Translates to: Sit down, Legolas

The next couple of days you could find me in our library reading. Today I was reading about Gil-Galad and his family. I was shocked to read that his family line was cursed so that the oldest child born would have two soul mates one was an elf and the other would be born from man.

I was looking at Gil-Galad's family tree when I seen a name under Gil-Galad that made my heart stop, according to this he only had one daughter and her name was Aredhel, and she was born the same day and year as I was.

I got up and took down our family record and when I got to Ada's it only had Elladan, Elrohir, Arwen down as his children. I sat there in complete shock, the Elf that I thought was my father wasn't.

"Red what's wrong?" I looked up to see Strider standing at the table.

"My whole life has been a lie." I said.

"What do you mean?" He asked kneeling down in front of me.

"Here read these." I said pushing the books to a spot by me.

He stood up then sat next to me and read the books.

"Go and talk to Lord Elrond, maybe he could explain everything." Strider said.

"What if it is true?" I asked.

"Then it's true, I love you for who you are not who your father is." He said.

"But if it is true then I am his only child." I said.

"So." He said.

I grabbed the other book and pushed it towards him and told him to read it.

When he finished reading he looked up and asked, " What part of this scares you Red?"

"The two mate, Arwen cheated on you, how would this be different?" I asked.

"Well for starters you told me and second we both would be with you. Now Lord Elrond is in his study go and talk to him." He said.

"Ok, I will thank you." I said leaning over and softly kissing him.

"You're welcome." He said smiling.

I got up and left the library and headed towards Ada's study. I got to the door and took a deep breath and knocked.

The door opened as Ada opened the door, "Aredhel I was just coming to get you. come in." He said smiling.

I walked in and turned to look at the Elf that raised me. "Can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Anything." He said.

"Is Gil-Galad my real father?" I asked sitting down.

He sat down and sighed, "Yes, Aredhel he is. You see when you were born you mother had died shortly after. And then a couple of years later your father and I rode out to war. My wife had taken you in, then you father was struck down and his dying wish was for me to raise you and love you like my own, I promised him I would take care of you and I did." He said.

"Yes, you did. Can I still call you Ada?" I asked.

"Always." He said smiling.

I walked over to him and hugged him, "Now what did you need me for?" I asked.

"Oh, well when I step down , you will be the one to take over Rivendell. So you need to be at the council meeting today." He explained.

"Oh, Ok." I said.

"Alright let's go.? He said.

We walked into the courtyard where the council was being held.

I sat down by Strider, "everything ok Red?" He asked.

"Yes, it is." I said smiling.

"What is a female doing here?" A man asked.

"This is Aredhel my daughter. You will show her the same respect that you show me Boromir." Ada said.

"Sorry Lord Elrond." Boromir said.

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-Earth stands upon the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate-this one doom. Bring forth the ring, Frodo." Ada said gesturing towards the pedestal.

Frodo rises and lays the ring on the pedestal.

"So it is true..." Boromir said.

Frodo returns to his seat besides Gandalf looking relieve.

Boromir rises and addresses the council saying, "In a dream, I saw the eastern sky grow dark. But in the west a pale light lingered. A voice was crying: Your doom is near at hand." He approaches the plinth. "Isildur's Bane is found." He said.

Boromir reaches a hand out towards the ring, his fingers hover above the ring.

"Boromir!" Ada calls out leaping to his feet.

Gandalf stands and begins to chant, "Ash nazg durbatuluk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatuluk agh burzumishi krimpatul."

The ring echoes the harsh words. Thunder crackles as the sky darken, the whole council stare around in fear and confusion.

Then the voice of the ring died away. People resumed their seat horrified Boromir among them.

"Never before has any voice uttered the words of that tongue here in Imladris!" Ada said.

In a voice raspy from the force of the words and the language Gandalf said, " I do not ask your pardon. Master Elrond, for the black speech of Mordor may yet be heard in every corner of the west! The ring is altogether Evil!" And giving Boromir a final scathing glance he also returned to his seat.

"It is a gift. A gift to the foes of Mordor." Boromir said unperturbed as he got to his feet and started to pace.

"Why not use this ring? Long has my father, the steward of Gondor, kept the forces of Mordor at bay. By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe! Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy. Let us use it against him." Boromir finished.

"You cannot wield it! None of us can. The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master." Strider said.

"And what would a Ranger know of this matter?" Boromir asked.

I went to say something but Strider placed his hand on my thigh and when I looked at him he just shook his head.

"This is no mere ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance." Legolas said standing up.

"Aragorn? This...is Isildur's heir?" Boromir said looking back at Aragorn.

"And heir to the throne of Gondor." Legolas said.

"Havo dad, Legolas." Aragorn said.

"Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king." Boromir said returning to his seat.

"Aragorn is right. We cannot use it." Gandalf said.

"You have only one choice. The ring must be destroyed." Ada said

"Then what are we waiting for?" A dwarf said standing up and grabbing an axe and approaches the pedestal.

"Argh!" he said as he strikes the ring with full force but is repelled back throwing him to the ground. The ring remained intact with the shards of the axe all around it.

"The ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli son of Gloin, by any craft that we here possess. The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm whence it came. One of you must do this." Ada said.

After a moment of silence Boromir said, "One does not simply walk into Mordor. It's black gates are guarded by more then just orc. There is evil there that does not sleep. And the great eye is ever watchful. It is a barre wasteland. Riddled with fire and ash and dust. the very air you breath is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly!"

I rolled my eyes.

Legolas stood indignantly saying, "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The ring must be destroyed!"

"And I suppose you think you're the one to do it?" Gimli said leaping to his feet.

"And if we fail what then?! What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?!" Boromir said rising from his seat.

"I will be dead before I see the ring in the hands of an elf!" Gimli yelled.

Commotion starts as arguments erupt.

I groaned out and placed my head into my hands.

"I will take it!" I looked up to see Frodo standing.

"I will take it!" He said again.

The argument died down, Everyone turned towards Frodo astonished.

"I will take the ring to Mordor, though-I do not know the way." Frodo said.

Gandalf walked towards Frodo, "I will help you bear this burden, Frodo Baggins, as long as it yours to bear."

I got up and walked to Frodo, "I promised to help you in Bree, and my promise still stands." I said.

Aragorn rises and walks over to us, "If by my life or death, I can protect you, I will. You have my sword." He said.

"And you have my bow." Legolas said walking over and joining us.

"And my axe!" Gimli said looking grimly at Legolas as he joins us.

Walking over to us Boromir says, "You carry the fate of us all little one. If this is indeed the will of the council then Gondor will see it done."

Heh!" Yelled Sam jumping from behind the bushes and joining us, "Master Frodo is not goin' anywhere without me!" He said.

"No indeed, it is hardly possible to separate you even when he is summoned to a secret council and you are not." Ada said amused.

"Wait! We are coming too!" Said Pippin and Merry as they emerged from behind the pillars and joined us.

"You'd have to send us home tied in a sack to stop us!" Merry said.

"Anyway you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission, quest...thing." Pippin said.

"Well that rules you out Pip." Merry said.

"Ten companions...so be it! You shall be the fellowship of the ring." Ada said.

"Great! Where are we going?" Pippin asked.

I chuckled and walked off to pack.
