The Last Day

You were grateful for the fact that you thought of leaving your phone with the sound on and setting up an alarm, otherwise neither of you would have woken up to rush home so Katie could catch her flight.

It was a good thing that you thought of packing a change of clothes for the two of you as you both rushed to take a quick shower before heading home. The people that you had hired would be coming in later today to take care of the mess that was left so you didn't worry.

After arriving back home, Katie rushed upstairs and started packing for what she would be using for the conventions while you cooked breakfast. Her plane was leaving in less than 3 hours and there was no time to waste.

"Tell me again why I decided to agree to go to these conventions."

She said while coming down the stairs and heading towards the kitchen.

"Because you love your fans and hardly get to see them as you're always so busy."

"Hmm, you are right."

She trailed off, causing you to turn around to find her looking at the ring that you had gotten her. Luckily, you had your phone on your back pocket and was able to take a picture of her. You smiled at how happy she looked and set it up as your wallpaper.

"I saw that. You're not as sneaky as you think."

She walked over to you and leaned in to kiss you.

"You're lucky that I love you. Also I have tons of pictures of you so..."

Katie laughed as you attempted to take her phone to see them but she just walked over to the fridge to get something to drink.

"Don't worry, darling. They are all flattering pictures. I'll send you my favorite later on."

"They better be flattering, you tend to catch me at my worst moments."

"Nonsense, you always look beautiful."

Her compliment made you blush and quickly turned away so she wouldn't see it. What you hadn't noticed was her walking towards you to make her look at you.

"I can't believe that I'll soon be able to call you my wife. I can't wait to start planning our wedding."

"There's no rush. We can plan it whenever you're not busy filming and stuff."

"(y/n), I've been daydreaming of our wedding since we started dating."

This made you feel all giddy, happy that you weren't the only one feeling like this.

"Looks like we have some planning to do then."

The two of you started eating and soon enough. It was time for Katie to be dropped off at the airport. You parked your car and helped her out with her luggage.

"I'm already missing you. Promise to text and call me whenever you can."

"I promise. You know neither of us can be a day without the other. I hate to hurry you up but you're plane will be leaving soon."

She sighed and pulled you into a deep hug. Only pulling away as you moved back.

"I love you, (y/n)"

"I love you, Katie."

Katie kissed you one last time and soon walked towards her gate. You waited until she boarded her plane and soon headed back to your house. She might have left just an hour earlier but you were already missing her. The house just wasn't the same without her. A few minutes later after arriving, you received the pictures the Katie had promised to send you.

They were the ones she had taken throughout the week. The last one had been of you sleeping in the cabin and it made you smile. Katie had risked missing her flight so she could get a couple of more minutes with you.

You forced yourself to do something productive or else you would spend the entire day, miserable in the couch, thinking that maybe you should have gone with her.

Katie hated to leave you behind. She wished she could have brought you over but it wouldn't have been a good idea. You had work and your relationship was still under wraps. She smiled while looking down at the ring. It was perfect and although it might make people start to wonder why all of the sudden she was wearing an engagement ring, she didn't care.

After arriving at the airport, she was taken to the hotel, where she checked into her room. The rest of the cast would be arriving at the night so she still had some time before anyone started asking questions.

She ordered room service and while she waited, Katie changed into her pajamas and called your through FaceTime.

You quickly answered, not even caring that you were changing into your pajamas as well.

"I do like this view."

You blushed brightly and quickly finished putting on your shirt. You were still shy despite having her already see you naked more times than you can count.

"How was your flight?"

"Quite boring. I kept thinking of wanting to turn around."

"I kept thinking about actually coming to visit you but I know you'll be busy.

A knock was heard at her door that caused Katie to walk over and see who it was.

"I'm sorry, babe. Melissa arrived earlier than I had expected. I'll talk to you later. Love you!"

She whispered before hanging up.

Katie opened the door to find Melissa with the room service cart. Apparently she had also ordered herself something to eat and noticed the waited bringing in your food. She figured it would be better to eat together.

The two of them talked about what they had done with their week off, Katie lying about what she had done for the week. It was getting late and both of them would have to be up early in the morning. Melissa was saying her goodnight when she noticed the ring on Katie's finger.

"Katie! Is that what I really think it is?"

She took her hand to better inspect the ring, whistling softly as she took in the detail of it.

"This must have cost a fortune. I didn't know you were dating someone. Who is it?"

"Um.."

Katie sighed in relief when the rest of the cast distracted Melissa. She quickly greeted everyone and then excused herself, claiming she was exhausted. Which she was, she wasn't prepared to handle all the questions. Tomorrow would be better.

'I wanted to FaceTime you again but I figured you would be asleep. Melissa noticed the ring but got distracted before I came up with an explanation. Goodnight, beautiful! Love you and I miss you already.'

With the message sent, Katie fell asleep.
