"Where have you two been? Tyler and Cole came back a few minutes ago." Ash asked angrily, "And why are you riding on my brother's back? Aren't you aware that you weigh like two pigs in a cow's body? Did you lose your ability to walk along with your common sense?"

Damien and I just ignored Ash.

"You can put me down now," I whispered to Damien,

I kinda feel embarrassed, to be honest. I know I shouldn't let Ash's harsh words affect me but it did.

Maybe it's because he's my mate. Instead of hearing sweet nothings from him, all I hear is BS.

Damien slowly put me down. He turned and faced me with his charming smile.

"I'm sorry Hale. I lost track of time, I forgot that your mom told you to be back before nine." He said, scratching the back of his neck adorably.

"It's fine. It's not like I wasn't enjoying what happened back there." I said with a laugh as I remembered how we stumbled and fell into the woods.

He laughed as well and said, "Right. We should do it again sometimes."

Before I could respond, Ash stood in front of me and punched Damien in the face.

I gasped and stared at Ash who is breathing heavily and is glaring at his brother.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Damien asked angrily as he stood up and wiped the blood on his lip.

I quickly scurried to Damien's side to look at his face closely when Ash pulled me to his warm body.

"Mine!"

"Hale?"

"Hale?"

I groaned and noticed that I am being shaken.

Shaken?

Oh, shit, earthquake!

I quickly sat up and screamed, "Earthquake!!! Everybody hide! Hide under the table, quick!"

I heard a chuckle and some booming laughter so I opened my eyes slowly.

Tyler and Cole are both laughing their asses off while Damien is chuckling and staring at me in amusement.

"Cole, hide under the table, there's an earthquake," Tyler said in a high-pitched tone.

Damien and Cole laughed so I glared at them and they quickly stopped laughing.

"Ha-ha-ha, very funny," I said to Tyler who clamped his mouth shut.

I looked around and noticed we're in the pack's garden.

I frowned and tried to remember what happened after I climbed on Damien's back.

"You fell asleep minutes after," Damien said,

I just smiled sheepishly and wondered to myself how I managed to fell asleep at Damien's back when he was chasing my best friends.

"So, it's time to face the music, Hale. Go to your mom and ask her what she wants to tell you." Damien said gently,

I looked at him in bewilderment. What is he talking about?

"I think she's still not over the earthquake and forgot about what Beta female told her before we left," Tyler said before he laughed loudly.

I felt my cheeks reddened in embarrassment. I tried to remember what happened before we left but my mind drifted back to my dream.

Stupid Ash had to be in my dream again. This is getting really creepy and scary.

He is already the supervillain in my life and now in my dreams as well.

That's when I finally remembered.

Ash told my mom that it's not safe and she shouldn't allow me to go to London. So before we left, my mom told me she wants to talk to me about it.

"Crap, what time is it?" I asked no one in particular as I quickly stood up,

The three of them quickly glanced at their wrist to look at their wristwatches but Cole wasn't wearing him so he looked at me and grinned sheepishly.

"It's hairy-armed-o'clock." He said jokingly,

I chuckled at his obvious cuteness and looked at Tyler who is removing his watch.

"Can't you just look at it without removing it?" Cole asked, trying to snatch the watch from Ty.

"Don't tell me it's upside down again?" I asked but I already know I was right.

This often happens so no surprise there. Tyler wears it for "fashion purpose" only so he never really bothers to check if it's upside down or not.

"It's 8:58, Hale," Damien said,

Without even bothering to say goodnight, I dashed inside and went to my parents' room.

Shite! Shite! Shite!

I climbed the stairs two at a time and finally reached the third floor or known by the pack as the Beta's floor. I passed the mini living room and was about to head to my parent's room when I heard someone speak.

"You're late."

I froze for a second and quickly scowled when I realized it was Ash's voice. I turned and glared at him.

"If it wasn't because of you I wouldn't be having this late-night appointment with my mom. You just love to ruin everything."

He stood up and barked a sarcastic laugh. "Darling, I won't ruin everything. I'm just doing my job which is to RUN everything."

"I may be part of the pack that you're about to own and run but that doesn't mean that I will let a psychotic narcissistic delusional jerk like you run my life."

"Oh, sweetie. You are way too naive. With or without your consent, I can and I will run your life. It is either you will let me run it, or like what you just said... ruin it. So which is which? I prefer the latter so if you don't want the former then I'd gladly fulfill your wish." He smiled at me mockingly,

"That's where you're wrong, Alpha stupido. My life, my rules. I am not your toy and so are the other members of the pack. If you're going to run this pack with that type of thinking then i clearly suggest that you go back to where you come from and just let Damien take your place. He deserves it more than you." I said angrily,

"When are you two going to stop bickering and will start acting your age? Ash, you're the soon-to-be Alpha, and Haylee, you're the beta's daughter, and if Emma and I will have our way you will be the Future Alpha Female as well."

As much as I hate it, my cheeks reddened at my mom's words.

Don't blush Haylee, that's the Devil's long-lost brother for Shrek's sake!

So you finally admitted that Damien is an evil devil? my wolf interrupted with a laugh,

I just ignored her and continued glaring at Ash who is smirking at me.

"Now, let's talk about that trip to London so I can sign that waiver."

"But what is he doing here mom?" I asked, still glaring at the devil.

I don't want him to be around when my mom and I will have this conversation. I know he will only try to stop my mom from letting me go.

"He's here because I want to ask him a favor." My mom said with a smile,

I quickly got worried. I know that smile. It'll pass for a toothpaste commercial but if you will look at her eyes, you will know that it's a mocking smile.

"What favor?" I asked worriedly,

Please don't let my instincts be right this time. Moon goddess pretty please.

"I want him to accompany you to London. You can only go if he will agree to go with you."
