Its a love story

(July 11th- 6amish)

Annabeth and I reached Miami late last night, booking a little motel by the beach and passing out from exhaustion.

It may seem like a simple thing, but driving for over 6 hours is not an easy task.

I was awoken in the morning by the best sight, a half-asleep Annabeth drawing the windows open to let the light sunshine filter through.

"You said you wanted to see the sunset," she yawned, "so let's go see it"

"You remember," I groaned, covering my eyes with a pillow. Waking up was not my favourite thing.

"Of course I do, seaweed brain. You were quiet insistent on it. So let's go before I fall asleep  attached to the curtains like a monkey," Annabeth urged, tugging at the curtains to let some more light through.

"But wise girl-"

"You can't say no. It's my birthday tomorrow," she grinned

"That's blackmail, my love," I complained, but sat upright and let myself adjust to the prospect of existence.

Annabeth was right, as usual.

I had a very specific plan for today, and I intended it to be perfect.

She might not know what the plan is, but she just began the initiative.

I put on a pair of clothes and both of us made our way to the beach, just in time to watch the sunshine.

I couldn't help but admire the way they made Annabeth's princess curls illuminate, like they were made of molten gold.

Gods how the sunhlight made her eyes sparkle.

"The sunset is over there, seaweed brain," she smiled, noticing me staring, "what's on your mind?"

"Oh nothing....just thinking about our first kiss"

"Oh," Annabeth's cheeks heated,"I...yeah, that was over there, right?" she pointed to a slight distance away

"Does it matter where it was? You're forgetting the most important part," I replied, watching her face will with curiosity.

"Oh? And what was that?"

"This," I replied, pulling her into a deep kiss. Her hands wrapped themselves around my neck, her hair tickling my nose.

It'd been so long and even now, every single second I spent with her was like a slice of heaven.

She was my home. She was my heart. She was my absolute everything. And soon...

"Someone's very romantic this morning," she teased, panting ever so slightly.

She leaned in for another peck, "How about a swim?"

"You read my mind, Chase," I grinned, "A swim it is"

Annabeth laughed as we raced towards the beach, shrugging off our clothes as we let the water embrace us.

"Oh! I forgot to mention, we have a class later today with Chiron," Annabeth said, splashing me with water, "Don't forget"

"Oh about that, Chiron said he's busy. Cant take one today, I asked him," I informed her, splashing her back with an equal amount of water

"Is that so?" her eyes twinkled, she disappeared under the water, reappearing  in front of me moments later, "Well I guess I'm free the rest of the day"

Annabeth's arms wrapped around my neck as she straddled me. She pecked my lips, sending me chasing after her.

"Well I have a couple ideas on how to spend the day"

"Oh do share"

"I was thinking a brunch picnic by the beach?"

"That sounds perfect," she kissed me, "I love it"

"And I love you"

"But Percy...." she began cautiously. I held her tighter.

"Tomorrow's the wedding day and not to ruin the moment...what's your plan when we go back next week?" she asked

"Honestly...I don't know. Maybe I'll stay with mom until dad cools off?"

"Mmm" she mused, "And what if your father decides to get you married once you reappear? Are we just gonna...run away again? I feel like that's all we're doing" she sighed.

"Annabeth," I softened my voice," There is no force on earth that can pry me from you, even my dad. We're permanent. We're building something permanent," I kissed her forhead

Annabeth chuckled, "sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky with you"

"That's odd," I replied, "that's what I ask myself everyday"

We spent a little more time in the water, just enjoying the solitude, peace and each other.

Annabeth was right.

Our travelling spree is coming to a close soon and I intended to savour the last of it.

"Any plans for your birthday?" I asked her as we got out of the water, grabbing our clothes as we walked past the shore.

"Just that I'm going to spend it with you," Annabeth shrugged, "And celebrate the fact that we won"

"We're definitely winning," I laughed, kissing her cheek.

Gods I loved her so much, sometimes it drives me insane.

"What's gotten into you this morning," Annabeth laughed, her face flush in the sunlight.

"Nothing. Nothing at all," I lied, as we made our way back to our motel.

Annabeth's excited scream filled the air when she heard the news about a new Shadow and Bone season coming out. She made us rewatch the whole first season again, despite the second one coming out next year.

I didn't mind though, it was a welcome distraction.

Especially with my phone blowing up with texts from certain people. I was glad Annabeth was hyperfocused on the show to not notice.

It's her favourite show. Absolutely recommend it.

"Holy Hermes! Look at the time!" Annabeth gasped, finally pulling her eyes away from her laptop.

She ended up binging the entire season.

"It's 8," I chuckled, "And you're right on cue for dinner"

"Oh great," she sighed, "I think I'm starving"

"You think you're starving?"

"Staring at a screen for a long time will do that to you," she shrugged, un-cocooning herself from her blanket, "let's go eat"

"About that...you might want to get changed," I grinned.

"Why?" she cocked an eyebrow.

"Well....let's just say I have a birthday surprise planned...starting with a very fancy dinner"

Annabeth's eyes lit up, "well then...I suppose it's a good thing I thought to pack a very fancy dress"

"Really?"

"It's nothing special, but it'll do. It was in my mom's closet," she explained, going into the bathroom to change. I changed as well.

When she stepped out, she looked as gorgeous as ever. In a dark blue long dress with her princess curls perfectly framing her face, she looked every bit a goddess-queen.

Gods I was running out of adjectives to describe how beautiful she looked.

Annabeth and I had a wonderful dinner. Every moment I spend with her is wonderful, honestly. I don't see the need to specify it.

After dinner, I handed her a blindfold, my heart thumping in anticipation.

After some protest, she put it on. And I led her towards the beach, the sun had already set and the stars guided our way.

"This isn't the way to the motel," Annabeth mused as we made our way towards the sandy expanse.

"Why would we be going to the motel?" I asked

"I mean....I'm wearing a blindfold, so I just assumed.." she teased, the corners of her mouth tilting up.

"Wise girl!" I whispered, glad she couldn't see how flustered I was, "not yet"

"Seaweed brain, where are we going?" she asked again.

"It's a surprise!" I replied, not falling prey to her begging.

"Mmm okay wait here," I whispered, stepping away from her, "don't take it off until I tell you too"

"Mmm wouldn't dream of it," she grinned, the excitement clearly affecting her too.

Okay Percy.

"Open your eyes, wise girl" I whispered, settling down on the sand, the sounds of the sea matching the rhythm of my heart.

Annabeth undid her blindfold, tossing it away and letting the wind take care of it before she opened her eyes, the gorgeous gray hues sparkled brighter than all the stars above us.

I took her hand in mine, pulling her closer towards me.

"Wise girl, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?"
