Radio Report

"Another homicide has been reported this morning. The murder weapon has been identified as a metal rod shape item that was used to strike the victim across the head, leaving them dead in seconds. The force used was so great that the victims' head was smashed in such a way that identification of the body is taking longer than anticipated." the reporter informs.

John listens to the report that he's heard a whopping five times on the radio, social media outlets, newspapers, and throughout the gossiping city. He pushes back his scraggly, blonde hair and turns towards Viki, who is working away on her experiments. She is perfecting her "crime fighting" robot she calls AXV-1.

"Can you believe this, Vik?! I know D.C. is a fairly erratic city, but to have a killing this brutal? It worries me...considering it was so close to the lab," John proclaims.

"I can't listen to that report one more time. She went back to her work nervously, I have enough too much on my mind right now. AVX-1 is the ideal bot, so much so that improvements are not to be considered." she said sadly.

John glances over at Viki, he notices the number two pencil in her mouth. Her tan and dimpled skin tightened as she looked up at the notepad. Viki's bright blue eyes stared with an intense amount of concentration. John had been friends with Viki since they were in elementary school, and he noticed that she always focused extremely hard when she is trying to forget something. He was also smart enough to keep it to himself because he knew she would share it with him soon enough.

Viki remembered that she was working late the night before and that she had slept on the couch in her office. She woke up to get a glass of water and noticed that AVX-1 wasn't where she had left him that day. Viki dismissed the thought and assumed that she must have just bumped the robot. She went back to her notes and examined the robot and became aware of the small indention on the robot's arm.

"John, she exclaimed, can you come and take a look at this for me? There's a scratch on the robot's arm."

He stood up from his chair, put his myology book down, and made his way over to the testing room to find Viki, who was taking notes. John examined the limb and agreed, she was right. On the forearm was a tiny dent.

"There must have been a lot a force that hit this because you used steel to build this robot."

"I have no idea how this could've happened."

"Has AVX-1 been acting up recently? That might explain this.?"

"No." she lied. Viki noticed that on occasion the robot electronic, red eyes would glow when she knew she had switched it off. "I bet AVX-1 fell over and dented itself. It isn't the lightest thing I've invented so that is what had to have happened," she said trying to convince herself more than John.

" I guess so.," he said suspiciously.
