Evil Plans

Tom's pov

"I just don't see what the problem is Jones. We're only a days journey from Port Royal, let's just turn around and take her back" I pushed, attempting to get my first mate to see some sense in the idea.

"Please tell me you're joking Captain!? After the stunt we pulled? If we so much as dare to sail into that port... we're finished. She's better off staying here on the ship." In all honesty, the man had a point. There was an extremely high possibility that Port Royal was preparing itself for another attack and was most likely to be on high alert until Ella had returned safely. "Why did you even want her on the ship to begin with anyway Captain?" Jones added inquisitively raising an eyebrow at me.

"She saved my life Jones. I felt I owed her something. The day of the wreck, I remember her pulling my parents keepsakes from my neck and hiding it when her father came down to check on us. If he'd seen that chain... He would have thrown me back into the water and let me die. The next morning before we arrived at Port Royal, I recall her telling me that she'd always wanted to travel the world by sea, it was her one and only dream." I stared out to the horizon, drinking in the sunlight as I retold my story to my first mate.

"So what you're saying is that we dropped our plans to find all the treasures you promised us, to allow one woman to live her dream because she hid some jewellery from her pirate killing father?" He replied in disbelief.

"Yes" I answered, clearly I was the only one who understood my own intentions. From the tone of his voice, it seemed Jones really didn't care about Ella. He just wanted to do what we did best... plunder, pillage and drink lots of rum.

Realising I was getting nowhere with my first mate, I let out a sigh and headed back to my quarters, to try and cheer up Ella. If I couldn't take her home, I'd try pretty damn hard to allow her to see the world.

Rosella's pov

After I'd arrived back on Tom's quarters I cried until there were no tears left within me. As I sobbed quietly into my arms, I heard a soft knock at the door before it creaked open.

"Ella? May I speak with you?" Tom spoke softly, in a way it was reassuring that his soft side was showing. I looked up from my knees, which I'd pulled up to my chest. The moment he saw my tears he rushed to the bed, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. I breathed in his scent... For a pirate.. He doesn't smell too bad. I chuckled to myself at my own thoughts, then brought myself back to reality and the situation I was in. "I want to make you as comfortable here as possible. I know it wasn't your choice to be here but I had a reason for doing this." I looked up at Tom, meeting his eyes. I scanned his face for anything that might have given me a clue as to what his reasoning was. Instead of seeing what I searched for, I found young Thomas staring back at me. His deep blue eyes searching mine, as my eyes traced over the rest of his face, young Thomas began to merge with the older, worn out and ragged Tom. Whose stubble had began to grow back, defining his sharp cheekbones. Without realising my own actions, my fingertips met his face and ran over his defined features. When I realised what I was doing I quickly pulled away and stared into my lap.

"What is your reason?" I asked, mumbling into my knees. I felt his fingers brush under my chin and pull me to face him again. His hand lingered there for a moment until he finally broke eye contact and dropped it back to the bed beside me.

"You saved my life Ella. I wouldn't be here today if you hadn't spotted me in the water that night. And even more so if you hadn't hidden my chain from your father. I feel I owe you something and my first thought was to give you your dream. I'm sorry the way I brought you here was... forced. But I knew you'd never come if I asked you nicely." Tom chuckled at his last statement, as did I. Tom took a hold of my hand and kissed my knuckles softly, my eyes met his from the surprise of his actions. "Can we perhaps start over? Turn over a new leaf and be friends?" I nodded with a smile. I liked this Tom. The kind, sensitive Tom that despite his hard exterior, had an extremely soft and loving interior.

"Of course we can Tom. If you'd told me that reason for kidnapping me when I first stepped foot on this ship, I might have been slightly more understanding" Tom had a stunned look on his face. He blinked away his shocked expression and took ahold of my hand once more, encasing it in between his own.

"Well in that case, I suggest our we start over from this very moment!" he brought my hand up to meet his lips where he placed a gentle kiss onto the back of my hand, warming the skin with his breath. "It is a pleasure to meet you m'lady. My name is Captain Thomas Hiddleston, but you... can call me Tom" he winked at me at the mention of his shortened name that he had been so persistent for me to call him before.

"It's good to meet you too kind sir. My nameis Rosella Langley, but you may call me... Ella" I teased, mocking the tone he'd used to introduce himself a few moments earlier. We both smiled at each other and out of nowhere, the cruel captain I had the mispleasure of knowing a day ago, had dissapeared and was replaced with the kind hearted man I knew was there deep down.

Our introduction was rudely interrupted by a loud crash from the deck, and manly shouting. I was also very sure I heard the clash of metal swords. I looked over at Tom, gripping onto his hand with fear. The look on his faced told me he knew exactly what was happening, his eyes met mine and he pulled me closer to him.

"Whatever happens, promise me you won't believe a word they tell you. Stick to my side and you'll be safe. I'll be right back, stay here." He leant forward and kissed my forehead lightly, letting go of my hand and making his way towards the door, taking a deep breath then walking out and closing the door behind him.

"What in the world is going on out here?!" I yelled across the deck as I shut the door behind me, leaving Ella in the saftey of my cabin. The crew stopped mid fight and turned to face me. The first to lock eyes with me is my first mate.

"Why Captain... we seem to have a mutiny on our hands" Jones shouted over at me, I couldn't read his face, it seemed worried but also determined at the same time.

"And who would be leading this mutiny?" I asked strolling to the centre of the deck, coming face to face with Jones, knowing full well what the answer would be.

"That... would be me!" Jones shouted, lunging at me with his sword, which I skilfully blocked with my own, fending off my attacker. Suddenly the rest of the crew started towards me, all focused on their captain, and no other man on the ship. They lured me out just to allow them to take over the ship! They knew I couldn't fight them all off alone. As the men backed me into the corner, swords drawn, I silently prayed to myself, hoping for a miracle. But it seemed things only got worse. And I knew this when I suddenly heard a scream escape from my quarters.

Things suddenly went very quiet outside. Tom had been out there for a while and I began to wonder what was going on. I slipped off the bed and walked slowly to the door that separated me from the saftey of Tom's bedroom and the danger of the men outside. As I reached for the door handle, it suddenly began to move, someone was about to come in. I took a step back, hoping that Tom was about to walk through the door. Unfortunately it wasn't.

"The Captain demands your presence on deck" The rough gravelly voice of one of Tom's crew entered the room as his eyes wandered over my body.

"The Captain told me to stay here" I replied sarcastically, listening to Tom's advice and not believing a word the crew had to say.

"Well there has been a change in authority Miss Langley. Captain Jones wants you on deck" I gasped at the name, I began to panic. What had they done to Tom? What was going on out there? What were they going to do to me? My thoughts were interrupted by the pirate grabbing me firnly by the wrist and dragging me towards to door. I let out a scream, not one hundred percent sure as to why. If Tom wasn't outside to protect me, I wasn't safe anymore.

As the door flew open and I was dragged outside, I felt my heart wrench in my chest as I heard a pained cry come from the corner behind me.

"Don't you dare hurt her!" Tom cried from the group of men that held him back from escaping. I caught his eye and a tear rolled down my cheek as I saw how they had him defenceless.

"Oh don't worry Thomas, I don't intend to. In fact I plan to do quite the opposite" Jones smirked at me, running a coarse finger over my cheek. I turned away in disgust, rolling my eyes. "She is truly beautiful, isn't she? No wonder you had her brought onto this ship so you could have your way with her. But now... I'll be beating you to it" He chuckled wickedly, taking hold of my wrist and stroking the back of my hand.

"Good luck with that" I mumbled under my breath, pulling my hand out of his grasp. Jones grunted in dissapproval and threw me to the ground.

"Fine then! Boys, it seems that the broad  wants to share Thomas' punishment. Tie her up!" I heard Tom cry out to stop them, but he had no authority anymore. Just like that, he'd been stripped of his role as captain. He was now simply Thomas Hiddleston. I happily accepted the ropes that bound my wrists behind my back, and was then dragged over to where Tom stood, his arms now also tied.

"I'm.. I'm sorry Ella" He whispered "I just couldn't hold them all off" He looked down to his feet and took a deep breath. Our eyes met again, and I knew that whatever happened to us, I would feel safer with Tom, he'd try his hardest to protect me, and if he couldn't, he'd put up a dammned good fight.

"To the plank!" I heard one of the crew shout, the rest joined in, whooping at the plan they had for the two of us. It was my turn first, I felt a sharp pain in the small of my back as the big brute I had encountered two days ago poked me with the tip of his sword, nudging me ever closer to the water beneath me. I took a deep breath, and glanced back over my shoulder at Tom. Suddenly something pushed me forward and the next thing I knew, I'd hit the water.
