18: The King of the Ocean (and hugz)!

Melvin was upset that Slendy had swam off, but now had both Ishizu and Odion as prisoners. He wanted Marik to come back so he'd have the complete set of Ishtars.
Marik started swimming in his direction, but had to turn around once he saw Melvin coming after him next. Marik tried to swim away, but Melvin had been too quick and pulled him away.
"Now, Marik," he smirked, wrapping his tentacles around his arms and tail, restraining him from any movement. "Would you like to experience firsthand what my hugs are like?"

"Not really, no."

"Too bad."

Melvin, with the rod in hand, attempted to stab Marik but Bakura was back again, fighting with Melvin and slashing his knife at his tentacles to try and free Marik. Melvin tried to hang on longer, but couldn't when Marik was struggling again. Bakura successfully released Marik from his grip and returned to the surface.

Bakura seemed too tired now, and his breathing was heavier. Marik tried pulling him to the cruise which wasn't too far away, but couldn't figure out how to get the crew's attention, or how they'd get him onboard.

There was a rumbling sound, and Marik saw (an even more psychotic than usual) Melvin emerge from the water, using the rod to command the seas. "Aw, look at that!" Melvin cooed at Marik's attempt to keep Bakura above the raging water. "It's like you're back to the beginning!"
Melvin made a large whirlpool that caught the two inside, ripping them apart from each other's grip. Marik was flipped around and around and unsure of which way was up. "Got to........find...........Fluffy........"

"Nyeh! What's going on?" Joey said as the water began trying to throw the boat.

"Not this again!" Seto muttered, and Mokuba was still attached to his leg.

Yami and Yugi looked over the edge to sea, and to the sky where a lightning-filled storm started to form in the clouds.
"But I thought they were clear skies today!" Yami scowled.

"Yami, you need to learn to never trust the weatherman. Ever."

"Hey guys! Isn't that Marik and Bakura?!" Tristan pointed toward the whirlpool starting to form, and to the Melvin hovering over it, commanding the waves.

Ryou sipped his tea. "We should help them!"

Everyone on the ship looked at Ryou. "Why would we help Bakura?!" Yami asked.

"Well, we should at least help Marik! He's not an a**hole!"

The crew prepared the ship and tried to get it closer to the action.

Bakura tried to find something to hang onto, and eventually clung to a rock. The water was forcefully trying to pull him away, and screwed up his fluffy white hair.
How am I supposed to get out of this bloody situation?!

The waves eventually let go of Marik and dropped him on a piece of dry land that was surrounded by a wall of water. Melvin was hovering over the entire thing, and dropped to the dry land, but was walking on his two human legs. "You were going to get a hug eventually!" He sneered, and watched as Marik, with only a tail, could only use his arms to crawl away from him. The more Melvin approached, Marik backed away.

Bakura could barely open his eyes to see anything, or else the salt water would burn them. But he heard Melvin talking, and he knew it was to Marik. He knew he was in danger, and slowly, squinting, he opened his eyes to see the situation the merman was in.

Marik had the tip of the hidden knife in the rod up to his chest, and he didn't know how to move anymore. Melvin tilted his chin up with the blade. "Come on, Marik, at least look at me while I kill you!"

Bakura let go of the rock and swam as much as he could to get to Marik. He would not let him be killed, not if it wasn't by him. He also still had questions. He hated him.

And he may have loved him just a little bit.

He used enough force to get to the dry area on the ocean floor and tackled Melvin, earning a "gah!" in surprise.
They wrestled a bit, and Bakura struggled to get the knife out of his hand.

Melvin easily overpowered him and threw him right next to Marik.

"Good try," Marik awkwardly gave him a thumbs up.

"Really not the time, Marik."

"Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me! I was just trying to lighten things up a bit!"

"We're going to die, Marik! There isn't any reason to light anything up!"

"Aw, look at that!" Melvin cooed. "You haven't even had a proper date yet and you're already arguing like an old married couple!" Before either Marik or Bakura could comment, he continued with, "Now you'll just get to the part of your life where you die." He licked his lips. "I tend to like that part."

"Marik..." Bakura muttered, barely audible with the rushing waves. "I hate you."
Marik glanced to Bakura, who was looking at him with a determined expression and that same sexy grin.

"If it makes you feel better....I hate you too. It's your fault I got into this mess." He pouted.

"My fault?!" Bakura frowned.

"Yes, you! If you hadn't been so drop dead gorgeous I wouldn't have even bothered with the humans this much."

Bakura scoffed. "You're the one who gave away your voice to SWAP SPECIES. I minded my own business!"

"You're the one who couldn't friggin swim! I saved your life, you jerk!"

"Yeah, well maybe if you had left dropped me off at the seashore and left me there I wouldn't have a problem with wanting to find you!"

Marik was shocked, but kept the argument going. "You didn't even try! I got to you first!"

"Well, I brought you to the bloody mansion! I made sure you were bloody cared for!"

"You left me WITH TÈA. She's such a friggin whore! I mean, yeah, who wouldn't be staring at my gorgeous body, but still! She didn't even try to hide the fact she was!"

Bakura crossed his arms. "How's that my fault? Your the one with the sexy midriff! How am I supposed to just stand by and leave you all by yourself?"
He covered his mouth, since he let it slide that he notices Marik's appearance.

"Don't bother hiding it!" Marik was halfway between angry with him from the argument, and wanting to laugh because Bakura admitted to something he already knew. "I know you look at my midriff when you think I'm not looking. I'm sexy, okay? I understand how hard it must be to even blink."
(What are you, a weeping angel?)

Bakura turned away, but noticed Melvin still standing there, munching on some popcorn. "Keep going." He smiled. "It was getting interesting. You won't even know I'm here."

Bakura looked at the wall of water surrounding them as they sat on their little patch of dry land, and back to Melvin. "Are you serious?"

"Fine fine fine." He straightened his posture and pulled out the rod again. "Prepare to die! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!"

Bakura felt Marik's hand latch onto his, squeezing his knuckles. Bakura held back, almost sure this was the end.
