Lewis Street

The next day, John was at the gym with his earbuds jogging on the treadmill. His music was interrupted by a report.

"Breaking news! Another homicide has been reported that is identical to the case from yesterday. The victim was found on Lewis Street faced down with the same wounds as the previous victim. The police are confirming that they are ruling these two cases to have been done by the same person." John ripped out his earbuds, shoved his things in his bag, and sped to Viki's laboratory.

When he got there he searched for Viki everywhere and finally found her in her office looking over to papers.

"Viki! There's been another murder. It was on Lewis Street where your house is. I came over as fast as I could. Are you alright? Did you see anything happen?"

"I'm fine. I was busy fixing AVX-1 at my house. I took it home last night to see if I could fix his arm. I fixed it." She dodged his last question. She kept the fact that when she woke because the robot wasn't in the spot she left it and the arm was again in that spot. "John, I.. I have to tell you something. " Viki said nervously.

"What is it?" he said curiously.

"AVX-1 has been acting up. It will turn on and move by itself. I fixed it's spot on its arm and then it was there again."

"Wait, why didn't you tell me sooner?" They stepped out of the room

"I didn't want my invention to be another failure so I ignored it."

"Think about it. If the robot is doing this it explains how the victims are being murdered. The reporter said that it was a metal rod, just like the arm of AVX-1. And it also happens to have a scratch in the same spot. That can't be a coincidence..."

"I guess you're right. I just don't want to believe it." Viki said.
