Narrator's POV

Back at Ratigan's lair, the record is still playing but Basil has still made no attempt to free everyone while Olivia is pushing at the cork trying to break free but no avail and Audrey sighs as she had no idea what to do and was getting annoyed by the record playing.

"Basil?" Dawson called out but Basil only groans and Dawson tried to get his attention again "Basil!" and then Basil asked him depressingly "Oh, how could I have been so blind?" and Dawson starts to say "We all make mistakes! But we can't let that stop us! We have to-" but was interrupted by Basil saying "Ratigan's proved he's more clever than I" and then he scoffs and adds "He would never have walked into such an obvious trap". But the thing was, he was more upset that he disappointed and let down his first love. He had never met someone who would capture his heart and after meeting Audrey, he knew right away that she was one; his true love. 'How could a girl love a coward back?' Basil thought to himself. "Oh pull yourself together! You can stop that villain! Why-" Dawson starts to say, but the record caught his attention as he looked over and saw that it was skipping.

"Basil! The record!" Dawson exclaimed so he could get Basil to be alerted.

"Oh, it's finally happened! I've been outwitted!" Basil says in misery and depressingly. "Oh, Basil, please!" Dawson said, trying to stop Basil from talking bad about himself, but he kept going on and on.

"Beaten! Duped! Made a fool of! Oh, ridiculed! Belittled!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Dawson shouted in anger, but due to the shouting, the record finally fixed itself and the song started playing again. Dawson gives a shocked look at what happened.

"Dash it all, Basil! The Queen's in danger! Olivia and Audrey are counting on us, even Audrey's beginning to lose hope! And you know one thing, Ratigan is right! You are in love with Audrey! You love her to death and she knows it! Think about her! We're about to be horribly splattered and all you can do is lie there feeling sorry for yourself. Well, I know you can save us, but if you've given up then why don't we set it off now and be done with it?!" Dawson ranted and gave off an angry look.

Basil looks at Dawson before giving a weak chuckle and said to himself "Set it off now" but then this suddenly gives him an idea as Basil repeated "Set it… off… now? Ye…Yeah! Yes! We'll… We'll set the trap off now!" and then grins maniacally as his eyes were green, but Dawson is horrified and starts to panic. "Basil! Wait! I didn't mean that we ought-" Dawson starts to say, but the song has ended and the ball starts rolling down the pipe as it was on its way and Audrey sees this as this made her eyes widened and quietly gasped. Back in his true form, Basil quickly forms a plan as he says "The angle of the trajectory multiplied by the square root of an isosceles triangle…dividing guttermeg's principle of opposing forces in motion and adjusting for the difference in equilibrium! Dawson, at the exact moment I tell you, we must release the triggering mechanism!!".

The ball is getting closer. Dawson is ready, but terrified at what may be suicide while Basil says to him "Get ready, Dawson… Steady…" and while Dawson can barely muffle his panicked fear, Olivia still pushing the cork while Audrey was getting extremely scared and worried until...

"NOW!"

And as Dawson screams in fear, they hit the trigger, saved from the metal switch by the ball that was stopped just between their heads. The vibration loosens one of the pegs, which ricochets towards the gun, causing it to misfire and hit the crossbow, which instead of being aimed at Basil and Dawson flies towards the axe, cutting off the head. The blade falls lengthwise, slicing through the ropes and trap, effectively freeing them. The anvil falls seconds later missing them both and the force of the anvil hitting the ground rattles Olivia and Audrey's bottle, loosening the cork and sending them both flying through the air. As Dawson leans heavily against the anvil, Basil sheds his sailor costume revealing his normal clothes and puts his deerstalker cap back on. He puts one arm around Dawson and holds the other out in the air while saying with a smile "Thank you, Dawson".

Audrey soon lands right in Basil's open arm before holding out her arms and caught Olivia in time before Basil brings the three of them close to him.

"Smile everyone!" Basil said with glee and a huge smile on his face. The camera goes off as it captures Basil's brilliant smile along with Olivia, Audrey and Dawson's stunned expressions. Once Basil puts Audrey down, she gently sets Olivia down before immediately throwing herself on Basil; hugging him as the two spun while Audrey laughs happily as Basil quickly caught her. The two stared at each other for a moment before they realized their position as the two got embarrassed and Audrey quickly got out of Basil's arms with a blush on her face and said while moving a piece of her hair behind her ear "Welcome back, Basil".

But then her embarrassed look changed into a determined one as she also sheds her sailor outfit as Audrey was wearing a completely different outfit.

"Now... We've got a queen to save!"
