¹⁶ LITTLE OMI

THE RAVEN-HAIRED MALE SCRUNCHED his brows together as he heard an unsettling call of his name. He tried to continue to sleep, but the voice would not stop. Grumpily opening his eyes, he realized the voice belonged to the girl who no longer filled the empty space beside him. And then, he heard her call out to him, again.

     "Koomi."

He sat at the edge of the bed, slowly rubbing his tired eyes as he grabbed his phone to check the time—passed four in the afternoon. "Wake up, Koomi," she said.

Releasing a heavy sigh, he stuffed his phone into his pocket, walking out his room. What is so important that she had to disturb his nap? Or why could not she go to him instead? And yet, again, Sakusa heard his little nickname for the nth time.

"Yes, I'm coming, you're so loud," he yawned, seeing her on top of the island counter. "Um, what are you doing?"

"How's the most handsome man in the world doing? Did you sleep well?" she smiled, swinging her legs.

Despite her cheesy question, it still greatly affected him as a fever came to his cheeks. "Well, I was having a good nap. Are you gonna tell me why you're putting your butt germs on my countertop?"

"Hey, I'm not dirty," she playfully frowned. "But come here for a second, I'll show you."

He trudged over to her as she patted the marble counter. "Come, you'll see once you sit," she chuckled.

The male pushed himself up sitting beside her, then he turned to her. "Alright, now what am I supposed to be looking at?" he asked, gazing around the kitchen.

"Nothing in particular. I just didn't wanna be alone."
"Huh, you woke me up for this? Nah, I'm leaving."

As he was about to get off the counter, she placed her hand on his. "Fine," she paused, "I saw a cockroach, so now I'm scared to go down 'cause I don't know where it went."

Then he quickly snatched his hand away, reaching over his shoulder. "Where is it?—Fuck, is it on me? I feel something crawling on me."

"Wait, are you scared, too?"
"N-No."

"Then if you're not scared, find it and kill it, so I can get down," she cheekily grinned.

"Why don't you do it?" he muttered, avoiding her gaze as he tried to conceal his panic-stricken façade.

"Mhm, you are scared," she laughed, turning his face to see his expression.

"Fine, just a little. But how did a cockroach get in here? Are you eating in your room?" he questioned.

"No, Koomi. I respect your rules in your house, so it couldn't have been me," she deadpanned.

"Well, one of us is going to have to kill it, and it's not gonna be me," he said.

"Then looks like we'll be here for a while."
"Why'd you have to call me? I still wanted to sleep."

"I didn't want to be lonely," she chuckled. He pulled out his phone as she moved closer, peeking at the screen. "Could we watch something? I didn't bring my phone."

"That sounds like a you problem," he said, checking his notifications. The female slowly moved away, staring off to the side. "Don't cry, I'm just kidding," he scoffed.

"That was mean," she said with a dramatic pout on her lips as she scooted closer to him.

"Mhm, what do you want to watch? I have Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and Crunchyroll," he asked.

"Ah, he got money, get it all for him. Gee, you might as well get Disney plus, too," she laughed.

"Oh, I have that, too."
"Holy shit, can I use your account?"

"Sure, I hardly watch on that one. I'll put my stuff in later, so which one?" he asked.

"On second thought, do you have old pictures of you in high school or maybe as a baby?" she grinned.

He leaned back as he side-eyed her suspiciously. "Yes, but I'm not showing you," he said.

"C'mon, I don't even know what high school you went to," she whined, nudging his arm.

"Itachiyama Institute," he replied, scrolling to the very top of his camera roll. "Here, they're mostly from my volleyball matches, though."

The girl took his phone, clicking on the first picture. "Oh, my god, look at your hair," she giggled. "Wait, you chose to wear yellow shoes?"

"It matched our uniform, jerk," he rolled his eyes. "If you're just going to tease me, then gimme my phone back."

"I'm not. I think it's cute," she smiled, zooming in on the photo. "Did you join MSBY right after high school?"

"No, I went to college."
"What? No way, what university and what major?"

"Tokyo University, and I majored in sports science," he said, leaning back on the palm of his hands.

"Ooh, a college man. That's so hot."
"You find everything about me hot, what a simp."

"Only for you," she laughed, and he watched how her smile grew bigger as she continued to look at his pictures. "Does this mean you played volleyball in college, too?"

     "Mhm, the collegiate volleyball league."
"And were you the best or?"

"I earned the MVP title, so you tell me," he smirked, a cunning look written in his eyes.

"Wow, girls must've been all over you. Oh, my god, Sakusa-san, you're so talented! Can you finger me from behind with those flexible wrists?" she mocked, starting to laugh uncontrollably.

"Literally no normal girl would straight up say that to a stranger, but I'm starting to think you would," he chuckled.

"Maybe, but—fuck me," she gasped, then he whipped his head to the phone as it displayed his shirtless mirror selfie.

He instantly sat up, snatching his phone from her hands. "Don't look at that," he said, feeling quite embarrassed.

"No, lemme see or at least send it to me," she smiled, yet he deleted it. "Boo, you're no fun."

"Quit whining, I'll just send you a new one. That one was from high school," he scoffed. "Anyway, do you still want to see my baby pictures?"

"Yes, please," she said. He slowly shook his head, digging into his mother's Facebook albums.

"Aw, you're such a baby. Ugh, I want to squeeze your cheeks so bad," she cooed.

"Okay? Breastfeed me then," he said, his brow arched. She immediately glanced at him as they both laughed.

     "And you think I'm weird?"
"I don't think you're weird, you are weird."

"But in a good way, right?" she asked, softly smiling. He stared into her eyes, lowly humming in response.

"No, but for real. If you ever have kids, they'd be cute as fuck," she said, scrolling down more.

     "Kids with who?"
"I don't know, your future wife, I guess?"

As she continued to examine the photos, a notification from the blonde setter dropped down. "Atsumu texted you," she said, giving his phone back.

"What did he say?" she asked, looking at him as he handed his phone back to her.

"He's going to come over after he gets us food from his brother," he replied.

"What're we gonna do?"
"I don't know. Whatever you two want."

She slowly nodded, leaning her head on his shoulder as she moved the phone in the middle of them. "Quickie before Miya comes?" he asked.

"Right here? But we're gonna get sex germs on the counter," she teased, then he whimsically rolled his eyes.

"Nevermind, later when Miya leaves."
