A Cursed Union

Hjejin was scattered on the floor and Taluipa stared at her with her uncanny narrowed eyes. Hjejin eyes was still blurred from the tears, her ear ringing and she had this terrible headache not as awful as before but same as you feel at the day of hungover.

"You died because of your own stupidity, do you know that." Taluipa explained. "You were a half mermaid, mermaid nonetheless and you refused to return to the waters just to stay with Lee Rang which lead you to your demise."

Stop, please stop, Hjejin thought in her head, she wanted to scream at her to tell her to stop but she couldn't utter anything as if her mouth never knew how to speak, her own voice felt so foreign to her and her head blasting with pain wasn't helping.

With struggle she tried to get up but failed after some few tries she finally got up and regained her balance. Her mind reeled with so many questions but she refused to ask and give up to her trap.

Hjejin spat harshly. "You must think of me as a fool, no one in their right mind will choose to die when they are immortals she could've easily go into ocean and comeback and let's say I believe in these absurdness then why Rang didn't tell me anything."

"Because he don't remember anything we erased you from his memories." Taluipa looked exhausted. "He was a mess after you died and unmanageable and he refused to live or with your memories."

Hjejin scoffed. "You want me to believe all of this?"

"How dare you mortal," Taluipa raged, "You think I'm here because I have some grudge against you and that half fox relationship. You are nothing but a spot of dust in this vast universe, a universe that you don't even know exist."

Hjejin didn't dared to speak further.

Taluipa continued. "There needs to be a balance between everything a status quo; life and death, good and evil but your arrival in Rang life has hindered the balance of world. You see he was supposed to be the evil and Yeon was supposed be the good and for the sake of greater good Yeon was supposed to sacrifice himself.

"It was not a coincidence that Yeon abandoned Rang or Rang detested his brother or Rang awakened the Imoogi."
Taluipa looked directly at her after saying that and Hjejin couldn't meet her gaze as if she was guilty of something.
She continued, "It was all written in their destinies by celestial stars from above but you have ruined everything and now he would sacrifice everyone not for humanity but for you."

Hjejin was just trying to understand all of this, her lip sealed, head frowned she could think of nothing but him.

"Goodness me! Brother give me last of the strength for this one. You are not understanding this, child are you? He was supposed to kill you, you were supposed be a challenge for him; a human in whom his powers doesn't work but instead he became intrigued by you and rest is history."
Taluipa took a deep breath. "And for your past life you didn't return to water was because you didn't know that you had to as you were raised by humans not your own kins and except for Lee Rang you were not well acquainted with anyone immortal of you kin who would have guided you."

Hjejin finally spoke startling herself and the other person in the room. "To put it quite plainly you are saying I should no longer see Lee Rang because he is changing for the better and somehow that's ruining the balance of the world."

"No... Well technically yes." Taluipa sighed. "You are totally going to overlook the fact that he was supposed to murder you."

Silence followed along Taluipa's word

"The world will do everything to eliminate anything that will try to break the equilibrium, your union is cursed it will end up in his death, a bond of mortal and immortal never suffice."

"Then why him not me?"

"To bring the balance child, in your past life you died and this time he will just like Yeon."

Taluipa eyed stilled at her with some hidden anticipation. "You asked me who in their right mind will choose death than immorality didn't you, he will...for you."

"Choice is yours." The whole room echoed.

After telling her tale she was gone, no trace of her, no opening or closing of the door, she just vanished out of thin air taking all the air with her because Hjejin couldn't breathe she gasped and fell to the floor her head between her knees.
She was shaking with rage then shock and ultimately she broke down.

"What have I done so bad that I don't deserve any kind of happiness." Hjejin cried. First my father, then mother and then him. Why didn't you let him kill me and let him end my agony. If we were never meant to be then why let us get so far with each other?"

"Why?"

She hiccuped during her cry and at the end there were so words but tears because tears are the words that mouth can't speak but only heart can feel.
