let it go"I don't want to but I don't really have a choice." I say "well look on the bright side you'll be able to tell me all the drama that you find out." She smiles, making me laugh, one of the reasons why she is the best. No matter what I'm going through she always finds a way to make me laugh when I need it "and you get to see Emilio." she says I guess that was a nice part but I highly doubt we get to spend any time together or if he even would want to "I'm not tutoring him I'm tutoring his brother." I say "still you'll get to see him way more." she says "yeah I guess." I say. 

I and Taylor kept talking for another hour until she had to go. I finish up my homework when I heard the door and the noise that usually follows afterward. I was hoping he wasn't coming home but he did "Katherine!" my dad yell. I can do this just one more night and he'll be gone for weeks. I get up and go outside my room "Katherine!" he yells again then there was the crush "yes." I say walking into the kitchen seeing the mess he made in such a short time "who the hell touch my fucking beer?" he yells turning to look at me. He looks bad his eyes red and his hair a mess and really needs to shave. 

He looks old and worn out I can't remember the last he actually looked like my dad. "I don't know there was some in there yesterday," I say but he got so fucking drunk last night and he passed out and forgot. It's the truth but I couldn't say it out loud because I don't want to go through the pain not tonight "you fucking lair!" he yells throwing one of the empty beer bottle at the wall behind me. I flich I fucking flich why did I flich? I hate it because he knows the effect he has on me and after all these years I should be used to it and I am but can't help but react the same. 

"did you check the garbage maybe there is some in there." I say I didn't have it in me to correct him not tonight "there better be or I swear to god!" he says pushing me making me fall into the glass "clean this shit up." he yells. A few tears fell from my eyes I'm really trying here and I know I deserve this for what I have done but how much more until it is over? 

          I'm so sorry I pray one day you forgive me please forgive me...
