2 - welcome to baltimore

STELLAS POV

i grabbed my suitcase.

it was later in the month, so that meant i was going to be traveling from honolulu to some place called baltimore and staying with a family called the gaskarths for a whole year. they apparently had a son around my age.

i threw it into the back of the truck where the rest of my few things were, and we were off to the airport.

"bye dad" i said to my dad, smiling as i was about to board the plane straight to baltimore, it was a long flight so i was hoping it'd be worth it.
"bye sweetie. remember- No boys" he said, hugging me.
a loud voice boomed over the speakers, drowning out the loud tourists i was so used to
"flight from honolulu to baltimore boarding now"
"mhmmm!" i said, running down the isle and into the plane, my suitcase rolling behind me.

the flight was okay. i had never been on a plane, but as someone who once saw a movie where some guy was in between a screaming child and a person who slept on his shoulder, i was happy i was in between two people who slept the whole time as i looked around the plane with wide eyes.

the plane came to a stop and i walked down that ramp thing and into the airport, looking around.

everything was so-- modern? there wasn't a flower or anything hawiian in sight. some weird song about cake and ocean was playing. it looked like something out of a movie. i looked at a tv that was in a nearby waiting area and gasped. i've never actually seen a tv that big, all we had in hawaii was a little box shaped one.

i walked through the airport, desperately looking for some place where the gaskarths would pick me up near something called "starbucks" weird, i know.

people pushed by me but i was greatful to see a waiting room next to "starbucks" and a family of a mom, dad, and son sitting, waiting for me.

the mother saw me and stood up excitedly and pulled me into a hug.

"she's so beautiful! oh my gosh! stella honey we're so glad you're here! welcome to baltimore!"
