Nanachi Pov

well the Village was pretty nice, the place was fairly quiet with nice people, none of them had any names so figuring out who was who is not an easy thing to do, god it sucks they don't get names unless someone does it for them like a Demon Lord or something, anyways when i was good enough to go i paid the village back with some helpful science my Unique skill gave me

so with the materials they had i managed to make a Lightning rod for powerful Magnets, when that was shocked then i could make a basic generator for them to give some Electric for other things, then i can move on to making better stuff like working lights that didn't take wood or oil or whatever, though id need a lot more materials for that

though strangely when explaining this to the Village leader, uh the Princess' parents they decided to make an offer to me

Become the Village Inventor to help them grow and in return they would protect and house me while offering training if i wanted it, an Older Ogre with white hair was supposed to be the strongest one of them with a sword and he said when i want to he will train me like some others in the Village

while i was grateful for the offer in training i held off on it now and instead i focused on helping the village quickly using the villagers to help grow the village in technology, sadly we don't have electric yet, and when i described materials for batteries they said there wasn't anything like that in the area, well for acidic batteries, using water jars with a bit of metal will work, after we get the strong Magnets

and that's where we are right now, in my workshop next to the small river that flows through the village

Princess- i see, dont worry im sure a storm will come soon but for now please take care of yourself

Nanachi- thanks and unless someone can summon lightning or something then we're stuck waiting, oh yeah and quick question how's my request going?

Princess- oh your new clothes? yes i'm doing well in them and they should be ready tomorrow, please keep up your work

i'm glad, smiling at her she soon left and i got back to the drawing board with more ideas on what to make, sadly most things i want are out of reach with nothing useable to make it, man Senku made this look a lot easier but we barely have the materials for good magnets

though im becoming good friends with the Princess, like Cannon Reg she likes my fluff though her touching it feels funny, i see why Nanachi doesnt let Reg pet her and ignoring that she even let me request some clothes so of course i asked for Nanachi's First Appearance     outfit, anyways overall my first week in the Village was nice and peaceful and now, it's time to get back to work, lets see what shall i make today, i have a good bunch of wood and metal though with my lack of Magic knowledge i can't do anything with Magic just yet

hmm, what shall i make for them? ah i got it! I can use it too!

Grabbing the chunks of wood i quickly start carving it with the metal blade provided

slowly i made a curve out of the firsts piece with 3 holes, a pair of small ones big enough for a bit of strong string while the centre one was bigger, about the size of a stick

next was the main piece so slowly throughout the day i carved away making it slim and smooth to hold while keeping it strong, next was a bit of mechanical work to hold something back and when pulled it would be released, sadly i cannot carve a good modern trigger but a simple hook that can move will do

next up was using metal screws to attach them before i got to the string, spinning the fibres up i maked them stronger and with a bit of strength i pulled it back onto the hook, now i just need to finish it off

grabbing a strong stick i carve it out so it's smoother, more aerodynamic and add a sharp point at the end made from Metal with some fibre as a guide a the back of the arrow, so loading the new weapon it was finished

I made a working Crossbow. I think I just need to test it. Ah, I know just the perfect man for the job!

picking up the new weapon i rush outside in my borrowed Kimono and rush over to the training grounds where the old Ogre was training some younger ones

Nanachi- hey i need some help! Can you help me test this new weapon?

Old Ogre- oh? of course lets see it

nodding i show him the Crossbow and he looked it over before giving some good feedback

Old Ogre- it's similar to a Bow, hmm it looks easier to use for a weaker person, here fire the arrow at me and i will judge its strength

without worry i take the weapon back and stand at the other end of the training field where everyone watched me, i watched as the old man got into his stance so i aimed at him, everything felt slow as i pulled the hook back sending the arrow flying towards the elder

within a second it reached him and fell to the ground as it was cut in half, what does he think?

Old Ogre- hmm, it's more powerful than an average Human archer with much less training required, id say its a success, now then may i give a suggestion?

Nanachi- sure, i'm always open for them!

Old Ogre- from the way you held it there isn't an easy way to aim the attack correct?

Nanachi- yeah, i'm going to make an attachment to make it easier to use, though i need a break i'll see you later

waving the old man goodbye I heard the sounds of the Ogres training once more and on my walk back I waved to a few people as I walked passed, and I enjoyed the feeling of the warm sun. Man, I can't wait to improve this village even more, though when does winter even arrive?

for now i focused on getting home and when i arrived there was a bit of a surprise waiting for me!

Princess had brought some food for me!

there was a bunch of different things though whenever i get these gifts i feel stares towards me, especially from her brother the Prince, i don't know him that well but he's a cool guy, but then again i don't know many of the villagers that well,

a few weeks later

i helped the village a lot so far, with my help we made better weapons through Crossbows and a quicker method of katana's which the village was fond of plus i'm getting closer with the locals, it even gave me a chance to explain some of my knowledge making them learn about science, and to make things better the Village blacksmith a guy with simple black hair and who was pretty tall learned about this stuff easily, he even took on my quicker Katana crafting method as well as helping me develop a few types of arrows

first was the normal one, next was the bee one which held a pouch of bees at the arrow tip, next was the sand arrow, no need to explain it

however these arrows had much less range which sucked but that's the payoff i suppose, naa~

oh and i've been getting a weird feeling lately, it's either because i've not had the best sleep or something else but hey i got my new outfit to calm me down! so i now possess basic Science facilities to create stuff along with Nanachi's cannon outfit from their first appearance, minus the hat of course, its something i don't wear often hehe~

Anyways right now I'm taking a bit of a break, I've made so much stuff and I'm designing a log burner stove, dead simple when you think about it, use some good heat resistant metal, turn it into a box and add a door plus a chimney to get rid of smoke and it's all good to cook stuff on, plus they warm up rooms way to easily, I just need to make that...

So I left a reminder in my room for that and instead I relaxed within the village being as lazy as I want, plus Nahida is there to help when I need it

Though that leads me to now where I had the weird feeling again, it's annoying Nahida how far can I spread the Curse of the Abyss?

Nahida- it has the power to increase its range to the exact same as the Cannon Abyss so a circle with a diameter of around 1000 Metres however at the edge of this the curse is weaker compared to being close to you but it can grow to be stronger and it may be powerful to engulph the world 

I see, do it I wanna see if I can sense anything with it

Nahida- alright then, performing expansion to current limit

I felt my range of sense go super wide and it was weird, feeling where everything was, well sorta. I could easily feel where everyone in the Village was but far from it was difficult,

I can't tell what's what that far away

For now I had Nahida suck up the Curse making it safer and I went to find the Prince since he'd probably know about this

A few moments later

I reached the home of the Princess and Prince, now I just gotta find him so knocking on the door I saw the Princess had answered

Princess- oh Nanachi, how can I help you?

Me- I need to speak with your brother, I've sensed something weird far from the village, I can't tell what it exactly is

Princess- I see, please come with me, he's in the kitchen dealing with... her cooking....

Eh? Who's cooking not that one girls, I saw it once and I swear she has some kind of cursed life skill or something

So I followed her inside to see... death

The Prince was on the floor and his eyes had rolled to the back of his head as foam came from his mouth with a purple Ogre watching over him with a panicked face

I was right... it was her

Nanachi- uh Prince? Can you hear me?

He didn't respond, looks like I have to talk with his sister then

Nanachi- uh I may as well ask you for some help, can you get me some people who can scout out an area with me, I don't know what's there but something big

Princess- I see, very well I will set it up, a group will accompany you tonight, I'll send them to your workshop

Nodding I thank her and head back not wanting to risk being fed whatever killed the Prince, but to whatever I might find... I'm a bit scared heh not the first time I guess

Sucks I don't have access to glass right now, or sand since there nine nearby because if I did then I'd try to make a spyglass or something

I just gotta hope all goes well and nothing and happens, I mean it's probably just a large monster or something and not an army of some monsters

Later

It was midday now and something weird happened, after the Prince got back up someone arrived, he called himself Gelmud or something, he was a weirdo that's for sure, first he wore a suit that reminded me of a circus ring man and he had a plague doctor mask on

He offered to name the Prince in exchange for something, didn't catch what it was despite my amazing hearing, probably because i didnt care that much

Though he was declined and sent away but the red Ogre and he looked at me strangely before he was completely gone, I have a bad feeling about this

So on my own I scouted the weird feeling I was getting, and when I reached it saw hell, it was an army of pig like beings, uh Orcs I thing and well there was a lot of them like a lot lot, it looked like a modern highway from my old world but with orca and not cars or something, and their heading towards the village!

I need to warn the others but what's that really big one? It looks a lot different hand has a strange feeling to it, I don't like it at all

So rushing back to the village it soon became nightfall by the time I arrived I saw my mistake

The Village was in blazes as everyone desperately fought the Orcs but they were loosing there was just too many of them

Yellow Ogre- Nanachi?! You're still here, we thought you died, gah... get out of here! The Princess along with a few others have made their escape! Go quickly!

I froze at the sight, before the Yellow Ochre grabbed me and threw me away from the village

I couldn't move as I felt myself flying through the air away from the burning village

My home is gone... Why did this happen?
